Theres a lot of negative comments about Tv heights etc, at the end of the day this is all personal preference. What you cant fault though is the quality of the work and the video presentation so top marks for that, really impressed.
Thanks a lot 👍
I don’t think they are negative. It’s more to do with tilting your head up to watch the tv. My comment was bottom of tv to your eyeline or top of head. That has always been the correct placement within AV installations. Nothing to do with preference always to do with head position and correct ergonomics. A DIY installer would place it anywhere

@@coreythomas9178Yes, some people are ignorant and some people are not. This placement is objectively too high for the human anatomy. Form over function.
Loved the video. My husband built our TV wall into the chimney breast with my supervision of course. A lintel at the top and then the stud work like yourself. I much preferred watching you do it
Always impressed by how easy you make things look. I'd like to watch another one of your videos about how to add a socket plug in a room where there is few that are not easily accessible.
Great suggestion! Will do
Yeah with you there .....
Excellent job here, I’ve learnt a lot in this single video, by the way did you used just one type of timber ( 45mm * 125mm) throughout ?
Loving the Videos Cameron!! Keep up the good work! Great tips throughout. All the best, Darren
Looks great. The new thing is large TV's, 75",87". I like TV's lower. For me the bottom of the TV is 3-4 ft from the floor for a seating area. Great work. I did learn alot.
Looks class that mate. There's a few videos already about but you break it all down so well so here's my suggestions for content id like to see: Undercabinet lighting (kitchen), laying patio, Outdoor lights(pillar ones, not just on exterior of house wall).
Looks great, well done. It’s got me planning my own. Really good content on your channel.
Awesome! Thank you!
Superb job! You made it look very easy. Love those LED's. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks for watching!
Happy to be subscribing to this channel. I need to get some stuff done during my free time.
Fantastic! Great video! Media wall looks amazing!
Thanks so much!
Great build. I'm always watching things like this and wanting to do them, then I remember that I rent. lol. I have to say, using a bit of pipe in the wall for cable management is brilliant. It's one of those things I'd probably never think of but seems so obvious in hindsight.
tip - see how you like looking at various parts of the wall for extended periods of time before you decide how high to put the tele. my neck much prefers it about level with my eyes when sat on the sofa. also think about whether a corner of a room is not a better place to put it. more seats might get a good viewing angle in a corner.
Thanks for the video, currently building our Media wall and using loads of tips, namely the bracket for the TV. Will be having a look at the LED lights too. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!
Respect to your work ethic
Cheers 👍
I can't explain it, it was such a satisfying video to watch. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@TheDIYGuy1 Planning on doing a home network DIY vid any time soon? I have great ideas!!!
Excellent walkthrough thank you for your time and expertise
Glad it was helpful!
This looks brilliant and it's another example of how LEDs can improve everything
Great thanks
1st time watching your channel, absolutely brilliant. Really well explained and very informative. Media wall looks really good. Many thanks👍🏻👍🏻
Welcome aboard! Thanks
Absolutely cracking job 👏 . It looks very modern. Great colour either side 👌
Thanks 👍 dancing peacock by valspar
i love this build , for anyone who does not have the skills or vast tool kit to build a solid wood centre with MDF face etc this is a great alternative , i have a customer who wants a media wall built and i am now sending her a link to see if she would like this idea , also if anyone is not into plastering , myself as a handyman / decorator i use easyfill 60 and 20 a lot and this is another way DIYers could build this centre the same way without plastering skills by using easyfill instead which is a much easier to use for DIYers , thank you and keep up the good work , as a suggestion i know there a lot of other home bar tutorials out there but most are US made with your skills and links to UK sites & suppliers etc would be a bonus for UK DIYers especially now the weather should be getting warmer maybe build an outside bar maybe using old recycled whisky barrels and pallets etc or along those lines , just an idea as i built mine from recycled wood and pallets and it was the best thing socially i ever did , thanks again , and please a lot more videos and tutorials your a natural and its so good to get links and prices relating to UK sites and suppliers .
Cracking job! A great improvement and looks smart. 👍
Thanks Ross
Great video and I will definitely using this as a guide when attempting myself. One thing I want to ask is did you take into account the thickness of the plasterboard when working out your measurements?
