- Medvednica is a mountain located next to the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Its slopes descend deep into the body of the city, and throughout history it represented both protection and a source of life to the city's inhabitants. The highest peak Sljeme (1033 m) is a popular excursion destination that can be reached by car, cable car or on foot via hiking trails.
The Sljeme TV Tower is 169 m high and is the visual trademark of Medvednica and the highest point above the city of Zagreb, offering a panoramic view of the entire city and its surroundings.

Some really impressive views over Zagreb and the hills surrounding the city. It looks a good option for a walk when visiting Zagreb. Nice too having the option of using the cable cars. Best wishes to you from the UK.
In any case, I recommend visiting the mountain if you come to Zagreb. Hiking trails and cable car are accessible by public transport.

I think I would have preferred the cable car up and the hike down as it did look a real steep climb to get to the top. The TV Tower was pretty impressive and amazing views from there, as well as the views going down from the cable car. Cheers Alan
