there will always be a "wasn't her" connection for me, as I watched V: the miniseries, but didn't see Poltergeist until it came on tv, and that just brought who she was here and who she was there together, and then had to connect who her father was and of course, Griffin Dunne, but when I finally managed to read what all happened online and the poor other fellow from V who was a witness (always wondered why he didn't do anything else as well) it all just comes together like a made-up story. The only thing I really watch nowadays, if I do, is Poltergeist. I should try watching V again sometime, I suppose.

What a most wonderful, enduring, heartfelt story here. It was so nice to see Dennis Weaver play a role as a family man, vs anything to do with crime & the like. Love Valerie Harper. What really got to me, in regards to a most beautiful lovely actress that Dominique Dunne was indeed, it was such a heartfelt watch, knowing her life was taken from her, a year later, after this film came out ... omg did the tears flow, especially toward the end, when she gave such a touching moving performance (just before the wedding took place), knowing she'd be murdered within the next year, in real life, and not in a made for TV movie. So sad. As well as it being that Dennis, Valerie & Miss Dunne are no longer with us. "RIP" life is too precious to not live it to the fullest. Make each & every day, and all moments, count.

I remember Dennis Weaver on " McCloud" many years ago. Great movie, parents should all be more considerate of what divorce puts children through. They need stability first and foremost. Kids are more resilient than we give them credit for,but their needs should always come before our own, especially during a divorce. Too many people go into marriage with an attitude of " well if it doesnt work ,we can always get a divorce" Thats not commitment. If youre not in it for the long haul, then dont get married. 👰🤵👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.

There's is a difference between giving up and getting out... To many times an abused woman stays in the marriage "for the sake of the children" when in reality staying in the relationship is the worse thing they can do... In this case it's called getting out.. Giving up is very different.. Divorcing because of bickering and difference of opinion or because one is working and the other... That's giving up.. and it doesn't teach children how to resolve conflicts or to deal with a bad situation...

I have such vivid memories of the first time I heard the word divorce. In 1980 I was nine years old and overheard my mother and her friend talking about someone in our road who was going to have a divorce,in the sort of voice mothers use thinking that their children won't hear them! I thought it was a terrible illness. That night in the bath I confessed and asked what it meant. It rocked my whole world. Until then it had never even crossed my mind that mummies and daddies could not live in the same house, with their children. I couldn't sleep that night,my dad had to come up and reassure me that they would never get divorced (years later they did) and I cried myself to sleep. I had never even heard my parents have a serious quarrel! I don't know how they did it. I can remember the atmosphere on a couple of occasions where they obviously had fallen out and were putting on a good face for us children. But in those days adults behaved like adults and put their children's needs before their own.i often think about this, especially when my daughter tells me stories from her friends who have lots of brothers & sisters from all different fathers &end up living with a step father &his new wife etc or who found a strange man in the bathroom when they got up for the toilet in the night,or how when they stay at the father's house his new girlfriend will cook for them &her children &refuse to cook for his children... and he lets her. Such selfish, infantile adults and the poor children who are pushed & pulled and forgotten about in the struggle for 'ME'! So so sad. Of course I am not advocating staying in abusive marriages, but we have made everything disposable in our consumer culture, even children.

They sure don't make movies like this anymore. It took me 2 days to finish watching it, because I had other things to do. It's a blessing to be born before technology took over society, as I'm watching these old classic movies it sends a powerful message about what happens when you leave that one true person you married. Adulttery comes with consequences, that's why there was nothing but sadness and sorrow through out this movie. Sin does nothing but caused anxiety, it's a separation from God.
