Another good one! You got her making some steam now!
Great content Don, as usual. I am sure the Triple Pump will do the trick for you. I hope the build works out great at the dragstrip for you. I've been following 3 Pedal's channel as well. I hope he gets Frankenstein up and running and race it!
8âs incoming!
100% you know that! đȘ
After watching this, I simply believe I have the wrong camshaft. But im already on #3 and dont want to pay for another swap. Good numbers!
Yeah, it's tough to find the right one as there are so many out there to choose from and it's expensive to swap them out. Thanks brother! She's going to be a ripper! đȘ
Awesome brother. Keep grinding. Awesome seeing your car evolve. Im going to have to step up some more now. Stop spending my money!
Thanks brother! I appreciate your input and discussions on IG. She has come a long way and I do have a way of getting into people's pockets! đ
Always a pleasure brother. That's one thing about us. We will show our cards to make others better.
You need to change shake and bake name to Rolling Thunder lol you doing some great work on her !
Hmmm... been thinking of possibly changing her name and this is a good one! đȘ
Are you still daily driving brother? lol
I am, just not as much as I used to. đ
Just plain awesome. Sheâs crankinâ good deal brother đđđ
Thanks brother and she sure is! I'm going to do an engine cost video here soon. đȘ
What is the conservative RPM limit on a build like this for one mile racing?
I'm not a 1 mile racer so I can't give you a good number to be honest. Hopefully someone that is can comment and give you one. đ
At first i didn't think it would . That 5.7 putting in work .
Yes sir! We both spun and he wasn't in full race mode either but was a great race non the less! đȘ
đđŸđŻđŻ
Thanks brother! I really appreciate the support! đȘ
Saw 7000 rpm after the coupler fix as well. I think the 10lbs off the converter will relate to some freed up hp as well when it goes in.. Other thing we need to touch on is that the coupler collapsed as it warmed up and would collapse sooner and sooner making us think as we made more it was a tq limitation this go round.. the stock ecu was legit limited as well.. that was an actual issues. I dont think i have anything else to touch on right now except my girls behind. đ
Yes sir! We have a few more things we need to do to max out. đȘ
Say, yes you need more psi but you may need volume too, what size supply fuel line you using?
-10an spit into 2 -8an feed lines. Should be plenty of flow rate with those sizes. đ
Did you get the torque converter in?
Not yet.. after the pumps are in I'll do it. That should actually free up some hp without that extra 10lbs the stock one has.
Like Mack said, not yet but it's coming soon! đȘ
Late reply but what procharger are you using? Is it mounted on the same brackets that come with the kit from procharger.? Iâm asking because I have a small head P1sc and want to see if a bigger size would fit
I have the D1X and yes, mounts to the bracket in the kit. You can get up to a F1A-94 on the bracket provided in the kit. đȘ
My next big move is going to a 392 forged short block , heads cams .. Iâm on a small procharger now full bolt ons e85 610-30 tire. 7-9 psi. Wonder if you guys think a big procharger or go whipple 18 psi ish range ?? Currently a eagle hemi 21â Cherokee
Honestly, I love the 392 since putting one in my car. If you already have the ProCharger, I'd keep it unless you want a more "Trackhawk" experience the Whipple provides. I love my ProCharger because I can drive lightly with no problem and nail it when I want to. đ Not sure which ProCharger you have, but the P series is good to around 900+hp and the D1X I'm pushing over 1000. đȘ
@@ModernRedHemi yes I have the small P series right now. So id be interested in stepping up to what you have.
You talked a lot, repeatedly the obvious thing over and over, Iâll never get this wasted time back
I've been trying to stop repeating myself in future videos. I still do it but not nearly as much as I cut most, if not all, of it out now. Apologize and appreciate the constructive criticism. đȘ
Go Steelers
You know it brother! đȘ
I have the greatest stupid idea for what i want to do with my 5.7L magnum hemi.... Imma procharge it, put duallys on it and pod lights like those neat looking rally cars :3
That would be a sight! đ
Outside of Macks hate for the 5.7, he's a no brainer to work on your hemi. Dude knows his shit, he'd be my 1st choice to do an engine swap.
đHe's coming around, a little. Yeah, no brainer! đȘ
Road trips with car friends are the best!
100% brother! đȘ
Gonna try to do my AFR this weekend. I bought the replacement A pillar from Speedlogix. I got it 1/2 off on eBay. Most people grabbed power and ground from the cigarette lighter, so I'm going that route. Strarck is a bit far from me or I would do it there.
Yeah, it's a good place to get it from as well. Might give you a little more freedom when it comes to wiring. đȘ
Good on you for putting a video out like this. Its important for not only the businesses involved but also the community. Im sure there is plenty of BS flying about why.
