There's a magical formula for making these scale relay shapes fit rhythmically inside a couple bars, and once you learn it, you'll be able to throw out lightning fast shred licks and land on your feet (and the downbeat) every single time! I’m 62, I am a retired pro from LA. I mostly cut at Ameraycan, Ray Parker’s joint. And countless hours at Larrabee and Madhatter. I spent 40 plus years in town making a living playing that blues scale. I too feel called out🤣🤘🤣 Great channel youngster, continued success🤘🎸 PS you have exceptional timing, good player.

Translating Ben:
Play tone runs swiped from the natural minor (Aeolian) scale | Harmonic minor scale : 7-tone runs, 9-tone runs and 11-tone runs on two strings.
Play these runs ascending and descending around a pivot tone.
Of course you could do this with Dorian scale | Melodic minor descending scale.
You could do this even with 7, 9 and 11 chords played arpeggio.

I’ve been putting a lot of time and effort into this. Building up pace with metronome tracks. Almost there with your full speed demo part! The challenge is awesome!

So, I’ve learned this twice. The first time to just kind of understand/memorize the pattern. Now I’m working on actually picking it properly.
Should I have just tried harder from the beginning to memorize the pattern and pick properly at the same time? Did I do myself a disservice by “learning” it with sloppy picking?
My concern is that if it’s too hard from the beginning, I may lose interest and give up too quickly.🤔