A good job done there. Depending on what electrical appliances you are installing, TV, sound bar, sky box etc you should always consider that the appliances will create heat, especially the TV. Make sure there is enough space around the appliances so heat can escape and cooler air can circulate.
👍
Fantastic video! I'm doing the same in my living room 😁 I wasn't sure about the led as I have never wired them up but I'm definitely going for them! I think I'll go for a sound bar and I am having a fireplace 😁
Brilliant! Go for it
Excellent job Cam. Love the future proofing idea with the pipes as well. I recently chased out and spurred a socket to go behind my TV (I finally had enough of the unsightly black cable running down the wall to the main socket). Lovely wire-free wall for a while but then purchased a sound bar and now have the ugly wire connecting the tv to soundbar on show. With more foresight I would fitted something like your pipes when I had the wall chased out earlier but instead I now have to get cutting into the plaster and brickwork again. Oh well! Couple of queries/observations - might it have been easier to do single vertical timbers first then the horizontals and then the second vertical timbers so that you could screw at 90degrees into the horizontals if that makes sense? And for the plastering - I’ve done a bit of tape and jointing in my time but never full skimming. Would a job like that lend itself to tape and joint? Thanks.
Hey thanks for the feedback. Agree there maybe a better way to screw the whole thing together(I didn’t put a huge amount of thought into that). I don’t think tape and joint is a great idea just because of the amount of tapered edge joints you would need.
@@TheDIYGuy1Hey there what if you have a chimney breast and It's a flat are you able to go into the chimney breast a little bit??
So many helpful tips!! Thanks again
You are welcome 🙏
Great job with the wall. Very simple and straight to the point to me.
👍👍
superb job and excellent detailed well explained vid about to do one my self around an existing dated stone fireplace so picked up some handy pointers thanks
This looks great and the use of pipes in that way was really good, a great way to do it. Having used LEDs for years the main concern that I would have is that of maintenance - the LED drivers *will* fail at some point and boxing them into the unit itself will make repairing or replacing them incredibly annoying and messy. The LED strips will likely fail too, but hopefully these should be easier to replace (issues of misbalanced strips aside).
great video.. very informative. Thanks
What a fantastic job done. Very informative. Ta👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video, with some really good advice - thanks Cameron!
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video Cameron always look forward to new stuff 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Very impressive indeed and your explanation through out is top class young man 👍
Much appreciated!
Absolutely fantastic work very very effective , I want a media wall now 👍
Thank you! Cheers! Do it!
Love to see you make simple alcove units and shelving love your videos
I made mine about 8 years ago, very simple with much less planning 😂..... Mine houses the TV, sound bar and a bio ethenyl fireplace..... Thinking of modernising it a little and found your channel..... Mint job, I'll be using some of your techniques 👌
Great thanks a lot 👍
Really well put together, impressive - could never be enough, though top job, the foresight and attention to detail - quality job! Thanks for the tips re what to do before putting this together, more than a few ppl I know tried this and nowhere as good, hope family enjoy the room space!
Thanks a lot. All the best
You’ve really helped me out before I begin my own wall, thanks
No problem 👍
Great. Have been waiting for this.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Great job and brilliantly modern looking. Nice work mate
Many thanks!
Been waiting for this one🎉
😉 nice one
Great job. May have try this myself!
Go for it!
I will try to do one in a few days. Let's see if come up close like this one. Thank you for the video.
Beautiful bit of work and learned a lot from this vid. The LED lights look great! Couple of things to consider are that your soundbar has side firing speakers that get blocked off here, and the TV might be a bit high for the viewing position. But defo going to use these tips to build something similar!
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Regarding the Sonos side speakers I don’t mind as I have some play 1s acting as surround sound
Brilliant job buddy ,thanks
No problem 👍
Excellent job. Looks fabulous.
Thank you! Cheers!
Oh wow! Absolutely brilliant. Was wondering all through the video how you were going to put the Sky box on the shelf without it sticking out! That little bracket is awesome!
Glad it was helpful! Cheers
Good Job Kevin Debruyne ! you the man
👍
Excellent ... well done, easy to follow!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing as always 😊😊😊

Looks wonderful!

