Rooster Teeth Inspired Me
Welcome to my therapy session with a company that had a massive influence on my film career growing up. From the early days of being a superfan, to the gradual corruption of corporate greed, and finally coping with their shutdown...this one's a journey.

When she got pulled by that weird dude I jumped and I was really scared.
Never knew Albert Einstein was built like that
Watching this when I was 7-8 and coming back as a 21 year old is like sheesh talk abt nostalgia
Poor sack face
came back after years while drunk to see if yall made video
i used to be a kid but now i’m 23 yrs old yall really made my child hood i can’t believe we’ve come this far
Haha welcome back 🍻
Anybody here in 2024
Oh my gosh Rage Quit. I totally forgot. I need to go back and watch the GOW3 horde mode video again. XD Monty Oum is my main inspiration from the crew. For years didn't realize Haloid was made by him and I thought it was one of the coolest things that one guy was able to pull that off. Learning his story, and realizing he was the guy behind the fight scenes in RvB, I wound up finding myself on the path to wanting to make my own halo shorts. But this was back when I was 14. I gave up due to my own harsh inner critic, but in the wake of this.. I want to find a way to carry the torch. Making my own models right now to later animate. I still have old models from the past I could rework. Weapons first, characters next.
Damn. You still make videos? I remember you as CACox97, 14 years ago. You had the nerf wars and the nerf zombie apocalypse with the asian kid in it. I remember all of that brooo.
Haha yes I do! I make horror films and also film advice/inspiration advice. I tackle a fair amount of stuff covering my long career of indie filmmaking that all started with the nerf videos back in the day.
Great video man. I'm guessing YT directed me here in my suggestions cause I just did a live stream basically covering the same stuff and offering my thoughts and feelings about RT. Not nearly as well structured and to the point as yours though (I def was bumbling my way through mine haha) Was the same as you I started via Achievement Hunter (first ever HORSE episode) and from there fell in love with so many AH series plus Red vs Blue and beyond that RWBY. I've stayed a fan ever since but like you I wasn't surprised when the announcement of the shutdown came out. For me all I wanna do is look back on those glory years when the content was golden and enjoy the memories anytime I do go searching for there videos rather than think about the bad times. Still one of the all time great media companies ever
Ay shoutout to the algorithm haha. Thanks for checking it out! Yeah it’s the ultimate challenge not to let the negative present taint the positive past. Ultimately the negative is only bad if you’re not learning from it. If you let it just be negative you don’t turn it into a new positive.
Its literally 4:30 1:32
That was really good😮 BRAVO!

if RackaRacka can make a actual movie i think you can too
Chris your acting in this one was incredible!! Keep Going bro.
I LIKEY
Year 19 of me asking random horror channels to narrate “Double Dare to be Scared” stories. Specifically “Mountain Childers”
I've never heard of that! Is it similar to "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark"? That's the horror book series I grew up on.
This video is speaking mad facts about rooster teeth, I grew up with along side you (Cacox97), it was def a time to be around
I remember finding RT through Fails of the Weak and being so obsessed with the infinite sandbox that was Halo: Reach. I then remember finding you series "cool and funny clips" in reach and loving that as well, I can still remember your commentary in my head. I also remember me and my friend studying your nerf videos trying to find inspiration for our own nerf video which is still up on one of my old YT accounts from like 2011 lmao. There's definitely a huge breadcrumb trail of RT's inspiration in your content which I think trickled into me watching your content and trying to emulate it too. I think the main issue RT had was they weren't able to evolve to the newer meta of the internet/ youtube. Whether that was at the fault of WB or internal RT who knows but their content post 2020 felt too different from what they became popular for, but not interesting enough to catch the algorithm and garner new fans. It was like this weird middle ground of not pleasing old fans and not being interesting enough to new viewers. The other issue I had was they added new cast members by what seemed like their level of clout and not for their ability to mesh and create interesting videos, like I have no problem with adding new cast members but I feel like half of them didn't even know what RT or Achievement Hunter even was before joining which made their transition into videos kinda awkward and eventually lead to a shift in personality which was too different from what RT was known for. Also all the controversies didn't help lmao. I guess all things have to come to an end and RoosterTeeth had a great run for a long time but when you have content based around certain personalities it has to burn out sometime, 21 years is still an incredible feat. I feel like I've watched your content on and off since I first found CZcams, it's really nice to hear your relationship with RT and the journey you've been on.
Thank you for your in depth response! I agree, the new personalities didn't mesh well and part of that might have been they didn't understand why the fans liked the existing personalities. Having any project or ongoing series based around personalities is gonna die off eventually when the personalities move on. Thank you for returning and continuing to watch me through the years of my own ups and downs. I hope to continue in the present with a new wave of inspirational and exciting new projects like my upcoming horror short and discussing my filmmaking career through inspiration videos like this and film advice for others.
4:14 Bro said “I heard you was talkin shit about me”?
This has a 70s type horror movie look which I like horror in the 70s and the 80 s were the golden era for the genre todays horror is still good like films like smile the first omen amongst others I think I might be getting a little tired of the scream franchise I only saw the first three films. But there are still some great horror out there besides the two that I mentioned including the conjuring films paranormal activity franchise. The nun series the insidious films the list of great horror goes on and on but this was just awesome great job guys this is my second time watching this classic the horror genre will always be superior IMO
70s and 80s were def awesome. Nowadays it’s the more indie horror scene I prefer like Krisha, Hereditary, The VVitch, The Lodge
Dont look away

