    Just too clarify, it has 1 gigabit (1gbps) Ethernet, not 1 gigabyte (1GB/s) Ethernet. This is 12.5MB/s I guarantee that this was a mistake and 100mpbs would probably be fast enough, but I did want to clarify.

    I find the range from the Home Hub to the camera could be better, I keep getting push notifications about one of the cameras disconnecting from the hub. It’s approx 10 meters away, no thick walls or anything noteworthy in between.

    I'm an ewelink user and have subscribed to the advanced plan enabling use of carplay for ewlink switches (connected to a vehicle hotspot) I use to operate exterior vehicle lights. My problem is when I'm in areas with no internet service, carplay will stop working since the ewlink device needs a connection to ewlink server hence needs to be online to enable carplay. I could of course use the phone app/bluetooth however its not practical while I'm driving through rough terrain, off road etc. typically areas with no internet service. What can I do?

    Great video. I wonder with RTSP on the hub if that would improve the compatibility with Home Assistant? For example, I have the reolink doorbell cam and E1 Pro but if I turn RTSPtoWebRTC then some of my cameras lose audio, which I know is an issue with Reolinks cameras. I wonder if hooking them up to the hub and passing the feeds that way would improve the compatibility.

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 2 dny

      Thats a good point Jeffrey, I only have the Duo3 and Argus and both of those now work perfectly. As part of the Home Hub integration with their existing cameras they seem to be revising a significant number of firmware's, so maybe any negative "features" will be resolved in this revamp. Did you check the compatibility list to see if yours are listed?

    Thank Paul for the great review. Did you have to have supplemental light (street lights or porch light) to get the color (colour) night vision? How does it mount?

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 3 dny

      There are street lights but they are quiet far away, there are no porch lights in that example. I have to say I was blown away with the quality of the night vision. The mount is the standard 1/4", that same that's used on many security cameras such as the Arlo's. Also fits my gutter and solar mount (ref s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DmUOa0b) which is a must have if you are not permanently mounting.

    Getting bad indentation of a mapping entry for max_retries: 3 and default_measurement: state. The last 2 lines of code for Yaml have a problem with the latest update? I am local to Victoria Australia. Just subscribed.

The last two parameters are for: max_retries: This is the maximum number of connection attempts Home Assistant will make to the InfluxDB server before giving up. You’ve set it to 3. default_measurement: This is the default measurement name that will be used when writing data to InfluxDB. You’ve set it to state. My advice, run on the defaults and remove and retest.

      Hi Rick, the "people" option is accessed by pressing the "profile" icon in the top left of the home screen in the Alro App (I'm running version 4.15 (7556)) then "people". I cant see any reason why you would not see this in the forums. You are simply giving view access to the new email address so that HA can use this to access your cameras. Otherwise, HA will "fight" over access to your Arlo cameras with the login that you use on your phone app. Hence logging out your phone app when HA wants access to your cameras.

    Great overview thanks, been hunting for a while for an affordable mower that integrates into HA. Just bought the R4 online tonight based on your video, perfect size for my lawn, ha integration (albeit via developer tools) and good price point. will see how it goes… If you happen to speak to Husqvarna again, tell them they made a sale specifically because of home automation integration. Really don’t understand why vendors don’t do this free and as standard, they would sell so much more product, cheers from NZ!

      I don't think you will be disappointed. It was a great robot mower with features well ahead of the rest. The tracking system I mentioned in the video was amazing, I think I called in black magic. Let us know how it turns out :)

    Sounds pretty good to me. Wondering how quick and accurate the lux metering is? Really want to get rid of that giant Eve Motion sensor on my fridge which I basically just use for brightess metering since any other sensor I have is terrible at it... 😅

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 7 dny

      Lux is a tricky one. In my testing it accurate enough to make a determination as to light levels for automatically turning on the lights, however, its not a lux specific meter. What it comes down to is the user case that you are looking to solve. Also this is a multi object tracking motion sensor (which is really cool ! :)) but do you need that functionality? my current top picks are the MSR2 or SNZB06 (which doesn't have lux levels really) or the MTR1 are Aqara FP2 for multi target tracking (which is ALOT more expensive).

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 7 dny

      Different, MSR2 is a microwave motion sensor, works with single objects. The MTR-1 is a multi object tracker, the MSR2 cannot do that.