One of the Best video you've done this
Thank you 😊
Funny enough i was only staring at my tv wall a wk ago & your most excellent DIY media wall just poppped up on my feed ..you know they're listening to my thoughts now 😂 Subbed n liked 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Love it. You made it look so easy and interesting. Only thing I didn't see was how how connected everything to the mains, such as your led lights etc
Awesome job looks really modern
Thanks!
Great video, very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
this LED light is phenomenal idea
👍
I built mine before they were so trendy about 6yrs ago and tiled it with indian slate still holds up today. One thing i'd do in your case is not enclose the soundbar i have a sonos system also enclosing it i wasn't sure about due to any sound being lost. So i surface mounted it. Nice install though brings back fond memories of the pit falls of my own :D
Cheers for sharing. Yeah your right about the Sonos. Some sound will be lost from the side speakers I’m sure but I decided to take that trade off this time around.
Fantastic job very glad I came across your channel
Thanks and welcome
Great video as always. Strange question but what bits are you using in your dewalt impact for driving the screws in? 👍
Great results. I love how cheap and easy LED strips are these days.
Absolutely
Loving the LED lights!
Me too! 😊
Impressive great job.
Thank you! Cheers!
thanks for the video!! im going to try and make the same one
Have fun!
Great video, Nice Job !!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great! However, one modification I would have to make is to angle the sides & top of the Soundbar aperture to 45 degrees as my bar has side & upwards firing atmos speakers. Presumably you would cut triangular wedges to achieve fixing for plasterboard
That’s a fair point mate
Or just make the recess wider by the depth of the bar on both sides.
Yeah - very important to understand the properties of any speaker before recessing the installation - especially if it's an Atmos soundbar (which the Playbar isn't of course)
Incredible mate well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi. Looks awesome. Excellent job! 👍. Great channel and content. 👌
Thank you so much 👍
Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great content great job. Really enjoyed that.
Glad you enjoyed it
You got some skills!
Thanks 😊
Thank you
Would like to see a full length in depth video about how to install and wire the LED strip lights, and how you’d wire them to the mains also.
Good idea. It wasn’t possible to go into total detail in this video due to video lengh
Really well documented set of video contents. Love the channel buddy.
Glad you enjoy it!
Quality work again you make it look simple and your attention to detail is spot on 👏🏻👍🏻 yeah looking about £2k-£2,500 for all that lights plaster the frame ect in liverpool.
Thanks a lot 👍. Yep, you could built this yourself for 500-700 dependant on a few variables
Right. Kettle on and time to watch this... Cheers
Haha welcome!
That cable management is spot on, I'd did this is my last house on the chimney breast. bringing the aerial from the roof and electrical cabling from the sides. It also makes the system future proof.
One thing i would have done a little different would be to make the edging which surrounds the tv out of some nice oak framing, which could be hinged inwards, this could allow to install a bigger tv at a later date, if you have a samsung oled tv, you can set it to ambient and it displays a picture just like a piece of art on the wall.
👍👍
You lot, have done great!
Thank you!
You make it to look so easy to do.. all the hard work are not always seen , overall great build..
Thanks 👍
Looks amazing, Ambient LEDs at the back of your TV might look good aswell.
👍
Top notch video there dude! That’s a good looking media wall - and there was a bit of carpet with orange in it that reminded me of my Nan’s house which made my smile
Haha oh yea, that old thing has been kicking around for some years. Thanks
Mega job!
Thanks
A beautiful wall.
Cheers
Looks amazing, and very informative, I'm looking to do one similar but with an aquarium underneath...wish me luck 🤞
You can do it!
Brilliant video as usual. Probably one of your best so far, this channel is getting better and better. I see youre using other breeds of power tools other than dewalt.
Thanks a lot for this! Yes indeed I am 😉
@@TheDIYGuy1 Hey Cam, what model is that evolution mitre saw? They have numerous similar looking models.
A perfectly presented video, with excellent explanations at each step.
The resulting media wall looks great!
Any particular reason why you used plasterboard and skimming rather than mdf?
Thanks. In my experience the finish just isn’t as good with painted mdf as it is with plaster.
Great job!
Thanks!
You are a good with what you do amigo!..
I appreciate that!
Fantastic job , so nice to have a living room square shaped lol.
Thank you! 😊
Great job Cameron, looks fantastic.
Thanks a bunch!
