My cover version of a 1933 song, written by G. Gunn and originally performed by Jack Hodges (The Raspberry King) and later covered by the Goons, albeit with revised lyrics. Recorded in Cubase using assorted VSTi virtual instruments. The video is my first attempt using Adobe Character Animator. The silliness of the song deserved an appropriately silly video.

Si Senor The Hairy Grill (Yello Cover Version)

A cover version of Yello's track, Si Senor The Hairy Grill, from the 1987 album One Second. A rather rockier track for the Swiss duo, and indeed a heavier one for me, this has long been one of my favourites by them and I often imagined playing a version in that fantasy covers band which plays lots of obscure favourites. That's not going to happen, so it became another personal project. Recorded...

This is my arrangement and cover version of the original Beatnik Fly by Johnny and the Hurricanes (itself based on an old American song, Blue Tail Fly). I filmed this in the summer of 2020 for use in a post and it's a recurring question from new owners about whether to go tethered or untethered. Quite simply, it will depend on personal circumstances, but this was my reasoning from the start… When we installed our initial one back...

hello John Clive do you have the English version of autobahn by kraftwerk cover you did John Clive?
A link to it is pinned at the top of the video description or you can just go to my channel videos and you'll see it there.
Very boring guy
John you have answered your own question group ride lots of people waiting to charge
Yep. That's why I mentioned it.
How will the government replace the lost tax from petrol sales.
Pay per mile, weighted by vehicle type and pollution levels. Could be easily done by recording annual mileage (as is done at MOTs), with users managing their own payments on an ongoing basis, in the same way energy companies work, but governments will likely overcomplicate it with tracking or black boxes. Per per mile, based on pollution and vehicle weight is an inherently fairer system. Those who use roads more and cause more impact should pay more than those who don't.
You are not convincing me to go electric there is no financial gain in buying an ev 1, live in a flat 2 buy a house with a garage. 3 fit an electrical point idk 800 /1000 pounds. Pay a big expense for an ev stand around while you charge don't travel over range find a charger unoccupied re charge when you get home fast charge how many times can you do that before your battery is knackered. 3 replace battery idk 500 quid. Now convince me
Doesn't sound like it's for you, James. That's fine. Not my job to convince. I can recount my experiences for anyone who's interested. Your imagined scenario doesn't match my reality, but like I say, it's probably not for you. I don't get any bungs from EV companies for pushing their products. Thanks for the comment and view.
Public service announcement from Mr chumnly-Warner. Love it. 😂
All the testing I've seen shows you should dump the plugs and use strips.
All the personal experience shows me I shouldn't.
@@jtchivers One of the videos I watched showed each of the methods (and there's a few more) being stress tested and the strips were by far the best and safest. You do you though. Love the pump though. YMMV
Nice that!

I was there in Glasgow Apollo for the show - superb gig !!
Loved your review of this motorcycle. I have ridden one of these and they are superb. The brake stopping power is up there with any litre sports bike 🏴🤓👍.
Wow!
Perfect everything, especially that guitar tone and bass tone. Ridiculous ear candy.
Oh god thank you for this....
Brilliant stuff John!
Saw this Tour in Oakland Ca. I have never witnessed anything like it! It ruined me…nothing else ever compared 🥲
I saw this show in Rotterdam in '77. It was great! Remarkable how much they sound like the original studio album.
Steve Howe and Chris Squire duo-handedly pushed this song. Of course Rick is great, Jon is Jon, and I think the drummer is Alan or maybe Bill......either one, it's still a fun tune to play.
It's Alan on drums and I'm bound to say as a drummer that it's the rhythm section - Alan and Chris - who are driving it, as can be heard in the studio sessions for the track. 😃 The interplay between Alan and Chris is just beautiful, especially those ghost notes Alan is putting in on the snare and Chris is playing on the bass to really fill out the rhythm and keep it driving. czcams.com/video/hAQDL-tvd6U/video.html
@@jtchivers Well hello to you from a fellow drummer. Drummers are the heartbeat of every band.......however......I'm also a guitarist, flutist, bassist, and keyboardist and I have my druthers too. YES is a conglomeration of well rehearsed and very talented musicians that, as a group, have produced some magnificent tunes. I picked my favorite two, you choose yours. Parallels is in the key of C Major which makes it even more fun to play. It's one of my favorite warm up tunes no matter what instrument I feel like playing on any given day. The only member of the group I can't hold a candle to is Jon..........what an outstanding voice, second to none. Keep on rockn'....
Hi John, thanks for your video it's very helpful. One question if I may: how do you send route embbeded waypoints from Basecamp to a Garming GPS? When I'm navigating the GPS, I'd like to see on the GPS screen the waypoints I've added to the route when creating it. I've manage to send across the route itself but not the waypoints. Many thanks. Pedro
Hi Pedro. Assuming you're connecting the unit to PC/Mac running Basecamp, sending the route to the GPS will include any Waypoints used in the route automatically. You don't need to send them separately. If it isn't doing that, something isn't set up correctly. I'm assuming you mean Waypoints in the true meaning of what Basecamp calls Waypoints and the GPS unit calls Favourites and you don't mean shaping points.
@@jtchivers Thanks for your feedback. Yes I'm connected to a PC and running Basecamp. Google Earth calls these points as Placemarks while Basecamps call them Waypoints. I've also seen people calling them POI's Points of interest... These POI's are sent to the GPS along with the route but not shown on screen during navigation since they are not embbeded in the route. Instead, they are stored within 'Where To?' and then within 'Saved' which doesn't help much as you can't see them while navigating. Any tip will be highly appreciated. Thank you
When I heard this song 40 years ago, I thought that portent melody was by Rick Wakeman keyboards and was for me marvelous, but some years later I realized that it really was a Steve Howe gitar play, double unbelievable...
Excellent. It would be interesting to also know your charging times, average speeds, with and without. And the efficiency in mile per KWh
Thanks! I started off logging that, then missed a couple when concentrating on other things, so abandoned the plan. I did a better job of logging stats on the Land's End to John O'Groats to Skaw trip on my own Energica Eva Ribelle in June 2022.
I always had thought how they would organise charge points is that you book a time slot, so you know you won’t be waiting/ stuck. Shame this was not the case.
It's an idea that a few people have suggested, but it would tie you down to a very specific route and timings and would effectively mean that if you didn't meet those for some reason, you might not be able to charge, because someone else had booked times around your original plans. I wouldn't personally want that and it really wouldn't have helped me, but might have made things worse on this journey. It's worth pointing out that charging infrastructure is further improved since I filmed this if I'd had a bit more knowledge of the bike and the potential issue with the locking pin and how to overcome that, the last section of the first day's ride in Cornwall would have gone better.
I used to listen to this on my Victrola when it first came out.
Didn't some get stabbed today in ackers
Always a special like and comment for my fellow youtubers who put an extra effort to make precise captions.
Thanks! Yes, it's only fair to create them, if I'm doing a script for the video anyway. It makes videos far more accessible to a global audience. Now subscribed to you.

