BATTLEFIELD 2042: Season 5 "Reclaimed" Gameplay with RPG, AT Grenade, Anti-Air and Apache

- Season 5 of Battlefield 2042 (BF2042) is finally here, and in addition to a new map (Reclaimed) we've got new Portal weapons & vehicles changes. I wanted to take the weekend to really enjoy the new content, and am now reporting in with a short summary of my time with a focus on the RPG, AT Mines, Anti Air (Centurion C-RAM, 35mm Wildcat and LATV AA cannons) and some Apache flying. Also a generous amount of Lis and Lissiles at the end.
I had huge fun, and am completely staying away from any strategy, commentary or other such advice in this video. This is purely for fun and I hope you guys all had a blast too. Special thanks at the end to all of you and especially Marzipan Dan for that extremely kind promo he gave on his channel.

Really liking the RPG aggression - no scoping is great. You couldn’t resist just adding at the end with all those shots that Lis is still better, could you! And yes I got the Naruto joke 😅👍
I’m really enjoying the new content. Need to get on it to unlock the RPG. Extra points for getting Con Air in there as well, I’m impressed!
That player turned up at just the right time didn’t he - even another Crawford, it was perfect!
The RPG is great fun, very different from the Lissile but still have the satisfaction of vehicle hunting. I expect great things from it!

I lost it with that Naruto reference. I saw the video pop up, and I was like, "Where is this going?" I don't think you could have coordinated that better than it actually turned out xD

It was pure luck, it was even another Crawford - and the way they ran in and out, you couldn’t have asked for better! First thing that came to mind. I think I may be a bit old, not sure how many people are going to recognise the Con Air reference but it’s a cracking film. I’m loving the rush style of the RPG / M5. Lis is great but she is by design a slower play style. This is a perfect place for me - new style of play but not giving up my love of hunting armour.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it. I’ve seen a lot of negative stuff rolling in about season 5 so I decided to stay up late tonight to get this out. I’m going to stick up for this game - it’s not perfect but it doesn’t deserve the heat it’s getting given the state they’ve got it to today. Just my view!
@timelessgamer4359 I had seen the Con air clip before, but I didn't know what it was from until I read the comment that came before mine xD One of Nic Cages best imo.
They have done a lot to turn the game around. It's definitely very fun. Here's hoping that they stick with it for a bit, give us more maps and content, and don't release the next BF in such a rough state!
It was all about John Malkovich for me as Cyrus the Virus - such a boss character!
Yeah I agree about the release & never doing this again, but that’s all history to me now. All I meant was if you picked up the game today with a clean slate / MIB memory wiped, you’d be pretty happy with it less the no campaign issue. I dunno, guess I’d just like to see some of the bigger creators smile from time to time :)

It's so satisfying destroying vehicles. My all time favorite is Lis with AT mines plus smoke :P btw, keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot - I’m loving the RPG. Speed, rapid no scoping and high damage. It’s great to be able to have such a different style from Lis but still be an Engineer. Looking forward to season 5

Thanks so much for letting me know & taking a chance with the channel - I always try to put at least one thing into a video I didn’t know / realistically expect others might not either. I’m a huge fan of the game & it’s an excellent relax when work is done & the family in bed (I’m a bit of a nightshift player). I also don’t mind showing that I’m not exactly the world’s greatest but you don’t have to be to enjoy the game. Regular guys like me can have a perfectly good night!

