Thanks as ever for the kind words & encouragement - first I should clarify one thing, this was my final guide, the final video is the next 2042 one! I articulated it better at the end 😅 the next and final 2042 is my farewell with all my favourite moments. Then, that is truly the end for me and 2042. Nightbirds to me are the living embodiment of imbalance. I was flying one last night after thinking “why not?”, my goodness I shredded my lobby. No vehicle survived it, I not only had an answer for everything but it was so damn easy. I think what gets me is the way players celebrate / cheer / post their kill streaks in a vehicle which is just so unfair. But yes as you say, it makes killing them all the more glorious 🫡

The is is very true - 2 engineers on their game repairing & using the RPG is immense

It’s my last one in the Helis, the next BF2042 is the actual final one - I’m going out with a bang! I’ve got some BFV to show, a little BF1 (even though I don’t really like it to be honest) and some Hell Divers. What I’m really waiting for though is Space Marine 2. Can’t wait to get my Nerd on and start delivering the Emperor’s Peace to Xeno scum & Heretics. The Emperor Protects :3

Thanks very much! I’ve got at least one more in me but then yeah, I think the sun has set on any wisdom I can impart for the game. I really only aim to help people get started as I know it can be frustrating, especially when the games player base is mature & the skill level is already pretty high. I’m in love with BFV, the Tank gameplay is second to none. Going to post a glorious tank battle next! Last BFV vid didn’t do well but that’s probably my fault - I’ll try again!

You’ve got to give it a shot, it’s a Beast. Deeply deeply underrated since 5.3 turned the Attack Helis into OP monsters. I’m glad they were nerfed as it’s bringing challenge / cooperation back into the game. Now they just need to seriously tone down the NB and we may have some BaLaNcE in the skies! Would love to see a vid of you flying, make it happen! Let me know if you need a gunner ;)

Correct - it’ll still be guided in. Just stay on the target. This lets you maximise uptime / DPS and really burn down Wildcats. Patch 5.3 really was hilarious, I’m amazed they left it this long to nerf it! Still powerful though

They’re all dead - nobody to lock me 😂 To answer seriously though, and I know you’re quite the pilot yourself - you get a sense in advance of attacking the Stinger Engineers how many there are from the lock on aim warning. If I see 4-5 flashing on me then I stay away. If I only see 1-2 (maybe 3 if grouped) I’ll go for it. 6 seconds with a back up gunner is more than enough to clean house and get away.

I really can’t stand the Nightbird its absolutely OP and to this day I refuse to use it. I like firing out of its passenger seat & using it to transport me around the map though. The Attack Heli is really tough when it’s damaged you’re right, turns into a brick. NB doesn’t of course!!

I agree, the night bird makes the game so much worse. They should remove the secondary missiles and remove one equipment slot like the stealth heli and make them pick between repair or flares

​@kingqman8250 with its agility I feel it should have a much closer engagement range. Keep the speed at which it moves but now being closer to inf. and vehicles it needs that agility to survive.

I've thought about trying to find some folks on Reddit who want to practice their heli flying in a less populated Portal server, then I can practice my gunning for them. However, with the game coming to an end and Delta Force coming out here shortly, which will likely steal many of the BF players, not sure how many are really interested in the game that much any more.

@@TheSoldierChristian Yes, send me a friend request @ 'WildcatSupport', I try to play a couple hrs each day, usually during the day as I'm retired. In fact anyone who is a vehicle driver or pilot, of any kind, who is looking for someone reliable to gun/rep for them send me a friend request...! I normally play in the Wildcat, because I think its the vehicle that most benefits from a support player but I'll play in any vehicle. I never abandon vehicles, no matter how damaged, I either go down with the ship or if I'm out repairing and the vehicle dies but I don't, I make my way back to the vehicle spawn base to hop back in. Give me a good driver I'll stick with them the whole game.

I’ll fly with you - let’s make it happen. I’ve got experience playing with UWS on the US servers, we should be fine. Failing that I’m back in London next week.

Thanks I really appreciate it, listen I'm really not that good a player either I've just put in my best college try to help people access the game. So long as you're having a good time and at least occasionally get your moment -- you're doing just fine. As my boss said to me at work when we were in for a rough meeting: you can't polish a turd, but we can at least cover it in glitter! Sometimes all we can do is the best we can :D

Well I'm not a good player either, especially running and gunning but I've definitely become a better engineer thanks to Timeless, no question about it.

Great tip and thanks for the support! Draugr… the only thing I might do a vid on there is pairing the JDAMS with the SOFLAM to see if we can make a real spawn camping vehicle killer. I wouldn’t mind seeing that. Otherwise no I don’t think I will - it doesn’t play differently enough from a Jet to really justify it, and dipping kerosene bombs on objectives is quite an obvious thing to do! I’m not sure what the vid would even be about?

​@timelessgamer_UK it would be nice to see a video of you working Cabal and a Casper drone player. Casper would spot everyone as close air support rains hell on the objectives. Like a Casper with voice chat is insane with paired vehicle players. Drone and tugs make it super easy to clear out or defend objectives.

