Last night I spent a few hours building a 3d anim for my intro log. I spent 2 hours trying to recreate my SVG by hand.
After finishing the attempt, I pondered "Does Grant have a video on this??" Lo and behold you have exactly the tutorial I needed. So now I am importing SVGs and editing them in Blender! SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!
    Thanks, Grant, Much appreciated!

@@grabbitt Hi grant , there is a addon called TraceGenius that really simplifies the process.

And maybe we can use CTRL+A and then M - By Distance to deal with the vertices that are too close

Thanks for this! i was getting frustrated because I was dragging the image into the build area, not 'opening' it.

When you extruded .1 m vertically and it went to .2, it looks like it's extruding up AND down, giving you double the extrusion on that axis. So it was a .1 extrusion, but in both directions. I noticed the grid was going through the middle of the shape, rather than sitting on the bottom of it.
Not sure if there's a setting that can be toggled for that, but that looked like what happened.

Hey Grant! Will there ever be a topic about UE5 and integrating models from Blender, transferring animations, materials, etc.? You yourself praised Unreal, so... :D I have your courses on Udemy, but only the Unity thread is covered there.

Cool! I'm already trying to understand this engine, but when you discuss something, everything becomes clear. If you could even record a guide on how to peel potatoes, I would watch it with pleasure :D

I have a problem , please help me out. i will be grateful. if i make logo using 3d models like box, cone etc present in create section of element , then that model is able to be saved and imported into 3D element scene . but when i autotrace any image in after effects and then apply video copilot's E3d effect load image on texture map and auto traced mask in mask map and open E3d scene set up and extrude that model in preview and and load texture on that and save it in folder whose destination is Documents/VideoCopilot/Models , then i am not able to import it . the E3d scene shows it, but E3d preview does not show the model but it is showing the gizmo of that folder which contains model . please help me out.if i make logo using 3d models like box, cone etc present in create section of element , then that model is able to be saved and imported into 3D element scene . but when i autotrace any image in after effects and then apply video copilot's E3d effect load image on texture map and auto traced mask in mask map and open E3d scene set up and extrude that model in preview and and load texture on that and save it in folder whose destination is Documents/VideoCopilot/Models , then i am not able to import it . the E3d scene shows it, but E3d preview does not show the model but it is showing the gizmo of that folder which contains model . please help me out.

Can you convert in B3D a SVG file that the logo is not cut out of the background? I have one that the logo is the transparent part and the background is the black part, hope that makes sense.
