- WWE 2K24 trailer and news just dropped and holy, what a bomb. Not only did we get conformation that 40 years of WRESTLEMANIA IS BACK! But even more bombs were dropped! New features, new match types, details on new mechanics, new settings. SO MUCH NEWS and 90% of it is looking promising. In this short video I will discuss my thoughts and reactions to all the footage we just got from the WWE 2K24 trailer and all the news that was dropped on WWE.COM!

I'm not going to get my hopes up just because of a few announcements of match types and a WrestleMania showcase that could be floundered in a second by 2K. Staying cautiously optimistic is all you have to be.

I’m feeling mad hype about the game mainly because it’s been like 10 years since we got special guest referee
Apparently, the number of signature and finisher slots have been raised from 2 per wrestler to 5. This means that if certain moves have multiple variations in terms of position or animation, we can put them on the wrestlers without having to swap them out as much. Nice small detail I just saw.
Unfortunately, we will not be getting at least one match from every Mania. The number of matches in showcase mode is confirmed to be under 30, which sucks. 2K just doesn't seem to care much about Showcase mode wrestler restrictions or not.

Im personally excited to play as Superstar Billy Graham in the game. How it took this long to put him in the game is unknown to me. I hope we can get some other legends that haven't been featured much like Terry Funk, Bob Backlund, Mr. Wonderful, Wendi Richter, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, among others.
I think with Vince McMahon out of the picture, we'll be seeing some mended fences with legends who were at odds with the WWE.

I do not know, but it seems like 2k wanted to go all in with this game. A showcase so special, 40 years of the show that changed wrestling forever, could be an opportunity to make special deals with single wrestlers, like Edge, Jericho, Bryant, Big Show and Flair. The other companies could agree because would be a sort of advertisement. And also as a sign of gratitude not to the WWE, but to Wrestlemania.
i read a comment around time Edge went AEW that even if they could get the rights for stars signed to other companies, WWE themself might not want to include them since they could see it was "advertising another companies star"

2K24 has the potential to be straight up legendary. While yes, it will suck to see certain legends not be included due to contracts, I’m hoping 40 years can still be fun. Also the fact that Special Referee, Casket matches, and Gauntlet matches are coming back, HELL YEAH! Also the fact that the Ambulance match is making its console debut after being a DS exclusive for so long, I swear this is gonna be so fun😁.

Wrestlemania 20 - Undertaker vs Kane (just to hear slow chemical 😂)
Wrestlemania 21 - Michaels vs Kurt & Undertaker vs Orton
Wrestlemania 22 - Angle vs Mysterio vs Orton
I would definitely love to play through some of these along with the other great ones we got in 2k14 for the respective Mania's. One other match that I am honestly looking forward to playing is Wrestlemania 31 Roman VS Brock (just to revisit the Heist of the Century).
I don't think they're going to have any Orton matches that feature the Burn in my Light version or Slow Chemical Kane.

They use these same wrestlers ever single year. It’s really drawn out now.
I’d love to see more stuff like the legendary trilogy of the TLC matches between Hardy’s, E&C, and the Dudley’s from Attitude Era! Adding some of the WCW/ECW invasion stuff again would be cool too since this was a KEY part of WWE history.
I just hope universe mode actually expands rivalries. We had only one on one and tag rivalries for a while when we need triple threat/four way rivalries (even stuff like a ppv specific rivalry like elimination chamber and mitb but it probably won’t be there)

Me personally I like the cutscenes. It makes me feel like I'm really in the match. Plus its cool to look back at a lot of classics.
I like it alot more to but hate how you have to do stupid specific tasks to make it go forward.it should just play regardless of doing the move. It should just play by itself

2k14"s showcase is the best to exist but I started on 2k14 so I'm very excited to see 40 years of WM. No showcase has touched 30 years of mania since
U should go back and play the attitude era 1 in 13 that one was amazing too. Also stone colds in 16 was really really good.. I'd say those are my favorites,.. 13, 14 and 16 when it comes to showcase.

