Either way with or without the traditional luchadore mask which is a trademark of Mexican heritage, he is still Rey Mysterio. Rey Mysterio is a humble dude with praise, style, and charisma. THANK YOU! its the truth, Rey was great in WCW in 96, greatest run. He has been potrayed as overly righteous, gullible, selfless, stuck in the past, has been. It sucks, he has wasted his last run with the same gimmick and morals. This is Rey Mysterio, he should of gone heel and been champion 2x already, at least IC. He could easily been absolutely over but he lets himself be a jobber in WWE. He is a great talent out of it. Im a proud Chicano and Rey and Shawn Michaels were my idols as a fan but it bothers that he puts himself out Super Mexican that falls short when it counts, this culture fights and goes hard and thats not being told.

I'm gonna speculate a bit here and say there probably were big plans for this guy initially. But they signed his regular WWE contract and then found out about the steroids later, but before the "competition" ended. So the stunt McMahon pulled at the end was them basically humiliating the guy in retaliation for wasting the time and money they spent trying ro build him up. They probably couldn't just fire him right away, eother because of PR or something in the actual contract, so they capped off Tough Enough by turning him inro a laughing stock that no one in the industry could ever take seriously, then just sat on his contract long enough that they could fire him once no one would even remember who he was. Either that or he managed to piss off McMahon in some way almost immediately after the contract was signed, and so they retaliated and left him in the wind until they uncovered the roid use and used it to rid themselves of him.

You should have seen him in WCW. His whole career was like his time at the WWF

So far I agree. John v aj for the wwe title I think this was 2017 idk if you already said that I've kinda been like half paying attention. I think all their matches were straight heat. WWE '12 was definitely a different breed, RTWM and universe mode both being complete unabridged chaos, the customization second only to 2k14, I remember sinking hours into universe just to see what wacky crap the game would cook up from show to show. I'd spent so much time on the game that it just outright refused to work on any ps3 I played it on after a while, not a scratch on the disc but no console would play it properly.

Rey had to deal with some BS in WCW too. Kevin Nash threw him like a lawn dart directly into a random building. And towards the end of the Monday night wars, the NWO forced him to take off his mask. It was super disrespectful.

Rey was a heel in WCW for a breif time period when he n Konnan rolled with the New Blood only that faction went absolutely nowhere cuz 1 the Millionaire's Club were written to be the heels while the NB's were supposed to be the faces only it did not work like that from a fan's perspective cuz guys like Book Page Nash n Flair had so much star power n were over as they were jus did not get boo'd in the slightest.

in all fairness, Dom Guiterrez was gettin stale as a face. it made sense for Dom to go full blown heel to later become Dirty Dom🤣😆😎🔥 i wouldn't say chavo was lame. he had his moments only the man could never get out of Eddie's shadow. the only push ever was being WWECW champion which wasn't saying much becuz nobody cared bout that belt from a fan's perspective.
