    Great looking video as always, just wondering when you ran the waste pipe presumably you would not have been able to go dead centre on each joist, so what sort of fall do you normally allow. When you were speaking about the air admittance valve is this built-in to the waste on the basin you will fit. That concealed cistern looked an excellent product when you said you cut it down can you just reduce them in height. Sorry to ask so much will look forward to watching next part.

    Everyone says don’t go in the mortar well if these bricks are extruded with 3 to six vertical cavities there is not much at all when you go through the extrusion.Older bricks were solid and much stronger so I go through the mortar on modern extruded bricks.

    This might seam a strange comment ,but up to about 10 days ago, I had a leaking compression joint under my kitchen sink, out of desperation and trying not to remove the sink to get to it,I simply turned down the pressure by slightly closing the stop cock, PROBLEM SOLVED ! 😁😄

    I watched the video as I am trying to fit a handle with key lock in it to a door, finally did that but my issue is the strike plate, old one didn’t work so I am trying to replace it with the one that came with the new lock but the frames are metal and I can’t get the lock to meet the strike plate, needs packing but I’m struggling, I’ve tried card/wood but can’t do it, any advice at all? Thanks.

    Good video. I fitted one except the fan on the joist causes vibration. Tried mats and rubber under fan, no difference. Finally had to hang it from the rafters with chains. Fan sits on a board like a swing.

    Having been in both sides trust me when I say that it works but doesn't compares. If you really cannot afford the Makita (or any of the other cheaper similar systems) then go for that. Otherwise do a favor to yourself and get the real thing. The difference in precision, reliability and practicity is like night and day.

    it is funny to watch how different DIY is between Britain and the U.S. - This was just WAY too much fuss for a yank! We'd simply replace the post. You'll have a jiggly fence while you take the old post out, but nobody wants a unsightly concrete post sticking out of the ground in their garden. Not saying one is more right than the other, just interesting to see the contrasts.

    The “olive” is called a ferrule. Also I like to use a pipe insert with the ferrule. I have experienced crushing of the pipe and leaks without the insert. There is nothing wrong with the push fits in my opinion but the compression is certainly beefier.

But I do store stuff at my sisters so time to price up the job. Would this product work on a no-fines concrete building? Maybe later in the year i would like to build a lean-to on the side of our house. @Durk2007 Pƙed 2 dny

    I've never seen a concealed kit like that one before. It does look handy, I liked how you tested it live while all open but first thing that came into my head was if you don't know the exact thickness of the new floor tile and even if you do know the thickness and have the tile there with you during the first fix to slide under the pan you'd be surprised how many mm tile adhesive can add in the end so you'd risk the flush pipe still not perfectly lining up with the back of the pan which could cause joint stress and leak over time, the flexi pan connector wont really matter as you'll have the movement there. Think that's why the wall mounted pan frame kits are used as that eliminates worrying about finished floor measurements. You have great overall knowledge (especially electrical for lights and fans, I'm learning loads with that. I love your channel. Keep up the good work.

    • @TheDIYGuy1
      @TheDIYGuy1 Pƙed 2 dny

      I get what your saying. I usually address finished floor height by halving the size of my notched trowel for my tile adhesive. So for this one it would be 5mm of adhesive bed (half of a 10mm notched trowel). That will bring you in almost to the mm 👍. Just comes from having done a few of these 😊
