QuickJack 5000 set up
Hello once again, and welcome if you're new! Today I'm setting up my QuickJack 5000, but in theory this should be relevant to the QuickJack 3500 and QuickJack 7000 as well.
After struggling with jacking and mounting the car corner by corner, I finally bit the bullet and ordered something that was going to make my life MUCH easier. So excited to get to use this, and I hope other folks can find my set up method useful!

Exocet Tank Cover Installation

In this video I'm installing the rear fiberglass tank cover on my exomotive exocet! With a lot of trial and error, the miata is slowly starting to look more and more like a complete kit! Please holler with advice on how to better mark those tab locations from within the fiberglass tank, that was a pain and I'm not sure folks with larger hands could get in those nooks and crannies... I refuse to do anything related to bodywork and wiring for as long as possible, so today I'm working on my seat harness! Holler if I'm doing it wrong, for real haha. EDIT: It may not be good to cut the extra slack off, so just roll it together and zip tie any excess on the harness bar.

After a surprise drop of the exhaust, I'm relieved to see (and hear) there are no holes in the muffler/mid-pipe areas after a short stint with the ground. Today I go about replacing the rotten exhaust hangers to get this sitting where it belongs.

Great music, Kate Bush is awesome. Long live the 80s! And have you seen the QuickJack mod of ziptying on 8 wheels, all 5/8 ball bearing wheels. It lets you slide them around really easily. Lots of videos on CZcams

I have a manual 95 del Sol (with about 250k on it) that makes a whistling noise when "in motion" - most noticable around 15-35 mph. It doesn't matter if the car is on or off, in gear or coasting in neutral, going straight or turning - this high pitch sound is present (interestingly as the car slows down, the pitch also slows down). The brakes, axles, tie rods, ball joints and the rest of the front end - all check out completely fine. In fact, the car drives/handles like new. 5 speed transmission fluid level clean & perfect. Could it be a bad speed sensor causing this noise? BTW, I've taken the car to several repair shops and NO mechanic can figure it out. Help!
There’s a 10mm bolt on the bottom of that window channel…pop it out and you can move the whole channel enough to slip motor behind. Also helps to pull the door speaker out so you can get two hands in there to work

When I bought my s___ box fc rx7 my next purchase was a set of quick jacks. I work alone in my shop a lot and I didn’t want to be crushed to death by 2700lbs of rusty car.
I. Feel. That. The number of times I would check the stands just to change the oil or something quick was maddening! No squish please…awesome car choice, still have it??
@@summerdelsol I do. Chickened out on an Exocet for now (worried about spending a fortune just to have my province tell me no) so I got the fc to play with. Does it run? Yes. Does it drive? I’m not answering any more questions.
@@mmavcanuck hahah i can relate if that helps at all. Are you based in Canada? I know there were a few up there when I was working with them, but it can def be tricky so I get it. Hope the car treats you as well as it can in the meantime!
@@summerdelsol yeah, I’m British Columbia. I know of one that’s insured in Alberta. Only BC one I know of is a racecar that isn’t street legal.

Is 6 Point better ?
I'm sure each harness type has it's pros and cons. My main concern was ensuring I had a point at the base of the seat so I don't slip through in case of an accident. Really this is going to be mostly for street and autox, so if I'm being really particular a standard 3 point harness would be safest, but it might see the track one day so I figured why not.