Once you learn the rocket pods they’re brutal. The 30mm is good if you’re truly being backed into a corner in the air by a NB but you lose the ground game. For me it’s something to help new players learn.

I have to admit I have a bias towards hunting vehicles -- you're definitely right that Crawford is the better in a choke point situation.

At first I liked the shenanigans, laughing at guys like Knul and Squid killing folks in funny ways.. but...I stopped watching, the trolling is getting to be too much, sure its fun for them but what about those being trolled, some folks just want to play, the way they want, without all the nonsense. Many of these folks are not great players, just play casually and being trolled by people with thousands and thousands of hrs playtime for YT views is annoying. Lets see Knul and Squid go into Hazard Zone and try that crap against more skilled players and it wont be nearly as funny for them.

@@Eric-qx1kx Shenanigans to me means things like the C5 buggy, riding the pond hawk and the such. Every now and then I enjoy teaming up and 'trolling' as we did in the 4 x Lis video. It's rare, but I do consider it a 'victimless crime'. OK, so your tank got blown up. You're never going to meet me again in this way, respawn and everything will be fine. Also with Knul, if you watch what he's doing at least in my assessment it's highly skilled -- and nobody is forcing these players to use the spawn beacon they just got killed next to... it's perhaps a bit of an education? What I don't support is team sabotage / dropping crates on your own / wasting vehicles / driving or flying your friends out of bounds / stealing a vehicle when the driver hops out to repair etc.. I also don't support and never have called a player crap or embarrassed them in a vid. God knows I could have, but I don't. Knul and Squid underneath the jokes are absolutely sensational players, way better than me. They're also hugely positive about the game. For me, that gives them an A+ rating unlike others who seem to build their entire platform on the game being crap. I think you know who I mean...

@@timelessgamer_UK Oh yes I know who you mean...I get that its his schtick to be super negative, cry and moan about everything, he gets a lot of like-minded supporters.....BUT...good grief, its so incredibly annoying the way he goes about it. Like a spoiled little child who only wants his own way. For example CAD woman has been critical of the game at times, or frustrated maybe is a better word but in a much more constructive manner. As far as Squid and Knul, they are incredible players but trolling some casual battledads incessantly has gotten annoying. Squid dropped a vehicle on a teammate the other day who was up on a building just minding his own business spotting and I thought, 'screw that' I've had enough with crap. There is only so many times you can watch a guy stand near a spawn beacon and bash someone with Dozers shield, gets old.

Since going back and playing BF1 and BFV, I've realised 99% of Ender's channel comments are from people who truly, truly have no idea. They're just repeating party lines. Stopped listening a long time ago.

Thanks for the detailed response & insight. For BF1 I fully admit I’ve not played it much (12 hours as of this message) and I’m coming from a game where rushing / flanking is the way. I found Assault lacked any variety in its weapons so far, and the Sweet Spot? I’m just not a fan. It’s way too easy to drop a player working towards an objective with no risk to the Recon player unless there’s another one on the other side doing the same thing / in range. Personally I think it’s fine that an Assault player and single fire tap kill a recon with 3-4 shots if we see them within a reasonable range. Perhaps it’s just the way I was “raised” coming in at BF2042, but BF1 forces me to slow way way down & really work hard to dig out static recon players who know their ranges and simply aren’t moving. Once you know the range of your gun, there’s no point trying to play any different. It’s almost like Pokémon - you either have the right stats to win the fight or you don’t. BF1 was very heavily promoted to me by 2042 friends and I’ve had a good time with it, and I’ll always be happy to have an evening on it to inject some much needed BF variety as 2042 is so light on quality maps. I’ll keep working away and try to get better. So far what I’m loving most as the Leviathans and multi-player aircraft. That’s brining something really unique, having a huge amount of fun in the air. Thanks again, really appreciate the insight. As I say I’ll try to get better. Definitely not making a BF1 vid until I’ve raised my game considerably.

@@timelessgamer_UK oh definitely, I went on a bit of a rant and i appreciate the detailed response. I dont want to come accross as attacking you for liking any battlefield. I just wanted to explain why bf1s gunplay was the most different. That doesnt mean it is intuitive or user friendly. because of its difference, its often held up to be the best. And you are right, the assault class is probably the least varried of the classes as far as smgs are concerned, yet there are cases were where ever SMG can show it's TRUE potential where others cannot. I like bf1 but it's kind of my own personal bias and acquired taste. I like bf5 but I think it's the one I had the least positive view of because I was there for the launch and subsequent mismanagement of its weapon balance. I am only getting back into the franchise with 2042 and I'm getting used to it again. As far as tanks in bf1 go, try the french assault tank (looks like a toaster with a REALLY long gun jutting out the front. It might be a little closer to your play style.

