I was fortunate enough to get a Polybrute 6 at launch and still love it, will never trade it in.
On the PB12 launch I was suggesting the PB6 is the way to go, not enough apart from extra voices to kae me even consider it but the PB6 is more than enoiugh with plenty of expressive controls. My most recent aquisition the Sonicware ambient 0 is amazing too, 100% recommend it and amazing value, you don't have to shell out big bucks to find gear that is satisfying and inspiring

This is so selfish but I like many others have become addicted to your channel Samurai (Congratulations) and now I want a new video or live stream nightly (Which is ridiculous I know but that how much I and many others love when a new LIVE or Osc and Perc in the AM, and Synth Car... and now the LIVE STREAM duals which totally rock!!! Like pioneers introducing more interactive, informative content with live input from you (or you two) and the live chat stream....I can see this growing even more soon to eventually be something like private Zoom sessions with 8-10 people live streaming...... That could be a little excessive, but we're starting to get used to the LIVE interactions, feelings, that keyboard typing can't express... PLus you get to "know" the presenters even more.. so having special guests over time would be cool.... Make 1 night SS and EchoKraft!! (Don't give that up) Make another nite SS and Tefty or PAD or anyone following along, Subscribed and lovig this channel... The energy and material you're covering and all the various styles and interactions, and on and on and on you are like THE new CZcams Synth Star of this unique and blended realm of interests, opinions, desires, dislikes, financial crap and on and on..... I'm so tired of the TV anymore (which I have rarely watched for the past few years....) but leave it on in the background because I'm single and you kinda need that.. (or blast some cool jams too!!)..
We're desiring more Synth Samurai!!! HAHAHAHAH!! As I said, that's so selfish to ask because you ARE a HARD working guy all over... Young and SO full of contagious energy and information!! I know being married and other home responsibilities have to take priority A LOT but I just wanted you to know I enjoy your channel so much that I want to turn it on at 8:00 EST EVERYNIGHT and see the Samurai Live with Echo or special guests or like today... introducing the C15... Just WOW!! And it's over a year old and I never knew!!!!! Man your vid today blew me away (as you mentioned Echo Kraft and me with our "tingling chicken bubbles" or something !!! I felt that "Playing the Quantum live again" even though I was just watching/hearing it on video.... Just WOW!!! Rocked my day for sure!! (And) sorry for rattling, it LOOKS SO much like an expensive "Fine" instrument... I'm a black lover, but I'd have to go with the natural wood on this one..... Yeah. The price hurts.......... Kinda tough... But man... I think this thing has such a massive sonic spectrum of range and soft and lush to bitterly ice cold and hard to pristine tines with rainbows and unicorn farts..... This thing has a place in ANY studio... (Just my opinion)
I think I am addicted to Your Channel . :). If You on budget I suggest used Nord Electro and TEO5 it might be what You need . I use to have it Take 5 was interesting beast. I loved the split on that thing, But after while it was boring. TEO5 it might be also boring if You have synths from upper shelf. Waiting for that Muse and I exchanged originall Perkons for Black One. When they get here I make video for You how they pair and maybe to pair muse with Octatrack also. Peace.

The Polybrute 6 has normal channel aftertouch but it also has what Arturia calls dual channels aftertouch. In this mode, only the last note or notes played will be affected. For example, let’s say you play a chord with the left hand without engaging the aftertouch, then with the right hand you start playing a melody while engaging the aftertouch. In dual channel aftertouch mode, only the notes of the melody will be affected by the aftertouch, not the chord. Basically in this mode, the Polybrute only apply aftertouch to the note or notes that are played within a short time frame where the aftertouch is engaged. I’ve had a Polybrute since February 2021 and I’m keeping it. If you can get one in mint condition for $1800, it’s a no brainer IMO because even if you don’t end up keeping it, you will likely be able to sell it for the same price so you’ll loose only the equivalent of the Reverb commission.