They’ve been giving most of the fans just about everything they have asked for and will only keep going. Game has all the tools to be ELITE. Now they just gotta put it in motion. This game can be an all-time great in the WWE game conversation if expectations are exceeded.
IQuit and Inferno would be nice and I hope we get crazy interactive backstage areas like in smackdown sym or hctp and pleaaaaase chain wrestling!!! I almost forgot the royal rumble entrances with the camera angle to the ramp
tbf i quit is basically like submission/last man standing submerged into one it got repetitive quickly tbf but inferno would be sick

But talking about submissions I really hope that it is possible to crawl to the ropes and get a rope break like in the svr games. I know its just a little gimmick and detail but i loved it back then tbh

This could be the greatest wrestling game of all time imo I think the last ten will be mid but 37-39 will be great i think. Casket match, SGR is back, AMBULANCE Match, Gauntlet match, myrise might be the best it’s ever been. Backstage brawl got even better. Im hyped!

This game won't be as cracked out as 2K14, but I'm still hopeful that this will be the best 2K game since 2K14.
I would love if they could work out some type of deal with AEW to get Ric Flair, Big Show and Jericho in the game, but they won't even attempt to do such a thing.
I would love a wwe competitive mode similar to fight night champion, where you can win matches until eventually you become number one contender for the title, and whoever is champion has to log on to defend their titles or else they vacate it. Also the rankings for players can be based on title wins, how long they was held and how good is your general win loss record. I'm not expecting it to be perfect but it coulr be refreshing for wwe and fans who want to really feel like a champion fighting players across your country and such

Expect 2K24 to be the new Here Comes The Pain. 2k just signed a new contract with the WWE last year. Not sure for how many years but WWE is expecting big things from this company

40 years of WrestleMania. Some matches that have been asking for YEARS.. Ad Nauseam. I feel like this could be the one game, the ONE Game that I can call the 🐐 post-2K14 (Yes I loved 2K23, but I felt like there was one piece missing from the puzzle).
Here we go, 2K24!
Once you play 23, theres no point of playing 22 but you can go back to 19 for a good experience

I hope they added weapons Collision from SVR 2011. And I also hope they Added Kane vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 14 and 20.
Now 2K needs to bring back features like Create a story, Custom Music, Create a Finisher.
They already got the referee match back so I think that could be a possibility for 2k25
They're never going to bring back Create a Finisher. It's just too goofy for their ultra realistic gameplay style. I want to be wrong though.
I doubt that Custom Music will ever come back due to possible copyright issues, but I will agree that Create-a-Finisher & Create-a-Story should come back, but a match type I believe needs to return is the 3 Stages of Hell.
I think Create A Story is the only one that would come out basically unchanged. Custom music can’t happen due to copyright stuff. And create a finisher, will definitely not come out as the same mode it was.
Definitely don't see them bringing create-a-finisher back unless it gets major tweaks. Kids were making the most broken and irreversible finishers imaginable to use them online and cheese for wins. It was SUPER toxic, lol.
Wwe 2k22 was a great base for the future of 2k games, we're now living the benefits of it, since 22 we've got a new combat system, war games +these new match types, better graphics, gm mode, decent dlc packs, better covers and now a fuck ton of stages, and new camera angles. Yes it took literally 10 years since 2k14 but we're here
I genuinely hope they bring back a lot of features that have been gone like ultimate controls, dripping blood, better physics like in ladder matches you can fall on the ropes depending on how the ladder is angled and smoother animations for example if your opponent is chasing you and your about to enter the ring they should have an animation to stop you and you should have an animation to reverse it also more reversal animations… as far as the wrestlemania mode hopefully instead of getting in game/ real life cutscenes it should all be in game allowing you to pull off the iconic moments in gameplay and have them carry on to the gameplay in general outside the mode

Really I feel like your the first person who despise about switch gameplay to actual footage on the showcase I actually like it because it make it feel like some anime shut or someone telling the story with some good music that actually feels right for the scene

I just want to clarify that it's not confirmed yet that all Wrestlemania arenas are going to be in the game. Also, I really doubt we can get 39-40 matches in the showcase, seems very unlikely to happen.

Not every match needs cutscenes
It wouldn't make any sense to not have every arena unlockable in the game. It would be a missed opportunity and you couldn't call it 40 years of WrestleMania if you didn't have a match from every year
@@WrestlinGifs You're right, but I don't know man. To me WWE 2K14 was a whole different game compare to other 2K games. Since the showcase mode return in WWE 2K22, they barely put the proper matches. Rey Mysterio and Cena's was just so disappointing.
For me, what they are going to do is put the main rivalries that end in Wrestlemania. Like Stone Cold and Bret, Stone Cold and The Rock, Bret vs HBK maybe...I really doubt they're going to give us 40 matches in the showcase.