Please don’t worry didn’t interpret anything you said as an attack, enjoy the conversation. I understand I’m seeing BFV as the final product & not the launch issues. I lived through 2042 so know all about false starts! I’ve seen the French tank, I must give it a go soon. It’s just really hard to get a vehicle in BF1! Honestly I like them all and I’ve landed in a good place cycling through them based on mood each time I’m free. I think BFV has the best tank play (it’s epic) whilst 2042 is the most fun for me as infantry or in the helis if that’s my mood. BF1 is great when I’ve got at least one friend to get into a vehicle with or we can have a medic on our team to revive all the sweet spot death 😅

Updated attack heli and stealth guide coming out tomorrow! Hope it helps, a lot has changed. On the RPG / getting shot down, I don’t really have a direct answer other than I do try not to fly too predictably & certainly never hover over player dense areas. Lis missiles have a clear audio warning so I can dodge them, but RPGs are silent one hit killers. If you’re getting hit by one from 250m away, was it by chance an AI heavy lobby? The AI are notoriously good M5 shots. Other than that I don’t have anything much to offer - if there’s a player good enough to consistently hit you with an unguided silent rocket from 250m away, I’d be as dead as you or anyone else! I’ve landed a few such shots myself (all on the channel), it does happen!

@@timelessgamer_UK lol...serious..?? I'll be watching of course..! I'm a pretty decent gunner and I could not hit shite on the ground, except for my EMP shots. Seems like maybe its better suited to helping in dogfights but we did not have any in that game. Of course we were eventually taken out by Lis finally towards the end of the game but it was fun while it lasted. Something about the quietness up there, while chaos looms below, was interesting and different...just wish I could have been more helpful.

Seems like any time aircraft pilots cry about something, its get nerfed but yet just ignore Wildcat players who have been calling for APS for ages. The overall balance between vehicles and infantry isn't too horribly bad but could be better with a few simple changes IMO..... give the WC APS, put AA guns(that can be destroyed and repaired by engineers) in all bases, completely get rid of C5 but increase the number of AT grenades one can carry, make vehicles have to resupply ammo.

Well fair enough, I mean obviously I don’t agree they’re not relevant as I picked them, but we each have our priorities. You know I’m a fan of your work so don’t misread my tone just having a chat here but - I think you’re dead wrong. Yes of course 2042 has the major problem of rubbish maps and very low content. We know that, it doesn’t need repeating for the 50,000th time and we’re looking to the future here. We don’t need to go over how bad launch was - we know!! Take a moment to consider: Tank (ground vehicle) gameplay is massively important to a great many players, and 2042 & BFV could not be more different. Try playing either title like you would the other and you will die miserably. Tactics and what you can / cannot expect to pull off are radically different. Same with air power and resupply. If you’re into vehicle gameplay, I actually can’t think of a more important question having played 2042, BFV, BF1 and starting BF4. Honestly and I know you won’t like this BF4 is so old now it hardly feels relevant to even discuss it. It was an epic game back in the day I’m sure and I’m sad to have missed it - but having gone into it cold with no nostalgia? Sorry but I think a lot of gamers are seeing it through very rose tinted glasses. Talking about Specialist equipment - just pick any channel discussing this. Ban the riot shield, ban wing suit, ban TGM TV missiles. Well not to burst some peoples’ bubbles but a lot of gamers actually like these additions and don’t want to see them go. Others want to be able to use whatever weapon they want. Think on BF1, you going to give the assault class the Lewis gun? Changes everything. BG2042 was the Wild West before season 4 but the changes now introduced I actually think are really good. I don’t want to see these specialist items vanish. Lots of people don’t. BFV is actually a little dull as infantry as they’re just so bloody vanilla - the glory of that game is in its tanks and aircraft. One of the reasons a lot of ppl I know packed in 2042 is because of how ridiculously powerful aircraft are - and they are. People complain about the TOR all day long but when have you see in it 90-0 round after round? You’re the last person who needs to be told about how a NB sweat (hacker too, we know who they are) ruins a round - and you yourself leaned heavily on Lis to counter this. Can you imagine the next BF having aircraft these powerful but no TGM? I would play a week. The last point about fun is probably the most important. 2042 is actually fun - there’s so much to do especially with specialist equipment. I’ve played BF1 for 12 hours now and honestly I’m bored of it. Fine, maybe I’m not understanding it but again without nostalgia? It’s an 8 year old game that lacks the dynamism & fun of 2042. Maps, visuals, sound etc are astoundingly good but underneath all that? Very basic game by comparison. If engineer wasn’t as fun as it is, honestly I’d of stopped playing a long time ago. Anyway again - just having a chat here. Big fan of what you do & respect your opinion greatly, much more so than many others that’s for sure. But to end - I think the issues in this vid are far from irrelevant.

No idea who the original poster is but its a combined arms game, obviously the balance between infantry and armor is absolutely critical IMO.

They’re a great player, massive respect for them doing great work on the Asian servers. One of the few who is willing to stand against some pretty unpleasant characters who can make the game a bit miserable, especially at their peak.