Be nice on a day when the Sun Simulator isn't behind clouds and the chemtrailing is visible🤣
It would certainly be better in sunnier weather, but it was still great without the sunshine and it could have (and was supposed to have) been much worse!
Hi, Thanks a lot. I think, it would make no point to fit in the DC charger to such bike. I see only added value in not carrying the charging cable, coz the battery is really small. It would be great to see the real range with max regenerative breaking as in my Tesla it does more than 25% of energy added to the battery, and therefore, it safes the breaks and prolong the range massively. Have a great day
Interesting "dropping out of hyper-space" noises it makes on the overrun and it certainly tips in to corners nicely. If only I had the money.
Yes, the sounds are actually great. Certainly not a cheap purchase price tag, but then the running costs are significantly lower than petrol engine bikes. With my higher than average mileage, it's actually easier to justify, though I admit, this was a purchase out of desire more than practicality, but then I do many more miles on two than four wheels and some people apparently think nothing about spending considerably more on a car.
Very good I can't believe only 353 views

Tell that to marc from Marc travels about electric bikes touring he has a naked zero not as good as an energica
I've been following Marc since his UK trip and I actually think he is better off with an AC charging bike for the journey he's undertaking and his own circumstances of not being in a particular hurry. Personally, I would have chosen the Zero DSR/X (as per my video at czcams.com/video/Z1RKE5p655Q/video.html) or my own former Zero model , the DSR, since either are better suited to off-road riding than the SR/F, but Marc bought what he could and he's managing pretty well. The reason I'd go for a Zero over an Energica on such a trip is down to the faster AC charging on a Zero and the higher availability of AC charging on such a journey. With a 6 kW charging set-up on my old Zero DSR, I could charge in around 90 minutes. It would take twice that with my Energica, with slower AC charging. The 24 kW DC charging possessed by the Energica range is brilliant when you can use it (in nations with higher provision of rapid charging), but not in places with low availability of DC rapid charging, where the Zero range will typically charge faster than an Energica on a dedicated AC Type 2 connection. Taking the rapid-charging DC Harley Davidson bikes over the AC charging Zero DSR was a mistake Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor made on their Long Way Up trip, meaning they were having to wait four times as long to charge on dedicated AC points than it used to take me with my Zero DSR. That said, there's little difference if charging wholly on domestic power sockets.
Hello John Chives hang on is the english version of autobahn by kraftwerk from 1991
No, it's my translation, as mentioned in the description text. Autobahn was originally recorded in 1974. The 1991 version is the shorter re-recording they did.
hello John Chives can I please use your remix version of motorway by kraftwerk on a video that I am working on right now?
It's not a remix. I recorded it from scratch. None of the audio is from Kraftwerk's 1974 original version of Autobahn, their 1991 re-recording on The Mix/Das Mix or anyone else's version. I've turned off use of this in remixes, so if you want to use the piece, you should use one of the versions by Kraftwerk and give proper credit to the original creators, who similarly are the ones who (quite rightly) benefit from any monetisation of my cover version.

AWESOME !! THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS UP. FROM SEDONA, ARIZONA 🇺🇲
I was there in Rotterdam. Best Yesshow I ever saw (seen them about 12 times). The energy that came from the stage. It was incredible.
Very impressed, I forgot I wasn't listening to a professional band.
Thanks, Mark! It's incredible how well virtual instruments have come along over the last few years. I think of it as "drummers' revenge", given how readily we tub-thumpers were easily replaced with drum machines back in the 1980s. 😁 Now, so long as you have a musical ear and reasonable understanding of music theory, it's possible to put these kind of thing together if you can play some keyboard. Ironically, I think you can't beat playing a live drum set (electric or acoustic) though for the best results.
Do a cover of live version of autobahn
I was hoping for an English translation (updated to reflect 2024 road conditions) e.g. there's more 'stehening' than 'fahrening' occurring these days. Here's an initial proposal: 🎶 Motorway [We'll take the others as read] 30 miles of variable speed Wish we'd stopped now, wish I'd peed Motorway etc. Road surface riddled with holes, Middle lane hogged by Poles Motorway etc. Speedo reaches 75, range predicter says we won't arrive Motorway etc. Bigger turbo, bigger bore; we have ways of making you torque Motorway etc. 🎶