Yeah, didn't want anyone getting a bad name for no reason other than timing. If not for RMRW, I would've stuck with Starck's P&M. That's the main point. I know you understand. đȘ
Itâs all good
No, it was a great question and had many people ask. That's why I decided to do a video on it to let everyone know why I went the direction I did and to clear the air. đ
You have put a ton of work and $ into Shake N Bake. Having friends where you can get your work done is an added bonus, but sometimes the timing just doesn't work out for both of you. I know doing the work is part of the "fun", but I'm aging out of that work phase. My R/T is stock and if I get the itch too bad, I think I'll just trade up to a Scat or Hellcat and save the wear and tear on my body. Hope your body can heal up a bit. Thanks for putting in the work and sharing with us so we can enjoy it without busting our knuckles. đđ
We sure have. And when I say we, that's Starck's P&M, Mack, and others put in a lot of work to date. You are most welcome and hopefully, I am saving you some money as well! Yeah, moving to a higher trim is never a bad idea either. đ
People must really want to start drama for no reason.
Yeah, they sure do. I don't think it's necessarily drama but wanting to know why I moved on from Mike. đ
@@ModernRedHemi well they know you go back n forty depending on your needs. Which is just supporting small shops.
Mike is understanding and he is always swamped with work. But if he had the time he would've gotten you squared away. He's installing a alternator for me tomorrow. He'll never hold a grudge especially business related.
Yes sir! Mike is awesome and an all around great guy. For sure, he would've had me straight as well if he could've squeezed me in. đȘ
Totally understand Don, you have to go with who has the time.
I didn't have the time đ I'm booked out 6 months. But the car needed to get done and he got me what I needed and I knew it would be the best version yet so I made things happen for him.
@omgitsmrmack that's the next video. đ
@@OMGITSMRMACK It's all good Mack, I understand, and you do great work!
I had to get the car done and Mack stood up. As you see in his comment, he really didn't have the time either but with me and Mark helping out took much of the load off him but he still put in a lot of work. đ
@@ModernRedHemi It's all good Don, your point is well taken here, you have a great team around you. I'm just a spectator here, fellow enthusiast, you guys are the ones out there racing and doing the hard work.
I can't stand it when people say a procharger runs like stock. There's a fucking banshee underneath the hood screaming its brains out when you are in idle. It's the most obnoxious sound.
Not if you get the Helical gears. It's not silent but was less than the non helical gears. đ
Do u hear the whipple just on normal driving the wife does? Or does it run on bypass all the time under cruising. Also will mileage atay the same driving nicely?
You may hear a little whine while normal driving but not bad. Typically, if you drive normal and sensible, you may get a little better gas mileage due to the engine running more efficiently. Now when you put your foot in it, that's a totally different story. đ
Just got a 2006 rt charger for 3500 and just dropped a fresh completely rebuilt motor in it so I'm definitely loving the content
Aright! Thanks for the support and glad you are liking the channel! đȘ
What good is a Tazer? Especially when you have Super Track Pac already. Thank You
Not all 5.7s come with the Super Track Pack option but even with that option, Tazer gives you line lock, security features, valet mode, just to name a few but there are many more. đ
what was that tip again on performance on exhaust?
Straight through tends to be better when it comes to performance than a chambered exhaust. For example, Borla/MBRP/AWE/and others, are straight through exhausts while Flow Master are a chambered type. đ
Im glad i could help you and jay make broke back mountain race week! Going to turn her up a little bit more soon đ
@@OMGITSMRMACK we couldnât have done it without you and Daveâs support!
I just did Big Sky Race Week in Montana. It was my first drag and drive also. I've been around racing for many decades and just as you experienced, I've never seen such a friendly down to earth group as the drag and drive people. Everyone was like instant family! Such a great group of people! I look forward to doing many more drag and drives in the future!
I am so glad that there seems to be a pattern in the drag and drive community! I am happy you had such a great time as well! It was by far one of the best, if not the best, experience I've had. đȘ
Awesome summary to an awesome week! So happy we met up with you and Jay, it was a blast cruising all week with you guys. Canât wait to see the progress with Shake N Bake, and hopefully we will see you guys next year đ€đŒ
Thanks brother! I am glad we met up too. It would've been a different experience if we hadn't. I can't wait either đ Agree, hopefully we all get to meet up next year! đȘ
Rmrw looked like a great time well organized event cool people what more can you want? The future looks bright for S&B canât wait till you get her dialed in a lot of hard work and r&d has got it to this point
I know right! Was a great time by all and we made it back safe and the car still runs. Can't ask for more than that! Oh, we are going to get her dialed in, just need time to work out any more issues with the gateway and then.... bang... 8's on the way đȘ
@@ModernRedHemi absolutely but we all know theyâll be issues along the way thatâs #Strace car life Mack and Dave have definitely did their thing sheâs turning into the monster we all know that it could be
So how far out is Dave and mack from taking on any more work? weeks or months give or take đ
Probably a couple weeks. We are waiting for the gateway to come back from Big 3 Racing, then we get it hooked back up and check it out to see if there are any more issues. Hopefully not. đ
Work.. 5 months probably for big stuff. Tuning us a different story.. but I personally have too many engines and big builds to do plus my own stuff.. im stuck at this point. 5 months is a guess at this point. Something little like a converter or something is a different story.. one day gigs I fit in here and there to take a breather.
