What kind of paint do you use/recommend for wooden dog crates?
What do you use to finish the top. It looks buttery smooth
Thank you for making this video Very informative. I will be buying the D Handle also
😮😮😮😮😅
I have used this featherboard since they were black in colour(early one) and the newer versions are just as brilliant. The disappointing thing in your safety points is that you have no vertical featherboards in use and the blade guard has been removed.
Just got mine recently. New to woodworking, so had no idea what any of the knobs did. Your video was a great help. Thanks so much!
Ridgid should provide a tutorial on how to fix this thing when it stops working properly. Most common problem is that it wont set nails,or in my case stopped firing altogether. This thing is giving the Ridgid platform a bad reputation.
I own both, I have too many tools, the new Festool with the thinner blade and anti kickback technology is a much better tool than the makita, I use my makita for site work, but honestly if I was on a budget I’d be very happy with just the makita.
Tiago sensato👋👋👋 Mestre😘
Price was much higher, but totally understandable
What was wrong with the original finish on the stock? I’m considering ordering a Richards microfit stock too for my 1903sporter
Try using DEROS II next time.
Get rid of the dog!!!
Show off !! 😂😂😂
is that with the included saw blade that you cut the rubber ? The one included in my kit looks quite rough (165 mm)...
Do you have a link to the metal blade?
I ordered one of these at the beginning of this year. Needed a new blade and after talking to costumer service, they sent me new blades, no charge! I just wanted to say great review, and they actually do have great costumer service! Just thought I would share!
Unless you are going to be using the track saw in places where connecting to AC power isn't possible/practical, I just don't see the advantage of a battery powered track saw. And I say this as someone who already has the DeWalt 60V cordless circular saw, so I don't have anything against cordless saws. When used in a shop with dust collection, the vacuum hose is way more of an encumbrance than a cord. Plus if you use some velcro strips to hold the cord to the vacuum hose, the ease of use would be identical between the corded and cordless. If you use a dust extractor that has an outlet that the cord can plug into both the hose and cord go to the same place. Also when you pull the trigger on the track saw, the dust extractor turns on and then turns off turns off a few seconds after you release the trigger. True you can get a dust extractor with Bluetooth and then put a Bluetooth button around the end of the hose connected to the saw you can accomplish close to the same thing. But that just adds more expense to an already more expensive system. Since the corded version is substantially cheaper and there is no worry about not having charged batteries available (not to mention the cost of replacing batteries once they have been recharged a maximum number of times) I can't see why I shouldn't go with the corded version. So what am I missing that makes the battery version worth the additional cost? BTW, thanks for your review and insights into the Makita track saw. I am trying to set up a shop without a tablesaw, and hope that a high quality track saw along with an MFT workbench and some accessories (bench dogs, fence, angle jigs, etc) along with a sliding miter saw, router (free and in a router table) and a bandsaw will allow me to do all of the cuts that otherwise would be done on a table saw. The track saw is likely to be key to replicating what a tablesaw can do, and so I am really sweating whether to go with the Makita or to "buy once, cry once" and take the plunge and go with the Festool. Reviews like yours are helping me to feel confident that the Makita will make the same quality of cuts, even if it doesn't have all the same bells and whistles as the Festool. So thank you very much.
I appreciate the test, but you compared battery vs mains power and different sizes of pads which did not provide any reasonable comparison.
For the people concerned about the lack of a riving knife. There's this thing called a shim, try sticking it in the cut, like an actual carpenter would!
This is AWESOME! Also your son is so cute 🥹
Thank you for the info. I have one question. How much a restoration lower it’s value?
Why I went with the corded. Because as long as you’re using a vacuum you have a tether so what’s another tether. No chance of power lost which results in kick back. Or binding. Lower price. I work in a shop not a job site and even if I did I would just run an extension cord.
i can buy all the parts from a diy store or on ebay....i don't need to order.....better y will nor order from you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all the table can cost me around 30-40 $ max, all day long !!!!!1
Started watching your video until you said communist metric units. To say something so stupid shows me that you have no clue. Not everything coming from the U.S. is better than everything else. Keep your stupid „freedom units“.