The only opposition as far as teo-5 vs poly B 6 is getting that sweet rich thick oberheim sound that you may get close on a poly B 6 but i don't know if you can get all the way!! Tough decisions. A band I played a show with had the OB6 matched with the microcosm and several other effects and I was floored with the sound. I have been trying to raise funds for that sound ever since. Band name was "Modeling" album name "Somewhere Before" on spotify if anyone is curious. hearing that OB6 live at a great venue literally had me standing there wishing I didn't have to go on stage after that lol.

Already having a Novation Summit I thought the PB6 would be too much overlapping soundwise. But 3 months ago there was an offer for a 2nd hand (mint) Polybrute 6 ... and I couldn´t resist.
My conclusion after 3 months: An excellent synth with a fantastic sound and a great UI. It´s a lot of fun to explore and to create own patches. And not to forget that the Polybrute is a real beauty. A "buy and you don´t regret" recommendation.

All the Arturia brutes have their own sound. The design and build are great but I never liked the sound of them. Not sure if it’s the oscillators or the filters. Owned the Mini/Matrix and Poly. Sold them all. But I think the poly 12 sounds better. I could be wrong
For performers, skilled keyboardists, the most exciting part of a keyboard is the expression played live without taking our hands off the keyboard. Sound designed for each song, velocity and Vswitching, various pedals, AT, polyAT, and now Arturia poly AT. It is a no brainer for me, the PB12 as they are calling it, would be my choice over the Muse with that adjustable AT and 4 more voices. I have a Kurzweil with 6 pedals for modulation, it is still more powerful expressive synth than an Osmose, PB12, or a Hydra. Old organ players like using our feet to play other keyboards (pedalboards) and expression/switch/sustain/halfsustain pedals. ;)
Yeah, I have the Hydra SYNTH deluxe and just the poly after touch is so much fun. I would love to get a hold of the Osmose I can only dream of getting the PB 12

The Polybrute 6 goes down in price on the used market because people want to get rid of them to get a new Polybrute 12. That's no surprise to me. I'm keeping mine.

I tried the Polybrute 6 at Guitar Center. It is a muscle synth and it sounded fat. Super low end. But Muse demos , wow

Recently I saw Dr. Mix PB 12 video and was quite impressed. A 2-pole Oberheim still sounds nicer, but there is undoubtedly more going on with the Polybrute. I don't want to imply anything, but especially the PB 12 looks damn beautiful & sounds so mighty. Watching Dr.Mix PB12 video was my first time thinking that it actually doesn't matter that it sounds less HiFi than a TEO/OBX8 because the PB12 is a true masterpiece in its own right.

This is why I loved the rollout of the Poly12 - makes the acquisition of a Poly6 easy peasy. If you are doing up a TEO 5, a few hundred more and you are at a used Poly6. GC has one right now for 1599!

I've had a PB6 since release and i have to say it needs all the expressive controls and modulation. at its core the oscillators and filters aren't thst great. I was disappointed at first but I've grown to like it. it's unique. if you like the sound go for the PB12 forget PB6 . not enough voices and the keyboard is bad. sell all your smaller keyboards and just have a few big ones. PB12, muse and sequencial pro 3. (maybe a teo or take5) . you will not need anything else. 😊

Mopho x4 is a fabulous synth if you can find one in good shape for under $700, but I do not think it adds much to your current setup. Polybrute is channel AT. Even though the ribbon and morphe are great expressive features in the end it still only sounds like a Polybrute. (X, Y, Z on the morphe sharing mod source lanes was one of the BIG design mistakes) In a mix with effects there is absolutely nothing it delivers you do not already have. However, that is not the case for Matrixbrute IMHO which can be had for under $1k which is ridiculous. Sometimes unison out of a poly for a mono patch is what you want, but just as often a really good mono is the better choice for a number of reasons. It would be perfect for a LOT of your solo and bass lines.

The Mopho x4 is brilliant, it sounds like a prophet. All dave smith/sequential synths sound like prophets. They have different colors, magic, sci fi, smooth etc They all do the same thing though. They all operate the same. I class the teo5 too as a prophet. Trigon = Prophet, Evolver = you better believe it yet another prophet.
