Jeep 4 Dirt
United States
Registrace 20. 03. 2016
If you like off-roading in the West or Southwest, welcome.
Fran and I left the flat plains of Chicago for the mountainous deserts of Arizona. We love doing what our 2024 Jeep Rubicon, with its 17" tires and 3.5 inch lift, does best; traverse rocks and dirt. Many out of these trails and destinations are out of the way and lightly traveled.
We travel by ourselves. We exit our comfort zone, embrace risk, test our skills, and often our courage.
We hope to inspire others to boldly go where they have never gone before.

Hieroglyphic Mountains Loop is steep, narrow, tippy with beautiful vista mountain views
This loop is contained in the Boulders OHV area near Phoenix Arizona. We used our front camera on several occasions when all we could see was hood and sky.

The McDowell Sonoran Preserve contains over 30,000 acres of pristine Sonoran desert habitat in Scottsdale and over 200 miles of great trails.
Magnificent Grand Canyon North Rim
zhlédnutí 46Před dnem
This was our first trip to the north rim and we loved the many contrasts with the south rim; fewer visitors, cooler temperatures, alpine environment and bison. We then traveled into Southern Utah and Grand Escalante NM and have posted videos from that part of our trip as well.
Magnificent White Pocket located in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument
zhlédnutí 49Před dnem
White Pocket, located within a remote desert expanse of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument near the Arizona/Utah border, is a phantasmagorical collection of eroded colorful cliffs and valleys painted in warm hues. As we wandered through the irregular and unique formations we marveled at the solitude and peacefulness of our surroundings.
Toadstool Hoodoos
zhlédnutí 19Před 14 dny
Located in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the Toadstool Hoodoos are a great place to explore. The balanced rock formations look like mushrooms and offer awe-inspiring views that enchant. The toadstools, located between Kanab UT and Page AZ, are easy to access via a moderate 1.5-mile round-trip hike.
The Nautilus
zhlédnutí 96Před 14 dny
The Nautilus is a unique gem hidden in the desert between Page, AZ and Kanab, UT. It feels as if you are exploring a large twisty seashell. The Nautilus is located near the small and wonderfully remote White House Campground. We recently camped there for 5 nights and on 3 of the nights we had the entire campground to ourselves.
Beautiful Slot Canyon in Southern Utah
zhlédnutí 65Před 14 dny
Wire Pass Trail, located about 8 miles off House Rock Valley Road, a scenic well maintained dirt road 1 hour east of Kanab, UT, at 3.7 miles round trip, is the perfect day hike. For the first mile of this trail, you walk along a stream bed between low sandstone cliffs. You then step into the slot canyon and you are in for a treat. We enjoyed the beauty of the light streaming in from above and t...

At the start of the video, is your campground, the WHite House Campground? Thank you
Yes it is. We spent 5 nights there and had the entire campground entirely to ourselves for 3 of the nights. I have linked 2 shorts re the campground. @@jeep4dirt thought I recognized it ! Did u head East to Soap Creek Tank and the 3000 ft view East over Lee's Ferry?
@@rubiconadventurewithscotty3258 We did not bc we did not explore that far bc our trip started on the North Rim and we did not have enuf time to go further east
How long did it take to complete the loop? How were the temperatures (ambient & engine fluids)?
It took about 5 hours but u can do it in less if u don't fly a drone etc. The air temp started out around 85 and was about 105 when we finished. I did not check engine/fluid temps other than 2 view the main temp gauge which remained in the middle of the normal range. Thx for watching and commenting.

Looks like a great trail. Run it South to North? Looking at OnX map....not sure how you got to it, without going on Terminator, Boulder Creek or Tip Top access rd, (which I thought was closed)??? Have a track/gpx?
Do u have the Funtreks book? It is Trail #37 in the book.
@@jeep4dirt Thanks for the info. Yep, got the Wells book. But that's #37, "Black Canyon City Overlook" trail (also known as Road to Nowhere), the "Backway to Black Canyon City" is a different trail, on West side of 17 starting up by Upper Terminator, then heads North. "Overlook" is generally rated moderate, and "BackWay" is rated easier.
I renamed the video because I realized that the title can be confusing. Thank u for bringing the problem to my attention. BTW, TrailsOffroad has the trail listed as Moores Gulch, although only as a scout route.
Love the new Jeep! Looks great!
thank u!
Why you having her move that gate?
She insisted on opening it.
Great video! You did an excellent job showing the essence of the trail with the different camera angles including the surrounding area to make me feel like I experienced being there. Also it was great incorporating some hiking as well because there is really neat stuff right off the trail but you will miss it if you don’t just get out of the jeep and get your boots dirty. Wonderful job!😊
Thank u. I always try to find different angles and perspectives. It is rewarding when someone recognizes and appreciates the effort. Have a gr8 day.
Nice job on the video! I agree running the trails less known are always fun.
Thank u.
Such an amazing video!
thank u i didn't know 3 would bloom that day
Nice video! Was this shot with a Go Pro or?
Thank u. For this video I used an Ace Pro although a Go Pro would have worked for the Rolls OHV portion. However, for the mountain biking section at night the Go Pro would not have worked. For low light, the Ace Pro is much much better than a Go Pro.
Good stuff! It was a great weekend, and you got some good dashcam GoPro footage of me flexing out a bit!
Good to see they fenced in the Pumpkin Patch.
I agree. Thx for watching.
Very cool place! I love the Jeep!
thx. we do 2
Hi There, I'm researching this same class for my 4Runner at Prairie City, CA. I noticed most of the Jeeps in your video are "built out". I don't have much experience off-roading and I only have a modest lift and sliders on my 4Runner at the moment. Did you find the class helpful? And was the course challenging? At any point was there a risk of breaking things? (my 4Runner is also my daily driver)
oops, I'm sorry, I just saw your comment and I notice that the 100 level course in PC is today so perhaps my reply will not be helpful. Yes the class was very helpful. Yes it was a bit challenging but not too hard. There was a risk of damage only if u did something very foolish or were not paying attention. However, I did not take the course in PC so perhaps the terrain where ur at is harder. I suggest u call Barlow and u will be connected to Paul who is very helpful and can answer your questions more specifically. Good Luck. BTW, we often go to Anza Borrego SP to hike and off-road. It is a gr8 place.
Looks familiar! Great group and loved Nena. Followed your recommendations and went to Outlaw Trail and Diamondback trail instead of Grand Canyon ;0) Dee
Hi Dee, Thank u. Fran and I enjoyed meeting u and Sanford. Last week we ran a trail that starts just West of I17 on Table Mesa Road, as opposed to East which is where Nena staged the classes. Here is a link to the video. czcams.com/video/TWYoFzcpPkg/video.html. In 2 weeks we will see Nena again for the 200 level courses. We are currently at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southern AZ. We brought our jeep and our RV. BTW, if u want to communicate with us outside of Utube, u can use this email address. shore_orbit0o@icloud.com Jim