Question : did you noticed the bevelled mitre slots? Sooo annoying as the mitre bars will never fit without any play :(
Absolutely beautiful Robert!
Dust frames in old style dressers, double as support for drawers
Considering the fact that Festool's offset chuck costs more ALONE ($169) than the whole M12 installation driver kit when on sale (which includes it along with the 90 degree adapter), it's not even a question really. Offset chuck is one of the main reasons to have one of these things... and the $350+ Festool CXS kits don't even come with it!
That’s true. The Festool is absolutely better quality, and I enjoy using it but it hard to justify the price for a cordless system that is either a single tool or very few tools
I find in rotex mode to vicious on most jobs….. all in all the 150 is a good machine.👍🏻
Festool overpriced garage
Nice layout! best use of square footage I've seen yet!
What great teaching video. I wish the stock had checkering. Reason being I’m going to refinish a Turkish walnut Cz stock. It has checkering and I’m not sure how to use the tru oil with the multi coatings on the checkering .
for 3600 I don't believe any piece of furniture should have pocket holes, and an unstained bottom no matter if you see it or not, quality products are suppose to be excellent even in the places where you would never think to look.
What would the diameter of the motor?
Had a screw block the draw several times now.
If you mounted the router base underneath the cross slide rather than on top, the cutter would not have to be extended as far increasing rigidity.
I'm having the same issue with loss of suction. I'll have to try your suggestion. If not, this thing is going back
YOU SPENT MORE TIME ON YOUR DRILL BIT STOPER THAN YOU DID ON HOW LONG THE TOTAL LENGHT OF THE SLIDE NEEDS TO BE !!!
Probably commented a hundred times here but what is the advantage in cordless tools when you have a bloody big dust extraction hose hooked up to the tool anyway?
Ability to go cordless and not use dust collection when you want/need.
Stopped watching as soon as you made the comment about the "egregious mismanagement of our government." I wanted to hear about the drawer slides you made, but don't want to hear your misguided political views. Good bye.
This mower surprised me cuz I didn't think it could cut through knee-high grasses and weeds. I own 2 acres and 1/3 of the space is open. Now that the tall grass is gone, I'm going to use the mulch plug to maintain the height at the 5 setting from now on. So far, I'm happy with the investment.
I hope you’re just trying to be funny, and you know that Amps are a unit of current, and watts are a unit of power, and both were created in other countries, and neither was communist. Unfortunately when you tried to convert it to an “American” unit, there are 2 standard ways to do that, but you seem to have come up with a third conversion- all your own.
I have noticed that these old wood runners have stop on them good job
Ya l don’t think it is safe l love it but ya
Just bought a main powered version. Your overview is very helpful - thank you !
Weird question - why would you want a 125mm over 150mm?
I like the smaller pad when I’m sanding face frames. It’s more nimble and easier to maneuver. But the 150mm stays on the bulk of the time
Makita seems like a top brand for yard equipment, not just shop tools. Batteries today from Makita are hella expensive, but they are true Japanese protected cells, which matters. I have quality gas equipment, but I'm trying to get away from it, their heavy, their loud, their expensive to maintain, gas costs keep going up, and exhaust fumes are getting to me. I do semi-commercial, just a few yards plus my own. From what I can tell, the new 40V XTG line are professional grade tools, that are built even better, and do have a variable speed trigger throttle, as well as the 3-speeds and AUTO. I'm going to join Makita as a customer, stepping foot forward, straight into the 40V XTG line. I figure a 2 4AH batteries should help get me started.
Higher, was that a commission piece? I hope so as I don't know how many of those I would build to have in stock...lol great job.
I only build commissions. I have some standard models and standard pricing but everything is made to order.
Mine keeps turnoff after a few seconds when i put it in 3 mode why is that?
