Since you had once lived in Washington Heights (I heard you mention that in your Heights Dominican food video), did you ever get pizza from Tommy’s, between 177th-178th on B’way? I’m originally from the Heights, and for me, Tommy’s was the ultimate, along with Luigi’s between 175th and 174th on B’way, right around the corner from where I lived.

Heights native here. If you lived in the building right across from El Malecon, then you must have lived in what was my old building - 700 W 175th Street. I lived in apt 1G. I remember when the space occupied by El Malecon was a donut shop called Classic Doughnut. Though I left the Heights for FL in ‘85, I’ve dined at El Malecon several times when visiting back. Great food! During our last visit there, my wife had their mofongo, same as you had in this video, which was excellent. My MIL, who’s an ultra-picky eater, STILL talks about their mofongo - and she was there only once, 10 years ago! Great video, makes me miss my old neighborhood.
