- We spent this beautiful spring day on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, walking along the Mirna River, from Kotli to Buzet. On an easy forest path, we pass along and through the river bed where the water has shaped lakes, rapids and waterfalls. We make a short stop at the Zelenscak waterfall, which flows into a beautiful emerald green lake. A branch of the main path leads us to the Grjok waterfall with another fairy-tale lake. In several places we have to cross the river, but the low water level allowed us to do it without difficulty. With a pleasant walk along the Mirna River canyon, we slowly reach our destination Buzet.

I'm always so excited whenever I can hike to the area where there is river or waterfalls like this. It feels like a reward. I loved how you took a picture of the waterfalls, silky smooth. I bet it is refreshing to come out swimming here. L61
It is a small river that in places forms waterfalls that flow into ponds. The water is clean and clear and very pleasant for swimming 🙏❤️

This was an amazing hike. The lake and the waterfall is amazing. The river crossing was the best at least the water level was down. My friend I am sure you and your friends had a great time. Oh 😮 by the way the homemade cookies looked yummy 🤤

The Mirna River is so clear and beautiful, Vedrana. But you had me with the cookies! 🤤😋A gorgeous hike in such a stunning area and we loved it. I don't think I ever told you, but back before I retired Croatia first hit my radar screen. We saw it's beauty on a few TV shows and YT videos. One of those shows was a House Hunting Show called "House Hunters International." (Don't know if it plays there or not) Had me convinced that it would be a great place to retire! The beauty shown here is exactly the reason why! Thanks so much for bringing us along.

Watching your walks has made me realise once more what a beautiful country Croatia is. For many years we have concentrated on long haul destinations saying that we will explore more of Europe when we can no longer travel so far. We are starting to do just that and while I keep looking towards the Balkans we have not got back there yet. Looking at your videos I think we should head that way while we still have a few miles left in our legs. Beautiful landscapes once more.
Thank you Ivor. Croatia is a small country for great vacation. The continental part with endless plains, rolling hills and dense forests, and the Mediterranean part with rugged mountains, fantastic views and the beautiful Adriatic Sea 🌊 🥰
@@vedrana0127 Thanks. We have not really visited much since the days of Yugoslavia. We crossed the country four times on the way to Turkey in 1974 to 1980 and always said we would come back and take more time. Hopefully soon.
