Scientific Studies Lazy Eye
In this video, Dr. Heather McBryar FCOVD from Amplify EyeCare Chattanooga talks about the amblyopia treatment studies (ATS) which were conducted in order to evaluate various treatment options for amblyopia. The following conclusion were drawn from the study:
● It is important to ensure the child is receiving the appropriate type of optical correction.
● For children who had a moderate amount of amblyopia, patching two hours a day while performing near tasks was just as effective as them wearing a patch for six hours a day.
● Atropine drops were found to be as effective as 2 and 6 hours of patching in cases of moderate and severe amblyopia. This makes it an excellent first line treatment or an alternative to patching.
Furthermore in our blog we share some additional research that highlights the importance of in-office vision therapy in combination with occlusion therapy such as patching or atropine.

As someone who has not had peripheral vision their whole life I can say this is accurate but curious as to what peripheral vision looks like.

I got my lazy treated at the last minute when I was 7 but the eye lost some vision. Oddly a couple of days after taking kava kava recently the vision improved in that eye. I thought I was going blind because my glasses no longer worked the same but it's because the vision improved and I need a new prescription.

Hey. I recently had a serious accident and lost my spleen and broke my femur. Also i got double vision when both eyes are open but when only the left is open, the eye feels shaky. But the right is fine. Is it solvable or should I give it time? It has been 2 months now. Thanks.

Hi I know this is an old comment but I can only see 3 rows of the contrast chart as well and just barely make out the 4th. Did you ever go to the eye doctor about it and get diagnosed? Cos I've been to several and they don't know what's wrong unfortunately and why my contrast is getting progressively worse..