      Thats a great question and I'm not sure. I run some old Arlo 2 Pro's with a base station and that works perfectly and was the only battery powered camera I could get working in HA (wait for the Reolink video coming soon!). So I'm unsure if these work without a base station and its not called out in the integration documentation of forums. If you give it a go can you let us all know how things go?

    Hi there ! I am facing a problem while trying to connect from the Silabs Firmware Flasher. My dongle device is displayed in the selection list but the flasher is not being able to connect into it. After some time loading, the following message is being displayed: "Connection failed The running firmware could not be detected. Make sure the USB port works and if you are using a USB extension cable, make sure the cable can transfer data. Unplug the Sonoff ZBDongle-E and plug it back in to reset and try again." I've already verified everything I could. My dongle is the correct version, Zigbee Dongle-E The driver installed on my windows is the latest: 11.3.0.176 Tried the connection in all USB ports on my computer (USB3.0 and below) Could you give me some help ?

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 10 dny

      Driver is the latest, so that's not the issue. Have you tried a different browser? Chrome is the best for compatibility.

    • @kerkhoff
      @kerkhoff Před 9 dny

      @@smart_home_australia yep, I've tried Edge as well. I've also tried in another computer. I saw things related to the dongle not being in boot mode, or something like that... Some guys were asking to open the device and press the boot button. I've just tried it and got the same result. How can I know if the dongle I have is V1 or V2 ? Would it be causing it ? To be honest... I don't know what version I have, but, as I just bought it... I'm assuming it should not be the issue :(

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia Před 9 dny

      To find out the version you have assuming that it is connected to Home Assistant, Navigate to SETTING > SYSTEM > HARDWARE > ALL HARDWARE, scroll to ttyACM and you should see your ZBDongle listed. The name should say something like "ITEAD_SONOFF_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2", indicating if its a V1 or V2. As for your issue, it must be relating to the Dongle, so your conclusion of the version might be correct. Check out the video description for a 15% discount code on Sonoff, might be time to treat yourself :)

      Managed to flash it, but was a bit of a pain. Didnt hat much luck in windows with it, plugged it into a rasperrry pi, then it showed up as cdc_acm 1-1.4:1.0: ttyACM0: USB ACM device. Flashed the firmware with universal-silabs-flasher --device /dev/ttyACM0 --bootloader-reset sonoff flash --firmware ncp-uart-hw-v7.4.3.0-zbdonglee-115200.gbl and that work,ed tried to flash it again to be sure, but said its allready flashed with that version so it wont again. Had to screw it appart to be able to press the boot button when plugging in. That Universal Silabs Flasher isnt a lightweight too, you need pip to instal it and after that you can install it . If it complains about missing attrs module even if it installs it, run pip install --upgrade attrs. pip somehow messes this up

      If you check back through the comments you will see the same issue from anther channel member. It would seem that not all NSPAnel Pro's were made equal and that some have different internal hardware. The upgrade must really push the internal space requirements to the very limit. Three options. - Make sure you use exactly the versions of firmware used in the demo. - Start deleting "stuff" to make the space (not the ideal and dangerous, but seemed to work for the other channel member) - Switch this device to web view only Ref: czcams.com/video/j6s1zTiKmkg/video.html I hope that helps.

      Style information in XML is typically found in attributes or associated style sheets, but this XML seems to be purely for data and configuration, not for presentation. Therefore, it doesn’t contain any style information. If you’re looking to style this XML for presentation, you might want to consider using XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations), which is a language for transforming XML documents into other types of documents such as HTML or CSS. 😊

      Two answers and one new observations 1) Nope it doesn't inform you, but then again if its lost internet connection how can it ? 2) It doesn't seem to tell you who is connected to the device, sorry. One feature I mentioned was sentry mode when it scans every hour for abnormalities. At the time I think I said, nice feature, but in practice I love this feature. for some reason, knowing with an acknowledgement that everything is fine gives me a level of assurance. I think this should be an option on all security cameras.

      OK lets assume you have the integration installed, so you added something like the following to your configuration.yaml telegram_bot: - platform: polling api_key: YOUR_API_KEY allowed_chat_ids: - YOUR_CHAT_ID Then if you wanted to send a message via Telegram based on a binary sensor (change to light entity state or as required), you would use automation YAML code similar to automation: - alias: Send Telegram message trigger: platform: state entity_id: binary_sensor.front_door from: 'off' to: 'on' action: service: telegram_bot.send_message data: title: 'Home Assistant' message: 'Front door is open.'