WM 40 is gonna be a custom arena just like how WM 30 was in 2k14.
Probably the release version for the Showcase, but I think the fact that they're waiting until after release for the official arena is a good sign that some effort might be put into it.

Excellent video as always. All your thoughts are correct, especially with this "beautiful" company called 2K. For me, im more excited to have a good base game with all WrestleMania arenas, new matches, mechanics, camara angles, doble titles entrance, etc. If they deliver that with the few glitches possible, imagine what PWM community will do with the pc version. It will be fantastic. Unless 2K decides his game not to be modded.....

I wish we could’ve got the I Quit & Inferno match types as well, but I’m happy we at least got four “new” match types to make the game feel fresh again. Bc 2K22 & 2K23 we’re cool but after a while they felt boring bc of how limited the game is. I especially with very lackluster rosters.

i heard word that super finishers are enhanced versions of superstars regular finishers and it cancels out the resiliency and example for what could be a super finisher would be the 3 cross rhodes for cody

Last wrestling game I played years ago was SvR 2010 and that was fun. Spent so many countless hours, the perfect game with my brand new ps3 at the time. Then I fell out of wrestling for 13 years. Cue 2023, I had just gotten 2k22 and man was I amazed with how they finally fixed the combat system back to the old standard. (There was a brief period where I tried 2K15 years ago but I just could not break out of pins. That system was whack.) And 2k23 was just as great. Even began watching wrestling again, with my girlfriend no less! We'd started watching just as Jey uso left the blood line. And what a way to start, after wanting to see it live for years as a kid we went and got the live tickets. My first ever live WWE event, and I was hooked back in to that childhood passion. But anyways, I'm sure we'll probably want to get our hands on a copy of 2K24.

How many years have we been waiting for a simple Special Guest Referee match type? Im so glad we are FINALLY getting it back. Hopefully they can expand the GM mode too. Make it just like SVR 2006 GM mode.

I wasn't even thinking about how we could be short changed on the 40 years of WrestleManias mode because of contracts and WWE unwillingness to showcase any former wrestler if they're involved in another company at the time. Shame I'm still not gonna be able to get the World Heavyweight Championship triple threat match at WM 22 or probably Sting vs HHH at WM 31. Now we're gonna have to wait another 10 years to get another shot at this 😭.
But I'm still happy with most else added here. I got 2k22 but sat out 2k23 because I could easily tell there wasn't gonna be enough content to justify the purchase, but 2k24 definitely looks like it will.
There's very few people that were ever in WWE and now elsewhere that WWE doesn't own the name to or at least a variation of their name such as Edge. Ric Flair is one of the only ones that come to mind that owns the rights to his name and probably wouldn't be part of this. We already know that macho King WrestleMania 6 is in it as well as Dusty, so you can bet that. Sherry and Sapphire will also be part of it. We've already heard that shamrock and the dudleys have signed legend deals among others, so you can expect Mania moments from them for sure

I'm excited too man! I disagree about 23 though I absolutely loved it. Still playing my universe mode which I set up in the attitude era.. start in 1997 I'm going into wrestlemania 2000 now lol also I enjoyed the my rise and even the show case believe it or not(I know it's wasn't that popular).. I been having a blast though..exported both the female and male my rise CAWs and created 1 more dude and made a tag team plus a woman manager.. and threw them into the attitude era.. now 3 years in they are all 3 singles competitors but still escort each other to the ring and are all buddies lol even made them entrance videos and stuff.. I feel like there's a lot of fun to be had in universe if u create your own fun. I never put the game down this year.. 22 I honestly put down after a few months and 20 I played for like a week before switching right back to 19 lmao but 23 was awesome imo

I loved the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode and just pre-ordered the Wrestlemania edition. But considering that the first Wrestlemania I saw was WrestleMania 19, I already know that some of my favorite matches won't be there. Jericho vs. Michaels, Undertaker vs. Big Show & A-Train, Matt Hardy vs. Rey Mysterio, Triple H vs. Michaels vs. Benoit, Cena vs. Big Show, Wrestlemania 21's Money In The Bank, Edge vs. Undertaker, Dudley Boyz's TLC, Edge & Christian and the Hardy Boyz, Wrestlemania 30 Main Event
