    One thing i find interesting is having the power pads prevents you from making super tight turns due to them blocking the stance. I ride with minimal pads and I tried the power pads once but have not liked them so much.

    Method #1 - turning by tilting the electric unicycle, which will twist and turn in response to tilt due to camber effect (if tilted, a tire tends to roll in a circle). Method #2 - twisting the electric unicycle directly, by twisting the upper body and arms in the opposite direction: twist upper body and arms left to twist electric unicycle right and vice versa. Method #3, while tilting the electric unicycle, twist upper body inwards which will temporarily delay the twist response, then use the upper body momentum to increase the twist response. Regarding the comment about high speed turns, method #1 is used, but the angular momentum of the wheel and tire require more torque to get the electric unicycle to tilt, and the way to generate more torque is to press inwards on the outer upper pad, and outwards force on the outer pedal. That outwards force on the outer pedal requires spiked or otherwise very sticky pedals to keep the outer foot from slipping off the pedal. A rider leans for balance, and tilts or twist to turn. When leaning, what actually happens is the electric unicycle is steered outwards from under the rider to lean the rider inwards, and then the electric unicycle is steered inwards to control direction and lean angle, tilt more to lean less, tilt less to lean more, all of which are forms of counter-steering.

    I see you have a tether. One of the very few responsible things i see people do on these. I feel it is the best way to ease society into this hobby if we limit the chabces of them flying off. Also, it saves the euc Just gotta be careful as a rider with it attached to you. Nice wheel, btw and awesome spot!!

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene Před 2 měsíci

      Thank you 😊 yes, indeed, I use the tether mainly to saveguard others. Also, I use it when offroading in a safe environment. I don't use tether if I am riding at high altitudes overlooking dangerous cliffs, if I fall I wouldn't want to risk to be dragged down with it 😬 Do you use a tether as well?

    • @Slow_PEV
      @Slow_PEV Před 2 měsíci

    Do you think if i lower the pedal height i accelerate easier and quicker?

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene Před 3 měsíci

      Yes you will accelate faster and feel better stability with lower pedsl hangers as this will lower the center of mass. However, be careful about pedal clipping. That is the major drawback with having lower pedals. Also I would only use lowered pedal hangers with a street tyre not a knobbly since the gyroscopic effect would help keeping the street tyre more upright in favour of more body lean needed to turn, so less chances of pedal clipping.

  • @barriemacleod9347

    Noob here... I can mount {sometimes} but I have to put both arms out front for a bit of forward pressure. I have some small power pads {knee height}. I was thinking that "if" I put them on and I try to mount this could slightly increase my very initial acceleration {for my dominant leg} to get moving quickly without having to lean forward so much ... Does this make sny sense to you ? So, 1) push off, 2) press on p-pad {gently} , 3} straighten body 4} bring up the trailing foot. I like your one foot idea but I have bruises all over my angles at this stage which makes it difficult to practice. Drives me crazy when I see videos and the riders do a simple "one-step" and they're UP and GONE... Can't wait for that to happen ;) Cheers !

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene Před 3 měsíci

      Hello 🙌 Apologies for the delay in getting back to you 🙏 I think you are on the correct path. In the beginning, multiple trials and errors are essential to understand and get more confident as the practice progresses. These includes pads placement, which is mostly preferential. To answer your question a bit more in depth, yes, moving your pad straighter to avoid overleaning forward is fine while you get the hang of the balance and euc movements. Once you get more confortable to mount and dismount, however, I would suggest to turn the pads forward and bend the knees instead to apply pressure to them. The upper body is still kept in an upright position. Bending the knees allows to lower the center of mass for better stability and euc control as well as helping to dampen road imperfections. The bruises are part of the learning process, I had them for the first couple of months myself 😅 if they are too painful or uncomfortable try using shin protectors, they might help easing and cushing the pressure applied to the euc sides. with time the stance will be more relaxed and less pressure needed to control the euc should result in less pain and bruising. Hope it helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions (I will always answer, even if a tad late). Keep at it and I promise mounting will become a simple one-step thing with time and resilience 🙌💪 ☺️

    do you balance with your butt or feet? I can somewhat balance but haven't tried riding long distance (just a few meters).. but I can't brake

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene Před 4 měsíci

      All of the above and I also use my upper body to help me stear at times. Breaking can be challenging, try to break first at lower speeds then, once you are confident, steadily increment the speed and breaking power. If you still struggle, try to lean back as if you were sitting down to break. Do you power pads?

