    I knew the Begode Nikola AR+ was going to be a top heavy beast to learn on but 3 weeks later I'm taking 25 mile trips on it 🙂 Top speed only 21.5 MPH so far though lol

    I'm so glad i found your channel! Thanks a lot for the vid, it's very useful for noobs like me :))
    I just started to learn about EUCs and wanted to buy one, but with winter's coming i think i won't have the oppotunity to practice riding. So right now i'm planning to save some money for a wheel and maybe learn more things.
    Looking forward to see more videos from you!

      Bought my first EUC a few weeks ago. A used V10F that I don't mind banging up. It hasn't been a problem to practice in the late fall so far with temperatures as low as 35F. My winter coat is plenty warm enough, I'm using snowboarding gloves with built in wrist guards that are nice and toasty, and winter boots. The boots aren't the greatest for pedal feel, but they work, and they add ankle protection against pedal clip. A full face helmet with a shield helps keep the face warm, and a scarf to go around the neck. Could even throw on a balaclava under the helmet if it's REALLY cold. My experience while learning is that it takes a lot of physical effort, and your body will heat up fast. The first day I tried to learn mounting, I was huffing / puffing and crazy sweaty. lol. Sadly they've just started putting out salt on the roads / sidewalks... blah.

      @@updlate4756 congrats on the purchase! It seems like learning to ride with winter equipment is crazy difficult. Anyway, good luck with practicing riding :))

      @@lexehwaz Thanks. I'm not sure it's anymore difficult in the winter, you just have to dress for the cold. The difficulty is probably the same for everyone no matter the season. Learning to mount takes some effort. Took me about 30 minutes or so to figure it out. Maybe like 50-60 attempts. Some people catch on faster, some slower.

      Personally, I am not a big fun winter riding either because of the unpredictable slippery ice which i cannot always see...
      Well done for your achievements!! Consistency is key and everyone learn in their own time. The main thing is to have some fun in the process 😊🙌😉

    @Alexis Zakariene Hi Alexia! I just recently found your channel and I'm loving each topic you've posted. Thank you!
    Now, I found this particular video of yours, which first EUC for beginners? I would like to ask you for your honest opinion regarding this particular question of mine, I've always wanted to ride my first ever EUC, but since most of the recent units are quite pricey, I wanted to invest on a long-term unit I can use everyday and also being safety on my mind, reliable and has a long range (commute from home to work and vice versa). I've been eager to buy soon a Sherman S (I know its a bit pricey, but I've heard good things about this unit which can probably can justify my long time investment on my purchase, plus I need an EUC suspension for my knees) as my first wheel. Btw, I'm not really a off-road type of person. Do you think its a wise choice for a beginner to dip his toes unto one of these? Do you have any recommendations I can strengthen my leg muscles fit for riding EUC, without have one yet?

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene  Před rokem +1

      Thank you so much and yes I agree with you on both points: eucs are getting too expensive and sherman S will be a great choice.
      It can take a while to get used to the sherman S weight. The muscles will be painful and the calfs most likely bruised but my suggestion would be to take a step by step approach while learning with gear on and foam around the wheel for added protection at the very beginning. Sherman S might not be the easiest to learn on but with time and patience nothing is impossible.
      Also Sherman S is a great long ranger with plush suspensions and high speed mode to let you keep up with traffic and more. Sherman built quality is known to be solid and reliable. Some riders I know put over 10k miles on them with very little issues. If there is an issue with the batteries the display should tell you and there hasn't been any recorded leaparkim fires to date, although they do not have any form of smart bms yet.
      To conclude, I think you know well what you are looking for and Sherman S will be an excellent choice for it. I am confident it will keep you happy for a long time 😊🙌

      @@alexiszakariene Really appreciate the feedback Alexis. I"ve been researching for so long on what wheel I would buy as my first EUC and after much deliberation, I knew beforehand, I wanted a safe wheel, reliable, has suspension and has long range. At first, it was a toss up between the V13 (more because of its safety first in mind) and Sherman S. Both wheels are very pricey, but more so with V13. Problem with V13 for me is the tall body and its heavier. Anyway, I'm saving up now get a new wheel soon, and wish me luck. Your videos really helped me a lot, esp. with regards to learning by yourself, they will benefit me alot. Thank you!

      @@alexiszakariene Ever since I discovered what EUCs are, they just caught me like a bug, I've been so fascinated with them and wanting to learn more. Been doing my reseatch for the past 2-3 years now, and I'm so obsessed now that I wanted to buy one. One motivation as well is that, no one in my community has an EUC and you rarely see them being driven around my country, so I want to be one of the very few people who does ride one and possible spread the word of EUC awareness. Thanks to your videos, they will greatly add on to my knowledge on how to ride one.
      Alexis may I also ask a simple question...how do you determine what/which is your dominant leg? I'm more a right handed person, does that mean my dominant leg should be my right leg as well? Lastly, when you began your journey riding an EUC, how did you get rid of the fear of falling off your wheel and getting an accident? As a novice, any feedback is really appreciated. Thanks!

    • @alexiszakariene
      @alexiszakariene  Před rokem +1

      Cheers, thanks and i am sure you will enjoy euc and its community greatly 🙌 although where you live there might not be many yet i am sure after they see you they follow suit 😉
      To answer your question about the dominant leg, I would do a simple experiment: stand straight then let yourself drop forward, whichever leg moves first to stop the fall, this will be it. Similar to what they do in snowboarding.
      Accidents happen: learning, euc fault, others fault, etc many things can go wrong, therefore wear gear. Always. Prepare for the fall not the ride. Also it is useful to learn how to fall. Watching tutorial videos on the matter can be vital.
      Falling is part of the game, the main thing for me is to be prepared and aware of what can be overly dangerous or not. No pain, no gain afterall 😊
      My advise would be to learn with a step by step approach so to give your body and mind time to adjust to the new movements, weight and modus operandi.
      Hope it helps, and keep me updated on how it goes 👍
