LEARN ABOUT GEOCACHING HERE!
Geocaching is a fun and rewarding hobby that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. For those who are new to geocaching, the prospect of finding hidden treasures in the great outdoors can be an exciting experience. However, it can also be a bit intimidating, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the hobby or don't know where to start. Here are some tips on how new geocachers, or "muggles," can get involved with geocaching:
1. Create an account on a geocaching website or app: The first step to getting involved with geocaching is to create an account on either Geocaching.com or the Geocaching app. This will give you access to a database of caches that have been hidden by other geocachers in your area. The free version allows access to limited caches, but you can upgrade to Premium to gain access to all geocaches!
2. Find a cache near you: Once you've created your account, use the search function to find a cache near you. You can filter your search by location, difficulty, and terrain, depending on your preferences.
3. Read the cache description: Before you head out to search for a cache, be sure to read the cache description carefully. This will give you important information about the cache, including its location, difficulty level, and any hints that might help you find it.
4. Bring a pen and some trinkets to trade: When you find a cache, be sure to sign the logbook and leave a trinket if you have one to trade. This is a fun way to participate in the geocaching community and leave your mark on the cache.
5. Follow the geocaching etiquette: As you get more involved with geocaching, it's important to follow the etiquette of the hobby. This includes leaving the cache exactly as you found it, respecting private property, and being mindful of other geocachers and muggles who may be in the area.
If you want to learn more about getting involved with the geocaching community, you can subscribe to Hullsome on CZcams and follow me on TikTok and Instagram. Between watching my videos and following the steps above, you can quickly become a pro and experience all the thrill and excitement that geocaching has to offer!

This one was actually super easy, but the multiple red herrings gave it the difficulty rating. Whoever made this truly knew and exploited the geocacher's mindset.
So accurate! This one would've taken me awhile, lol.😅
It really did have ALL the decoys! The owner is Trycacheus who built all of the caches in Gilby, North Dakota. So many amazing hides!
He wouldn’t have been able to lift it without taking that bolt out tho.
@bailmasterflex yeah and its the only thing which you can take out. The creator was obviously thinking psychologically
@@JuneTheCapybara I think the fact that it was a bolt that was threaded all the way through with no handle made it more confusing for sure.
The way that I would literally ✨never✨ be able to find that
Same!
I'm in line with you, guys.
Happy caching, by the way. See you in the woods.
Nopety nope nope. Safe as. 😂
What is that hidden behind sleeve? 😖😂
No imagination
ah yes, the device specifically made to confuse geocachers, beautiful
The device for geocachers, the device to confuse geocachers? The device specifically designed to confuse geocachers?
@@time4atacothe little metal rod
"I feel like i have to put this somewhere but i have no idea where" thats what he said
Exactly what I was going to comment to the word 🤣
I WAS ABT TO COMMENT EXACTLY THIS XDDDDD
- Michael Scott
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
😂
I love how each cache is different and so imaginative!!
❤glass onion DVD 😮
They were all made by very sick individuals! That's why.
Trycacheus always finds the best way to hide his caches. So unique!
Trycacheus is really the goat cache owner
It's literally an up arrow after looking at it when he figured it out. Incredible design
I immediately thought. It's a perch, for the bird.
The hinge was suspicious but I was not expecting the whole thing to lift up😂
I bet the whole thing wouldn't move unless the peg was pulled out too
@@norsehawk definitely you wouldn't be able to lift it the bolt would stop it.
I was thinking it’d be some type of magnet… wow was I wrong 💀
I mean it might be magnetic but one isant needed to solve this
Geocacheing is just adult easter hunting with puzzle solving.
Wow! My money was on the roof hinges. 🤭
So was mine! Looks like we lost our money 🥲
Gambling be like
U guys have money?
I thought " tap the stick and say something from Harry Potter?" haha. Then the hinge lid would open. Nope.
@@moiraasaph8055 lmao
My grandmother and I used to do this and we couldn’t find one we looked for 3 days then a guy came out said people will always come having trouble finding it and he showed us where it was and the person who made it put it in the sewer and the guy has a bucket in his house full of little prizes so people don’t have to reach in the sewer he was very kind
Ninja turtles said hello too , right ?
Lol good one @@russianriddler8893
I get the feeling that dude was the person who set up that cache, then felt bad bout making people reach into the sewer for it if they even found it, but also didn't want to reach back into the sewer himself to retrieve it so he just has little prizes to give people after he shows them where the cache is
Brilliantly simple and difficult at the same time
1. Write the solution on the bottom of the paper
2. Incredible long and complex math equation.
But just have to write "the solution" on the bottom of the paper.
ITS A TRICK😂
IT’S A TRAP 😭
You always find clever hidden caches and you get to solve a fun puzzle but where all the caches near me is, are people hiding stuff in a container and seeing how far they can throw it into a forest. There was one where I was the first to find it and the hint said it would be on the ground it was not it was in a tree likely being Thrown.
Me screaming about the edges on the bird house then being wrong 🙄
Every time I see a post for cars on sidewalks I lift it up. I don't even do geocashes
Where do you find all these cool caches? I live in kansas and haven't found any like you have!
I am glad he is Finnaly getting the recognition he deserves
Fun fact: double tapping videos and comments will like it
Thanks!
"Does this lift up?" literally while lifting it up
Throughout the years, I have found two of these by mistake. One sitting on a rock wall along the railroad tracks. Another one on a random spruce tree, at the head of a trail.
That's awesome. It's like one of the simple easy riddles that once you get it you cannot believe you never knew the answer at one time. Cool cash.