Yeah I’m out in Singapore. I can alway work around timezones for special occasions but the problem we had when playing together was the latency. It’s just not viable - unless you want to sit in the back for a helicopter / CAV repairing all round or playing Angel & just calling in crates for the squad 😌

Yeah this map is really helping with the landmine and Lis T1. Really loving the AT mine aswell. I know EMPs are great but just imagine you're trading the effect of an EMP for actual damage. I've finished off so many vehicles with it just in the last week.
What can I say I’m in love with the EMP. I had and am having really good fun with the AT mines too. I think one of the reasons why I hold on to the EMP is the hijack possibility…
Yeah AT Mine and Lis kills are pretty easy here, but I’m going for my RPG at the moment. What do you think of S5? I was a little disappointed with the 35mm wildcat but could just be me using it wrong…
@@timelessgamer_UK I cannot speak on the wildcat 35mm or the RPG because I haven't used them yet. But I am quite happy with S5 overall. It's what I wanted S4 to be I think. I was very pumped for S4 but the cosmetics were lacking for me and Flashpoint was the first disappointing map. Reclaimed has made up for that, and while the lack of actual new or portal weapons is unfortunate, the cosmetics have gone into new territory without crossing the line into absurdity. Just unlocked the Desert Eagle tonight last thing, cannot wait to try it out tomorrow.
I need to try out the D’Eagle - honestly I’ve barely scratched the surface of the content. Let me know how it goes!
Spearhead was my favourite season map so far, flashpoint didn’t feel too bad for me. I think Exposure is the worst for me, as it’s too time consuming to move from the valley to the mountain top. It just slows down the whole round, you know? Flashpoint at least kept the tempo
@@timelessgamer_UK I love Exposure but your argument is completely valid. I just group it in with maps I call "spawn and defend maps". Basically they're maps where traversal from certain flags to another is not worth the hike. Take Exposure, if I spawn up top or at B I'm staying there to defend. I'm not jumping down to C and D because fuck that. Vice versa as well.
Hourglass is another one, I'll either go between the city points, or the desert points. I'm not running between them.
Spearhead was amazing, and Stranded does have it's moments (and is not a "spawn amd defend map", you can easily run all over the joint).
Like you, I just can't wait to dive in to more S5. Be safe and I look forward to more content. Keep trying new things!

Thanks! Yes I did change the sound, also on the Bolte video too. Some people kindly helped me to calibrate it better. All the hardware is the same. Through my headphones I couldn’t really hear the difference, but I’ve got the settings locked down & we should be good from here!

Also, if you use a Lissile on the new turret it kills the people inside, if not blows up the turret. Don't know if I've just been lucky so far (with the turret on low health) but I've gotten a few kills with it.
Yeah I got a Lissile kill in this vid, you’re correct it does exactly as you say. It’s very easy to flame whomever is inside. Still, it’s a fun addition to the map and I’ve downed more than one heli with it

I know it isn’t fashionable to say this but… looking back on it, a lot of titles made the same mistake: 1) launched during Covid vs just saying it’s delayed guys - sorry; and 2) trying to make a game that spanned old and new Gen consoles when there was such a performance gap. Cyberpunk and many others had exactly the same problem. Lesson for me to CEOs: don’t let deadlines determine release. They lost a lot of money over this for the sake of getting a little cash in earlier. Especially a firm like EA, it’s not like you couldn’t afford to wait it out.
My sincere hope is that those is the community who are really laying into the Devs stop it immediately. We’re years away from the next BF, and if Devs are constantly being screamed at / disrespected they will not want to work on this project. It’s sad that there’s so many clicks in the market in ripping into them. This is how it works in the real world - if a project is viewed internally as a lost cause / toxic, the talent won’t go there. They really need to realise that before they blow their own foot off. None of this is excusing the state the game was launched in - I’m talking about today, going forward.

For me its the opposite with the rpg. Feels terrible against infantry but so damn fun against vehicles :)
So interesting - it’s too early to draw any real conclusions on this but so far so good, it’s absolutely fragging anyone reasonably within the splash zone if I aim at their feet. It’s so dangerous being a transport heli now I’m getting RPG’ed to hell and back! It is absolutely cracking against vehicles.

It’s my mission in every round of BF to take out vehicles, whether on foot or in one myself. Extra special effort will be applied to any Stealth or Nightbird Pilot on a +10 kill streak or anyone I catch spawn camping.
