As I try to apply the Ik the whole model starts to turn around.

Instead of looking at the item panel to check if it's rotation/location is off, you can just enable the rotation or move gizmo and it'll show you which way it's set. Not as much information but it's good in a quick pinch to visualize what's going on.

you had a great looking original dragon (without detail ofc) at 2:00. that was a fun design if you kept it there. my grandma makes dragons, always everything on it, scales ribs in the horns. she always said: i hate to make it so complicated.

Do my human model need to have separate body parts for the bones to work or it can work with all the body parts together? is there a tutorial of yours that can help me on my problem? cause i made a human model for a friend and when i put the bones and the automatic weigh it just deformed and streched like some anti-stress doll

I know this is an older tutorial, but I wanted to say I remember seeing your work on a bunch of GameDev tv courses I was going through. Just like with those, you have a very clear and easy to follow teaching style that I really appreciate. I've tried to get into blender several times over the past ten years or so, and your tutorials are the first ones that haven't left me feeling confused or frustrated

Last night I spent a few hours building a 3d anim for my intro log. I spent 2 hours trying to recreate my SVG by hand. After finishing the attempt, I pondered "Does Grant have a video on this??" Lo and behold you have exactly the tutorial I needed. So now I am importing SVGs and editing them in Blender! SWEEEEEEEET!!!!! Thanks, Grant, Much appreciated!

8:43 My version of Blender doesn't have "normals" in the object data panel Update: If you're using Blender 4.1 and onwards click the blue wrench icon (modifiers). Click "add modifier" then click normals, and auto smooth.

Idk whether or not you have covered this already, but I'm still having trouble with holes on a curved surface. And by holes I mean the ones with corners, to be used with subdivision later. It's one of those times when I just can't brute force it with a higher polycount base mesh.

Oh it so simple, I made a battle pod from Robotech without this function instead I used subdivision tool and extrusion which caused a ton of issues

Thanks for this! i was getting frustrated because I was dragging the image into the build area, not 'opening' it.

Instead of extrude then alt + s to get that effect, just do alt + e to extrude along normals and you will get the same thing but faster.

Hi, I'm very new tot this kind of 3D drawing/sculpting. I've always been drawing in Rhino, mostly for jewelry applications, but this is so fascinating and allowing much more possibilities for creating free form natural 3D models. This is one of the most helpful tutorials I came across! You're explaining every step with the correct empathic attitude to understand it as a beginner. At the moment I've got one crucial question, what kind of pen-tablet would you advice to start sculpting in Blender? Any brand/model you could advice? Anyway, thank you very much for this great tutorial, making it look 'easy'. Can't wait to try this out and build up some experience.
