I think that the demos that we can find on the Novation site are outdated. Any Peak or Summit owner can do way better that that. The firmware 2.0 also changed some things. Great synth for sure. The best I put my hands on. A futuristic vintage machine 😁

About the price of the Proton vs Pro 800. The Pro 800 is actually much cheaper now at Thomann. It shows how insanely cheap the Pro 800 is. I mean you get Polyphonic Aftertouch with 8 voices and storage of patches. Essentially a Prophet T8 in rack form! That is just nuts! It is not Proton that is expensive, it is the Pro 800 that is extremely cheap!

I’m part synth vegan 🌱 😂, I do get mad all the behringer stuff I want not available yet but don’t hate the company at all. I did pull the trigger on a Yamaha reface cp cause I wanted the SE-02 but after ya mentioned it with haze it made sense for lofi with all the 8 bit 12 bit drum machines I have the dam TEO-5 fund has to wait a bit .

In my opinion, Behringer System 55 is the best. 2600 comes second. UB-Xa comes third.

I´ve got a Peak (first) and then a Summit (second). For a short time I´ve had a Peak and a Summit on my desk ... a 24-voice "monster" poly combo. Awesome. The Peak was then sold and I´m still amazed by the Summit and be really happy with this excellent synth. Not just the sound but also quality, UI and the ease of patch programming makes the Summit a "lonely island" synth. Furthermore, some months ago, a Polybrute (6) was added. Maybe it sounds ridiculous but there´s less "overlap" between the Summit and the Polybrute than one might think. They have a lot of complementing features and are a powerful (and beautiful) "polyphonic power-house". Some days ago I´ve got an offer for a near mint Rev2 for a very attractive price but as for me the Summit offers so much more (and adding the Rev2 would be just pure "GAS").

For those who prefer several more focused easier to use synths over having fewer deeper do-it-all synths the classic clones are a dream come true. For some $400 for Proton might seem a lot especially given pricing on other pieces. You get a LOT for your money. Throw it in their Eurorack Go case with a Model 15 and 7 other Behringer modules and you have something WAY better than their System 35 (or any other $1k modular setup) at about the same price.

A beatstep pro type clone with 2 expression pedal inputs and a joystick. Using a sequencer like driving a car would be nuts

I just dont get the point of buying one prior the other as they both have sampling function. Unless for the look, why would you buy the BMX instead of Linn Brum ?

I've had my eye on a swing for a few months, they ran out of them or something, a few site had them for $126, Amazon had them for the same price, but a bunch of sites just didn't have them in stock. Then last week they popped back up everywhere for $80. I think I'm going to grab one. Behringer Bros 4 Life.

I agree with the Samurai. Behringer should focus more on building their own SYNTHS!

Those indept Proton video's from Behringer were very interesting and gave a very good impression of their capabilities. It's an awesome machine! And to pronounce it, just remember a Bear In Ger(many, the country).

I know you like talking about synths and the industry, but this is the stuff! 👍I also know you like the Ambient 0, but am unsure it adds much to such a capable setup... Folks packaging pre-sets would be smart to assemble 128 matching "palettes" for Wavestate. (You would want to use an external controller/keyboard because AFAIK if a layer is active it responds to the local controls)
