So the paint on the tunnel should be covered by a shift boot. Are you going to have to remove the tunnel to install that? Wouldn't think you would want to keep taking it on and off too much.
Depending on the shift boot I shouldn't need to. There are a few with top mount bezels that you can just drill and mount from above that pinch the material in place, so I'll likely go that route. But if there's one I like where I'll need to remove it I can take it off without issue since I didn't rivet the tunnel in. Thanks for watching!
It’s unfortunate that they haven’t improved their manufacturing, but at this point it’s just one of those things that you have to expect when you go into building an Exocet. It’s definitely a case of “perfection is the enemy of good.”
They’re designed not to touch so there isn’t rattle, but I guess ymmv by how much they don’t touch haha. I really don’t think it looks bad honestly.
@@summerdelsol why not apply foam tape as gasket. That should stop it from rattling
@@earla9518 yep! Did just that, but it’s a wear item. Typically people permanently mount these so I think that’s why. I’m leaving mine removable unless it gives me any trouble.
@@earla9518 I had the same thought. Foam tape around the entire perimeter, vs sections, would provide a cushion and also keep heat and airflow from eroding at the edges of the foam. Maybe? Would want some good adhesive compatible with higher temps though.
