Eric doesn’t shred like metal the way you are doing Ben. That’s a reason why I love EJ is because he isnt shredding like that but plays really fast and it’s just beautiful. Most people play fast riffs and it’s garbage.

The "Sammy era" tone was interesting concerning tone. The first two albums with Sammy weren't overdriven at all. From the point he designed the first 5150 head. "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" and beyond the tone was way more overdriven.

The reason you aren't hearing those f# notes is because the keyboard player is playing most of the bass guitar notes (not bass guitar) but the low guitar string. At least it sounds that way to me but that album is so processed it's hard to really say.

Yeah you really nailed it, and it's s little harder than master of puppets but you got it right, people usually get it about half way right and it's a rather difficult song to play at Metallica's speed and you did it very well. Completely flawless remake. Good playing man

I’ve learned from Uncle Ben on another video how to play Drop Dead Legs. I couldn’t play it until I learned to step on my right toe with my left heel cause if I let my foot start tapping to the beat, that awesome groove Drop Dead Legs carries turns into a stuttering ball of shit. Nobody lays down a groove like Eddie. He’s the GOAT.

Excellent video! You need a video on the advantages of floating bridges :) Also, you need to setup that floating bridge on the Ibanez so that it is parallel to the body! It is at an angle to the body and it affects stability negatively that way.

I must disagree with you in the way you travel you’re picking motion. Yes it’s good to have your pick tilted but the pic But the way The pick travels should never be in a diagonal direction for a number of reasons. The sweeps should always be a straight up and down motion. I would encourage you to check out videos from Tom Hess. Bernth, And Michael Batio on the best way to sweep through your arpeggio, As they talk about the proper motions and methods and why they are the best way to play it and also in explaining exactly how not to do it and why. I used to struggle with it but now, after assessing the problem with what I was doing, and how I was doing it,, changing the method of what I was doing in the learning to do it. The proper way has a greatly helped my playing for the better.

Never would've picked up the swing tempo if you hadn't played it slowed down, the first note of each phrase seems a little drawn out but only if you're listening for it.. No way in hell do I have the technical chops ti tackle this but I wonder if thinking about it more like a 16th note followed by two 32nds, might be a better approach considering it's too fast to really feel that swing tempo.. or 3 32nds length first note initially and then kinda double time at the back end.. Idk the correct length of note I can barely read sheet music but if you cant hear the swing just be slightly behind time with the first part and then play catch up

Thats why I love Van Halen, there are so many layers in each track. You can go so deep and the music keeps on giving. There are layers of rhythm and flow in every track.

I love the difference in the feel of a hardtail vs a tremolo bridge. It's a completely different experience. Gotta have both in my life. However, if I were stranded on desert island and only had one guitar, I'd die of exposure.
