Circle Square - Physical Disabilities (circa 1984)
zhlédnutí 10KPřed 10 lety
Circle Square was a corny Canadian children's show in the early 80's featuring lots of puppets and lip-synching. This episode is notable because it features a documentary called Downhill: Any Way You Can. It is about a man who lost both his legs in an accident and goes on to hold ski clinics for child amputees. The stoicism of the children in the documentary contrasts strangely with the well-me...

Can't expect kids to heed the warnings of these shows when the main characters are using drugs and end up involved in a sex tape scandal and dead (Plato). 😞😞
@8:20 My first car!!! Bought and paid for myself, all 400 of it used of course. 1975 Mustang red on white interior. 😔
I now have a vhs copy of clips of this , channel surfing on September 6, 1997. My clips only feature the younger version characters and so this is awesome to see more of it.
I have such vivid memories of the first time I heard the word divorce. In 1980 I was nine years old and overheard my mother and her friend talking about someone in our road who was going to have a divorce,in the sort of voice mothers use thinking that their children won't hear them! I thought it was a terrible illness. That night in the bath I confessed and asked what it meant. It rocked my whole world. Until then it had never even crossed my mind that mummies and daddies could not live in the same house, with their children. I couldn't sleep that night,my dad had to come up and reassure me that they would never get divorced (years later they did) and I cried myself to sleep. I had never even heard my parents have a serious quarrel! I don't know how they did it. I can remember the atmosphere on a couple of occasions where they obviously had fallen out and were putting on a good face for us children. But in those days adults behaved like adults and put their children's needs before their own.i often think about this, especially when my daughter tells me stories from her friends who have lots of brothers & sisters from all different fathers &end up living with a step father &his new wife etc or who found a strange man in the bathroom when they got up for the toilet in the night,or how when they stay at the father's house his new girlfriend will cook for them &her children &refuse to cook for his children... and he lets her. Such selfish, infantile adults and the poor children who are pushed & pulled and forgotten about in the struggle for 'ME'! So so sad. Of course I am not advocating staying in abusive marriages, but we have made everything disposable in our consumer culture, even children.
11:54, 20:53
I love how Sonny from the Godfather is collecting parking fees.
at 14:53 anybody else recognize the doctor Spock handbook? My parents had that book when I was a baby.
What happened to the ending
The mother who kept his house and his children and is paid a constant stream of alimony sure is passive aggressive! She acted like an adult child, self obsessed as usual, especially in the restaurant where it should have been about their daughter. Typical...nothing changes.
Rest in peace Dominique dunne ❤❤
Never seen this flick before. But Dennis Weaver was so good in duel.
Those babies are now 44 years old.
I haven't seen this episode since it aired all those years ago. My twin sister and I were 10 watching this with our big brother and sister. Memories!!
Thank you I have been looking for this for 20 years
He needs to hold his balls up😊
14:50 🤣🤣🤣
This needs to be shown in schools worldwide
Ally Sheedy!
Dominique Dunne is one of the most beautiful people to walk on this earth ever!
😢
To be honest, after 10 years or whatever the kid should get over it
Awwwwwwe...so sad at the end...😢
Wow such a beautiful movie ❤Does anyone know who sang the theme song ?
I'm so glad he tried! What courage it took for him to realized he couldn't do it and made sure his baby could with with a couple who could.
23:14 that lady was usually in comedies.
I wish this time error never left the old house phones no social media drive in movies and meeting you’re friends at the burger spot or the drive in movies tennis shoes and jeans .. shit how cheap everything was and just how pure and fun it used to be .. I tell my mom all the time I was born in the wrong time error .. she said she had a lot fun when she was a young girl .. she said these tv shows and error was her time ..
I hadn’t realized that Dennis Weaver & Valerie Harper had died. I knew about Dominique Dunne’s death. Gosh, such beloved people.
Like some teenage girl would have sex with Rob Lowe. Forget about it.
I love Dominique
wow. everybody makes mistakes but not every grown-ass man has the mental capacity of a 2 year old.
Nothing weird about kids doing random activities then when music starts to play they all just randomly and creepily pop their heads up to sing all at the same time!! This was pretty standard practice for Christian Children’s shows like Psalty & Colby as well
Poor sound
Rich sound
These young girls. Spread their legs, acting like there's no such thing as birth control, then get mad when their pregnant! This is 2024, and this is the norm today....baby mommas and baby daddies, multiple children out of wedlock.
Wow! Rob Lowe and Dana Plato!
This special is the original tv movie from "To Young to be a Dad" from Life Time. There is nothing new under the son.
1:15 Charles singing like a bee gee😅.
Barry Gibb 😂❤.
show tried to capitalize off the movie when they got married -- but it just failed -- the nostalgia wore off until the brady christmas -- then they tried to capitalize off that with the brady 500 which did well but the series was terrible -- it was more about reliving instead of moving forward it wasn't very funny and could not be dramatic -- it just failed to develop with proper writing -- the cast along could not save it -- none of the other brady kids appeared in this series -- alice appeared but not robert and that did not go over either -
McCloud has a heart.
To give your own child away is petty harsh for the baby as well the father and grandmother, we all make mistakes, but now the baby has to pay for the mistake that his father made, the parents and grandmother had absoluut no love for they're own son and grandson, that baby will grow up without any real parents, and later on in live he probably wil look for his real parents, but the real love will never and ever be there anymore for the parents and grandparents. as well Rob and his mom did not even love him that much, because her own work and his party was more important than they're little son and grandson. If you love your own child, you do everything what you need to do, to be there for your child, even if you have to quit school, or need other arrangements to make some money, but they did not want to do it, because the parents did not want to take the responsibility for there own mistakes, that's why it's easier to punished the baby that can not response back at this age. that's why there is not much love in this world anymore, women can spread there legs for anything that they want to have between it, and man jump every thing what they can ump on, and if there comes a baby from, then it's either to give it away or murder it (abortion) We are living in a terrible time. I can find no words for all the people that are doing this, but they should punish them all.
Cringe overload
I'M OUT, 🤢🤧 SELFISH PERSON, GAVE WHOLE STORY AWAY 😂😢🥵🤢🤪🥺🍋
This is an emotional yet beautiful story. ❤❤❤❤❤
Why are they all screaming?