Nice
It would've taken me HOURS to find that
Very clever, very smart, at least u know about it for now 😅..
And u inspired me to do geocaching for a while
How do you find these places?
Cordless drill with a Phillips head attachment will work just fine
GREAT FIND BROTHER
my first thought was literally
“bro, pull up.”
That's freaking awesome!!!! Wish there was more over in orange park florida
NOTHING IS EVER IN ORANGE PARK FLORIDA!
I know farmers in my area that have a fake fence post. Meaning if you cut the fence from the post and lift the post out you will find a capped PVC pipe with emergancy cash.
Yo i love your content but you should go to the geocache called eagles point in ferndeale CA i hid it and its a really nice hike 👍 not forcing you btw
Legit surprised, I’ve only recent started watching these, and the thought of just lifting it popped into my head a second before it showed in the video. Seems like something fun to do with friends or maybe even a date
That’s a very good geocache container. I would’ve never thought about doing something like that but it’s always good to learn.
I used to be big into finding them. Love it.
I sell the decking materials it was made out of. They don't sell solid composite posts anymore so I knew it was a sleeve. Then when he looks down and there's no screws or bolts connecting the sleeve to the post it becomes obvious.
Him: finding a magnetic spot
Me: 🪚🔨🪓⚒️🛠️⛏️
I always thought a cache would just be an obvious box sitting out in the open.
How long would it take me to figure this out? - 3 seconds to swing the sledge hammer.
It would take me two seconds to shift into reverse?
How do people getting involved with geocaching? Sounds like fun.
*I feel like the moment I would try to pull that top off, I would find out that the entire thing moves*
it’s shaped as an arrow pointing up, that should be a hint already to pull it up
It works like a gym weight pin or cotter pin.
this is what in-game puzzle you must complete before monster found out you
All you need is a screw gun with a star bit!
McDowell Park in Charlotte, NC has a cache that is inside of a metal pine cone in the middle of a pine thicket full of real pine cones. Took 15 of us about an hour to find it.
Honestly this would've left me a little upset that i didn't get to solve what looks like a potentially cool puzzle.
these are playing with my mind 😵
Hey me and my dad are going geocaching soon are there any tips u can give me?
I need people like you to help me figure out what's going on!
The rod is meant to be a handle it only slides out to confuse you
I thought about pushing it up but not the brown part as well
I'm not a geowhatsit but the first thing I would've done was try to lift it up.
First thing I thought was the peg stopped something being pulled down so I wasn't far off.
The way my impatient ass looks at every single one of these and thinks "...axe."
A smooth saw blade cuts through the rough solid stone
Lift the post until you see the hole where that stud might go to hold it in place( up )wile you grab the stash...my opinion after maybe 6 or 7 min to think of
What are the geocash rules. Are you allowed to hide something behind something that requires a special tool to reveal (like a screwdriver) or does all the tools need to be provided?
My favorite part is when he shows us whats inside the cache 👍
The fact I would have accidentally raised it, trying to open it at the top, is hilarious to me 😂
I’m terrible at these types of puzzles so I feel this would have been easy for me because I have a tendency to try to rip things up or apart hahaha Finally, one for the Marines! I put way too many points into Strength, not enough Int, and almost zero Dex lol
I really thought you were fixing to log a dnf
Edge of the roof on the bird house looks like a slot u can put that bar in
Looked like the hard case for Cornwell tools! 🔥
That's really cool you just pulled a pin and lift it up
Easy riddle to solve with my Bosch impact driver with a pz2 screw bit.
How can I do this it looks like fun.please explain and need some information on how
The change of tone when lifting it off
The rod was to hold the sleeve up.. There might be a hole on the post
Did the peg have to be removed in order to allow the “sleeve” to slide up?
You can almost never have a dnf in geocaching if you bring a crow bar and a hammer
The first thing I Woulda tried was pulling it up cause I'm smooth brained like that
‘ I feel like I need to put this somewhere’. - not every teenage boy since time began 😂😂😂😂
The top was an arrow pointing up hidden in plain sight.
Ok, that was still cool. Makes me wanna cache again.
Try to put the silver thing in the curve at the top👍😊
I'm keep getting vids like this on my feed and I have no idea what I'm even watching
That’s my thoughts in an escape room…..and still getting it all wrong
The rod is actually a lock so u cant lift the thing up if u didnt take it out
I didn't know Chills does this kind of content o.o
Use the screw as a thingy to lift it
Better than me... my patience would get the better of me in less than 2 mins... there would be a destroyed birdhouse on that trail 😂
Dont worry, the birds couldnt open this birdhouse either 😂
See, people are actually respectful and polite! Just here for a nice time.
“I feel like I just need to put this somewhere, but I have no idea where.”
Didn’t know my ex made this video.
I love geocaching
Damn, my skin is crawling with goosebumps, that stuff is so scary
What app do you use and what do you do when you find one
I would instantly try to pull the roof off so i think i wouldve gotten it quickly
Gymbro would’ve recognized the pin and know what to do immediately
I would love this
thats so crazy it s almost like the person knew every thought and the order that they would go through our minds at
They needed to attach a three-pole switch hooked into Ground Fault Circuit Interupter oh, and a small solar panel.
they makin legend of Zelda puzzles bro
I hate the fact i knew it was a distraction up top and that was to lock down the sleeve😂
Moving Parts LONG before Magnets
the best way to hide something; distract pirates/bandits with something unrelated
I think it's a lock to prevent it from pulling up, not a key.