    • @conraddevera
      @conraddevera Před 4 měsíci

      @@alexiszakarieneI do have pads. and hey, I tried and it turned out I can. I didn't really practice for months bec when I tried I could not even brake and my balance was sketchy. But after months of riding I guess my balanced improved and I tried sitting down while riding (not too fast) and it was not hard. and my balance is good enough that I could move around the seat without wobbling. now braking, still can't, so I stand up and brake for now. which is also easy, I can stand quickly. for now I'll only ride seated when safe

I had to add some rubber on my seat as my bottom would slide when braking. maybe the sliding factor could contribute in inducing the wobbles. Keep me updated on how you get on 🙌

    Fun to hear about your journey with EUCs! Thanks for sharing about the discouraging moments as well. I've had quite a few of those and it's really inspirational to see what an amazing rider you've become despite feeling like it might not be your thing initially. I started a few months ago on a Kingsong 16X and thought I made a huge mistake after fumbling so much with it that first week or two. After a couple of months it started to feel more like riding a bike. I decided to go big and get a Veteran Lynx! After receiving the Lynx and trying it out for a few minutes, I worried I had made huge mistake again and felt like it was just way too much for me. I felt like a beginner again and turning the thing felt incredibly unstable. I didn't even take it outside for 3 days, attempting to ride on the carpet in my living room until I didn't feel like I would immediately tip over. I actually managed to put 12 miles on it inside my house, lol. I've had it a couple of weeks and I'm now able to take 3-5 mile trips around my neighborhood and hit about 23mph. Though I am much better at turning now, it is still very difficult to turn tightly without feeling like I'm going to tip over, ha! Seeing how well you ride is very inspirational to me. I'm in no rush, but I'm super excited to one day confidently ride offroad trails as well as ride in the 30-40mph range on roads without feeling like I'm going to immediately hurt myself, ha!

      @alexiszakariene Will do! I hit 100 miles on it yesterday:). Trying to keep that practice going! I also tried my first two offroad trails. I felt pretty sketchy on certain parts, but was able to do some decent hill climbs, drop off a curb or two, and avoid falling when I hit some loose patches of soil. Had some embarrassing moments out there too, ha! But, it's a learning process and it's coming along at least!

    How you liking the S22 pro compared to your master?

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene Před 8 měsíci

      I must admit I miss the speed, torque and weight ratio of my molicel master. I bought the s22 to learn how to jump. It is great for that as I can hardly bottom it out and casing jumps results less painful for me as a beginner. it is also lighter so I can try different types of exercises. my master molicel had around 40mile range, this s22 seems going for longer at about 50ish. Built quality seems similar and quite poor. I had to spend loads of money upgrading both and making them the way I feel comfortable with, for instance buying protective fairings. plates. on the s22 i live the smart bms. makes me feel safer and it allows me to check when the balancing of the cells is finished at the end of charging with a simple traffic light system on the app

Glad to hear you didn't have any issues and are enjoying it 🙌 Fingers crossed it will stay problem free 🤞🤞🤞 I preferred the s22 over the new 16inch wheels as it has the best suspension travel / pedal height / weight ratio 👌 shame about the poor built quality. most ks22 owners i know had burnt multiple boards which are very expensive parts. my first day offroading one of the linkage bolts came off. ks had manufactured them too short. I would have expected an improvement after over a year of the wheel coming out 🫠🤷 Definitely looking forward to be riding trails with you 😁😊🛞💨
