Nice project, but I'm worried about cutting branches on the bandsaw without a V-shaped holder. The piece can catch and ruin your blade.

I assume your lathe bed is horizontal to start with before you use the level bar.

Can I ask a questions about tool preferences? Do you have a reason for using the green grinder you shape the second piece with, as opposed to something like the arbor tech turbo plane? I use the turbo plane for shaping like that, but I’ve never used one of the toothed grinders. As I’m typing this I see you’re using a different tooth grinder to further shape the piece. I guess the real question here is what are the pros and cons of the different angle grinder shapers?
