I live in Croatia and I am retired geologist. Although I’m slowly entering the third age, I still enjoy life to the fullest. I hike, ride a bike, exercise regularly and love traveling. For as long as I can remember, exploring new destinations has been a joy, fulfillment and money well spent for me. Whether it's hiking remote mountain trails, immersing yourself in busy city streets, or relaxing on quiet beaches, every trip has its own appeal and opportunity for discovery. One of the most rewarding aspects of travel, in my opinion, is the opportunity to meet new people, places and cultures. These interactions have enriched and broadened my worldview in ways I could never have imagined. Whether it's tasting exotic foods, participating in traditional ceremonies, or simply observing daily life in a foreign country, I'm fascinated by the richness of cultural diversity. In today's world, I believe that fostering understanding and appreciation of different cultures is more important than ever.
Medvednica || TV Tower viewpoint || Zagreb || Croatia || 4K
Medvednica is a mountain located next to the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Its slopes descend deep into the body of the city, and throughout history it represented both protection and a source of life to the city's inhabitants. The highest peak Sljeme (1033 m) is a popular excursion destination that can be reached by car, cable car or on foot via hiking trails.
The Sljeme TV Tower is 169 m high and is the visual trademark of Medvednica and the highest point above the city of Zagreb, offering a panoramic view of the entire city and its surroundings.

Another place I would love to visit. The landscapes are wonderful. I enjoyed this quick glimpse of the islands. Those vineyards are amazing. The vines have to hunker down amidst that maze of walls to escape the strong winds. We saw something similar on Porto Santo near Madeira. I would love to explore here.
You will not regret. The islands are beautiful. There is a lot of greenery and hiking trails and indeed, it has similarities with Madeira due to its volcanic origin.

Yes, I like the country and its people. The hiking was amazing with outstanding views. The trails on our trek were not technically demanding, but it took several days to get used to the altitude 🥰🥾🏔️

Some really impressive views over Zagreb and the hills surrounding the city. It looks a good option for a walk when visiting Zagreb. Nice too having the option of using the cable cars. Best wishes to you from the UK.
In any case, I recommend visiting the mountain if you come to Zagreb. Hiking trails and cable car are accessible by public transport.

I'm always so excited whenever I can hike to the area where there is river or waterfalls like this. It feels like a reward. I loved how you took a picture of the waterfalls, silky smooth. I bet it is refreshing to come out swimming here. L61
It is a small river that in places forms waterfalls that flow into ponds. The water is clean and clear and very pleasant for swimming 🙏❤️
