BACK TO THE FUTURE PART 3 (1990) FIRST TIME WATCHING - MOVIE REACTION! CLASS TRILOGY!
Welcome to our first time watching Back To The Future Part 3 (1990).
We are watching this to conclude the whole trilogy. Wow, it throws us straight into the story from that cliffhanger in Part 2. Such a great, fast-paced action film, science-fiction, with such great performances, this time in the wild west. Written by Bob Gale, Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Produced by Steven Spielberg, starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen and Thomas F. Wilson.
A great conclusion! We agree its one of the greatest trilogies. Hope you enjoy our reactions, commentary and discussion as we pick up on as many nuances as we can. We both found it great fun and exceptional filmmaking. Everything clicks into place.

For a comedy, this movie is actually quite accurate in showing how life was back then. I mean, its not a documentary, but there are details they got right. Water was drinkable, but they got it from wells and creeks, or if you had the money, you had a pump somewhere on your property or even in the house. But yes, it could be a bit discolored. There were traveling salesmen who went from town to town, door to door, selling all sorts of goods, including barbed wire. Believe it or not, gun control was a thing in the old West, and it didn't work any better than it does today, but that's an aside..... So yes, you could be asked to check your gun at a saloon or public event, or to leave it at home. Saloons were open 24/7. The better ones served breakfast and lunch. And they did indeed serve breakfast. You might want to check out Arizona Ghostriders if you want to learn more about life back then. It's one of my favorite channels.

Go see Back to the Future the musical react to that. Have you ever took your son out to a musical have you seen what a play is like it's similar to a movie but it's like in person. Not on screen. Back to the Future the musical was the first musical you should show your kid. If you already seen musical plays in the past this is still good. People who never even seen the movies would go into the musical not knowing anything and still love it. The musical invites those who haven't seen it to go watch the movies and for those who have it's just a little love letter. I've seen it myself and it holds up just as good as the original movie did. As you said it's done pretty well the second and third one don't hit quite the same ranks but they're good. Musical does hit the same rank as the original film though. I would say the musical hits top notch. I hear some say it's just as good as the first film and some say it's even better than the movie. I personally still put number one as my favorite but I think the musical is higher than the second and third. It's worth watching and it's worth the money. Great Scott. they do put a real time machine on stage and they make the car fly on stage no movie magic no CGI it really flies. They do a lot of other tricks that I won't spoil you. Is much realistic in magical as it is there is still restrictions that the film broke that the musical can't. Like we can't have Marty's skateboard on stage that's a little too dangerous for the actor. So they cut the skateboard thing out but they replace it with something just as good. All right no more spoilers go check the musical out.

With so many references to Jules Verne in this film, I'm going to recommend Journey to the Centre of the Earth. You can do a double bill original vs remake like King Kong, with the 1959 version, and 2008 remake. The remake is very Indiana Jones-esque, with Brendan Fraser playing a science teacher/volcanologist, and Josh Hutcherson (of Hunger Games and Bridge to Terebithia) as his nephew. There are homages to Indiana Jones, and they've found a great premise to update the film. Its only 90 mins, and was in 3D at the movies so the CGI can look a bit computer game, but I didn't mind because it was inventive and imaginative and I was invested in the story. There's a sequel to that too - Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) starring The Rock as Josh's stepdad. Both films are fun and have a great father/son theme.

One thing that ppl often miss is that Marty's bullet-proof armor idea comes from an actual clint Eastwood movie. I believe Rich Biff is watching this scene in the hot tub when Marty comes to confront him about the sports almanac.