Like to see your hitch set up. Maybe put it in a video
Sure, I can make a quick video on it. đȘ
Good stuff man.
Thanks brother! đȘ
If you had a great time and no one or cars are hurt, thatâs the main thing
That was my goal all along. Race at all the tracks, make it back home safe, and the car still runs. We accomplished all 3. đȘ
What the fuck is a pro charger ?? All o know is fuel injection , natural , or blown. Or turbo. He didnât show it. Iâll find it later somewhere but heard that term somewhere else and it it caught my attention. Of course someone can tell me here , lol , thanks.
It's a centrifugal supercharger. Looks a lot like a belt driven turbo. Google is always your friend brother. đ
@@ModernRedHemi ok , Iâve seen that. A blower basically. Mounted like an A.C compressor. Ok cool. Thanks.
I definitely know what you mean. There's a lot going on in the cabin before launch not to mention extra draggys and cameras ect. And stalling up to launch is an art in itself as you're watching the tach to make sure you're holding at the right rpm, while watching the lights come down at the same time so you don't get tree'd by the guy in the other lane. Going 10's in 4000+ DA while the car is struggling at launch is impressive man, the car is going to be a beast!
Thanks brother and I know you know exactly what it takes and how many things are going on just to get the car down the track. For this though, I shouldn't have worried about the tree as much as I did and concentrate on getting it stalled up and launched correctly. Spoiler, I do get better. đ
Mopar road trip with great company! Great way to kick off your summer!
100% brother and an awesome time was had by all of us! đȘ
Iâm actually looking forward to build my Durango RT my goal is 600 whp with the supercharge with a stock zf870 hold it easily? Or should I build it?
When it comes to the transmission, you have to look at torque and how much you are making, not necessarily horse power. Mine started slipping around 650 lb/ft and around 750 whp. đ
@@ModernRedHemi ok thanks man I think I can hurt some feelings with this beast lolđ
Its the Torque that destroys the ZF870HP gear box, not the BHP. They are rated for a max of 700 Nm Torque, which is 516.3 ft-Ibs to all the Americans out there.. ZF gearboxes don't have a BHP rating, so the info this guy gives is rather meaningless without knowing what torque he destroyed the gearbox at! A 750bhp Diesel engine would shred a ZF870HP gear box in seconds due to the enormous Torque it would also be producing! But a 550-600bhp BMW can get away easily with the same ZF870HP gearbox used in my humble stock BMW 310BHP 640D! A remapped, tuned 3 ltr diesel inline 6 cylinder BMW 640d, producing 390BHP can produce well over 730-750 Nm of torque, that's far more Torque than a Lamborghini aventador with a huge 6.5-liter V-12 that develops 769 horsepower, but it maxes out at 720 Nm of torque, even with all that 769 bhp the aventador engine still only produces 531 pound-feet of torque. Forget BHP when it comes to ZF8 gearbox's its all about the torque! Diesels have a longer power stroke and have massive torque, but slow burning fuel and lower rpm as a consequence. Petrol engines produce less immediate power, ie torque, but they burn their fuel much quicker, so they can have shorter strokes and much higher revs, its that higher revs that gives them the higher BHP. Take that to the next level and you get a 1000 BHP formula 1 car, which produces only 200 Nm of torque! If you're going to talk about the zf8 gearbox, then you need to talk about the torque!
You are 100% correct and I don't disagree at all. Problem is, 95% of the folks listening in don't understand torque and only speak in HP and a vast majority of my subscribers are Mopar fans. I get that a 6.4 makes way more torque than a 5.7, but basically speaking, the HP ranges, for Challengers and Chargers with the HP70, isn't far off without speaking torque. Now a non-Moparian may get the wrong impression and I apologize but that's not my main audience. Appreciate the input with an excellent explanation! I should've explained it like you did. đ

Instead of getting that $700 thing you probably should get underground tuning 1500 and you get a full tune and if you get stage two, you can get flames and has you can unlock PCM that's probably the best budget because you get a tune and you can do it all yourself on your phoneđ †down below if you agree đ
There are a million different variations you can do. This was just my take on what to do but love the thought and input! đȘ
Awesome stream guys, thanks for having us. Looking forward to more adventures soon đ€đŒ
Thanks TJ and Cody! It was a great time having you and will definitely have to do it again when you get the Caliber up and running. đȘ
