I forgot to say that textures are awesome. I see them all day long, both in nature and around the concrete jungle. Putting them on wood is a real pleasure to see.
Andrew, this is an excellent demo. Thank you so much for generously sharing your techniques. You are an amazing wood artist and a big influence on my own personal developing style.
Wow. Very nice work and video. You are certainly a very creative person to create something so visually pleasing and it's not just a turned bowl. Thank you for your inspiration.
What a gift, Andrew! Thank you SO much for doing this for all of us to see a project from start to finish. I am wondering what diameter is the round piece? Also, do you seal the acrylic paint with varnish or anything? Your videos are the reason I bought a bunch a burrs and wheels and have begun to dip my toe into carving. After seeing this I guess I will be running out to buy a toilet brush, too! :)
Terrific video. Thank you. This is exactly the sort of thing I want to learn how to do. Question: Would you buy arbor tech mini or the power carving unit. I like the size of the mini but the power carver has a wide range of interesting attachments. I am leaning towards the power carver so I can have the option of all the add on items. Which one are you using. Any other thoughts or considerations?
Hahahaha toilet scrubber! I am so happy I found your channel I've been looking for something like this for so long. Your textures are a huge inspiration to my own work. This was a big level up for me
Yes, the toilet brush got off easy really... compared to the alternative :) I prefer not to name them as not to get too attached as it is a slow demise. No one really know the beauty below the purple, a pretty timber if worked well. Cheers!
Hi Andrew, Amazing art you're making. Keep up the good work. I have a question: Which mini power carving tool do you use at 1:16:00? Why do you prefer this one over other?
Can I ask a questions about tool preferences? Do you have a reason for using the green grinder you shape the second piece with, as opposed to something like the arbor tech turbo plane? I use the turbo plane for shaping like that, but I’ve never used one of the toothed grinders. As I’m typing this I see you’re using a different tooth grinder to further shape the piece. I guess the real question here is what are the pros and cons of the different angle grinder shapers?
Yeah the green Sabuur burr sands instead of cutting. More messy but more contolable than the alternative, you can be really delicate and precise. No catches either.

Yeah they are everywhere if you keep your eyes open

Absolutely beautiful piece. Will definitely try some texturing on my next pieces. Good tip about using the abrasive cleaner to get rid of the fuzz.

Toilet brush in a drill… ahh, Tis a nobler fate. Needs a name, like George or Harry…
Good video. Lovely second life for a purple tree.

I assume your lathe bed is horizontal to start with before you use the level bar.
Not quite sure what you meant but everthing is always square on the lathe.
Hope that's a clean brush!!!
Of cource :)
Is that a smaller arbortech sander?
I don't use arbortech in this video, is the burr disk you are refering to?
When are you re opening your online store ?
25th September hopefully
Привет. Какой резец вы используете на 1.11.45 ? Можно ссылочку на Alliecspress! И в следующем
