I’m getting my sec + right now and my associates in spring 2025. I’m planing on getting my bachelors as well.
Awesome! The Sec+ is the most common requirement in GovTech
I absolutely love this editing style your videos are so aesthetically pleasing. 👍🏾
🔥🔥 I’m looking to break into tech as a business analyst.
Editing on point 🫡
I have a IT degree and the Comptia Sec+. I'm having a hard time finding a entry level job that will sponsor a Security clearance
Apply for “federal” tech jobs, they will usually sponsor you.
@@wfpogun I think that's the point though; the harder time being had by many. I'm seeing a lot more listings these days saying an active clearance is a must where as there used to be a lot more saying 'must be capable of obtaining' aka we'll sponsor it if you are clean enough for it.
27 years in this business. There is absolutely no such thing as job security. Never mind 100%. And no not even working or contracting for the government. Contracts are lost or underbid all the time.
How in demand is the industry right now? I've had a clearance before, getting my security+ and have 8 years Tech experience.
Technically, I'm in GovTech right now and didn't even notice it 😂. Work an IT contract with DOI without a clearance. Planning on leaving at end of contract to look for a clearance job.
This is very fascinating, thanks for sharing this information!
I'd love to get into GovTech but I'm only seeing CyberSec kinda roles, it would be great to see from the perspective of a Data professional.
I just got my TS clearance supposed to be getting my security + through my university
I’m a U.S. citizen and I worked as a business analyst, product owner, systems analyst, and agile coach/scrum master for a few years now. Is there government contracting and overseas opportunities in my domain?
A lot! All of those positions are available
"Beez" with another stinga👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
There is no such thing as 100% job security 💀
But this comment is 100% true 🤣
Leave the negative energy over there 👉
@@JosephEdwards-Winston as someone who currently works in the IT industry I'm telling you what I know 😬🤷 yes you'll have hire ability but that's the sum of it.
It’s a title to get people to click…. It works lol
@@JosephEdwards-Winston If someone states a fact or tells you the truth you automatically label that as "negative" because you don't like it? With that mindset, you are every scammers dream target. Learn to seperate your emotions from reality. Don't blindly listen to anything without fact checking.
2 questions... what software u use to edit vids... can you do a video on what i need to do as a software dev to get job with a gov contractor? Im thinking i need sec plus and cloud certs? Im trying to ask recruiters, but im not having luck finding knowledgeable one. What would you say? Im coming up on 2 years of professional experience as a .net dev
Loved the video, is there anyway to get internships with the government when going through University education?
Yes. Check out the agency websites
@@gaylanwright2317 and where can I find those?
Can you be a GovTech employee but also have a government contracting business/be a government contractor? Or is it like a conflict of interest? Thanks.
can you start tech in your 50s?
Absolutely!
Yeah but you have to be technically COMPETENT. You can't just finesse or pivot into govtech, and live the dream. Why are all our black tech Influencers selling dreams of easy income instead of encouraging learning valuable skills.
She makes the point you just said in all her interviews. She also tells how you can get experience as a newbie
Does this work for individuals living in Canada?
Nope.
Unless you are a U.S. citizen living in Canada then no. You gotta be a U.S. Citizen especially for security clearance reasons.
Hey B, I’m starting a help desk gig soon. How can I level up from help desk within a year in gov tech?
Just getting the experience under your belt and going for other certs that focus on the career path you want.
If you’re in the right place, you can possibly move up within the company faster than an outsider if you know your stuff related to whatever field you’re interested in. Person above me also has good advice, certs will help you job hop within your company to start then start looking for other companies
dude how are you able to work in different countries?
She's a lady just so you know. xD
She was hired to work overseas working for various defense contractors who wanted her skills in key areas.
Friend I do like your content but this is a bad topic and bad sense. Just as many people will tell you that there isn’t 100% job security UNLESS your working for yourself.
Currently right now roughly 8-9 million people aren’t working. It’s roughly 1.5x that many jobs out there. I’m sure many of those people not working would disagree with your topic.
For clarity I work with the government also and it’s anything but 100% safe. Let’s not spread a feeling as a certainty.
Definitely keep pushing the positive message of getting in any industry because everyone is in technology, always have been. We need more educated, skills plus, people making moves and improving our country.
Did Elon Musk ever twit it? I did not click on the video on purpose because it is clear he never said it. Do you think that Lying all the way through will help you establish Trust with potential audience? All ways are good as long as they bring Clicks! This is Exactly why I stopped following, watching you, and Trusting Anything that you say and bring.
Typical CZcamsrs Bullshit, you need SC which in itself is big deal that will cost you months to get and if you travel and have big socil live good luck getting it less than a year!!
Also, you still need to get certified bunch of them, oh wait all of them 😅
Finally the catch 22, you still need years of experience otherwise no one will look at your resume if fact it won't even pass the computer filter.
You are better off getting an entry level or even trade school certificate like HVAC or electrician and start making money right away.
Making bold and glory claims on CZcams is easy, reality is something different. Don't be fooled.
I hope you all finding what you love that's makes you money.
Can you please post in the description box the name of the government websites? You went too fast in the video. I couldn’t catch the names. Thank you.
You can slow down the video playback speed just FYI.