"I'm surprised they didn't make Back to the Future 4." Well, there is MORE Back to the Future media that's additional to the movie. First, there's the Back to the Future Universal Studios ride. Second, there's the Back to the Future cartoon series. Third, there's the Back to the Future TellTale video game. There's a reason they didn't make a direct 4th film was because it did everything it could with the theme of time travel. It's a dangerous thing to toy around with. In fact, the end of the first Back to the Future breaks the whole idea of the time stream and gets into multiverse theory. Think about it. Doc goes back to 1985 to get Marty to help him with an event that concerns his children in 2015. The problem is, since Doc took them out of 1985 they would've been out of time with Doc going to 2015. Meaning, they both would've gone missing for 30 years. No doubles of Marty or Jennifer would suddenly manifest. Much like the first demonstration of time travel showed the dog Einstein time traveled a full minute into the future, the dog and the Delorean simply went missing for 1 minute. The 2015 future would not have Marty or Jennifer in it all since Doc took them both out of time with him. Meaning he would've took them both to an alternate Future where they both went missing for 30 years. The only way Doc could take them back to the same version of 2015 that he saw with their children's crisis was IF the time machine could go back to that very VERSION of 2015. Meaning the Time Machine went back to an alternate dimension/universe future version where Marty/Jennifer were still within the timeline to get married and have a family. Which is a thing Doc says they can't do later in the alternate 1985, because it would've remained the Biff alternate "Hell" version of 2015. They went as far as they could with the concept of time travel.

Unsure if told yet but a lot of the cast was happy to do a 4th, downside is the writers and think director was unsure how to make an even better one so left as 3 of them, the only chance we got on a 4th is after the writers and director to pass away as they did something to make sure no 4th as long as they live

Awesome reaction videos of the Back To The Future trilogy! 👍 Wonder how much HG Wells actually inspired details for Parts 2 and 3. Where did writer/director Zemeckis get the idea for a steam engine, mine, alternate timeline, and the names Griff and Clara? In 1886 HG Wells lived a few miles from Nuneaton England and may have heard rumor of time travelers. In the early 1700s one of the first steam engines was constructed for Griff Colliery in Nuneaton to pump mine water. In 1895 Griff Colliery opened the Griff Clara Mine and that mine closed in 1955. Perhaps in an alternate timeline, Griff Tannen also stole the DeLorean going back to 1885 to meet Mad Dog. Griff intercepted Clara before she could arrive and meet Doc, taking her to England. Griff muscled in on the Griff Colliery (it did have his name). To ensure Clara stayed in England they opened the Griff Clara Mine in 1895. Maybe HG Wells heard rumor of these time travelers, inspiring his novel "The Time Machine" and Zemeckis read Well's notes. Because Doc and Marty set all the timelines right in Parts 1, 2, and 3, the Griff Clara mine had to close in 1955. (or I have a crazy imagination)

BILL and TED's EXCELLENT ADVENTURE 1989. 2 highschool buddies travel through time in order to pass their history class so that their band won't break up. Riding off the audience' interest in time traveling, adventure films, this one is a classic with great charm and wonderfull mesages. But really, I love hearing what your son thinks of the films we grew up watching at his age. You both are great. I really appreciate how thoughtfull you are when encouraging him to understand the technical and cultural achievements with these films as they can get lost on someone with a limited cinematic bearing. There will not ever be a Back To The Future 4 or a reboot of the series. The creator and producer have stipulated that they will not approve of anything in their lifetime. And to be honest, good for them. Hollywood has this tendency to want to keep making things so they have like 50 parts or they want to reboot it. These movies are classics. They are perfect the way they are. We don’t need to keep messing with them. Sometimes going after something and trying to create more or re-create you’re just diminishing it. If you love these movies, just enjoy them, watch them over and over. We don’t need to mess with them though.

This is a direct reference to a moment in the the Spielberg film "1941". The three saloon old-timers are Dub Taylor, Harry Carey Jr. and Pat Buttram who collectively had about 150 years of experience in film and television - including westerns. 16:53 Biff was watching Clint Eastwood and impressed with his bulletproof vest in the hot tub with the girls in Part 2 to set up the whole Clint Eastwood angle of Part 3. The real Clint LOVED his involvement in Back to the Future. Your son could just rewatch that scene to learn about him. Also, when Marty was getting into the DeLorean at the Drive in-, there were 2 posters of Clint in his 1st movies on the wall