Okay the reference to "And I'm Gus" was great
Haha glad you caught that 😁
I was looking through my old comments and saw one on your channel from ages ago. Genuinely so cool that you are still uploading even if it's not anything massive. I guess you technically inspired me to take one of my first semesters in college on video production which is kind of cool. Wish you nothing but the best in the future
Hey welcome back! That's awesome you took a video production class. What did you like about it?
@@ChristopherCoxFilm haha this is so surreal seeing you reply. I had a blast shooting our final projects for my main production class, we had to make a commercial style short film. Moving to editing on after effects was pretty interesting too. You were a huge inspiration to me growing up when it came to making short films or videos with friends or on my own, so I had been using filmora and capcut and things like that. But yeah it was a really interesting class, I am still trying to figure out what I really want to do for my main major but getting to film with big blackmagic cameras and setting up lighting was a super cool experience that I might just come back to, who knows
@@BennySmith4366 That's great you had a fun time and the class was enjoyable! Film is often a mix of fun and challenging.
@@ChristopherCoxFilm Yeah it was super interesting since I had only had a surface level understanding of the whole thing prior. Really cool to do it with professional equipment and gear
I wanted to like this but that was horrible acting, they acted like that was totally normal and nothing to worry about whatsoever 😂
Love how dad knew EXACTLY what was going on, but never mentioned the possibility of it occurring to his family 😭😭
Chris, I have watched you since 2013, I was 10 years old and I came by ur channel thanks to ur left 4 dead 2 funny moments, through that, Deep sheep season 1 was abt to start and that was a nostalgia trip when I watch back season 1 of deep sheep. Through you, I knew abt roosterteeth thanks to you and camden talking about the channel back in his channel which it is deleted now.

You shouldn’t have gotten rid of the poster just cause of one guy especially if you’re as big of a fan as you seem unless you have some thing else all the AH guys signed besides Ryan but that was an awesome piece of memorabilia. Also I never heard it was underage fans I heard he was messaging fans and sleeping with them at conventions still unjustified cause he has a family but still way different than being a pedo. Idk tho the cases are pretty sparse on details from what I remember reading when this all broke I haven’t checked since the news broke basically.
From what I researched, it was grooming. I was a big fan for many years and during those years, that poster meant a lot to me. It’s in the background of several old update videos on my channel. I loved it. However it changed for me. The poster was in my closet for years before I found it. I forgot I even had it. It no longer meant what it did and I didn’t wish to own it anymore. Throwing it away gave me peace of mind.
So what exactly is the mother's role in all this?
It was their mother all along
funny they kicked Vic and they had people in their shadows far worse than anything he was alleged to have done.
I just gotta tell ya that you really should try listening F**kFace, though now it's been rebranded to The Regulation Podcast. The podcast feels like classic AH. In fact I think it's better than old AH. RT was on a downward spiral from 2018 and on however i genuinely believe in 2021 they started rebounding. The podcast they were turning out were incredible. Geoff hasn't been "broken" like you said, recently he's been having the most fun of his life with the podcast. You say the new content couldn't compete but let's be honest, you weren't watching the newest content. You make claims as if you were watching all of this content but you definitely weren't. Like I said I emplore you to check out F**kFace/Regulation Podcast, I hear Facejam is another great podcast. I had the same mindset as you did but I gave some of the new content a try and It changed my opinion completely.
You’re right I definitely didn’t give any of the new content a chance. Part of it is my sour feelings towards RT as a company and not wanting to support it anymore. Another part is my tastes have changed over the years and even some of their past content doesn’t appeal to me anymore. I might give things like RvB Restoration a try. But I have a long list of other films, shows, games, music, and other media I’d prefer to check out first.
@@ChristopherCoxFilm Haha I advise to not give RvB restoration a try haha. I love RvB, I think Restoration was decent however season 10 or 13 is a much better ending to leave it on.
@@JediBob ooof ok haha. Ya I’m good with s10 :)
кокс ахаххахахахаахах
Damn...admittedly I missed out on a *lot* of this big controversy with RT that you mentioned. Had a pretty similar attitude towards them as you and many others did-really liked them at first but eventually grew tired of the endless content and ended up dropping them. And since I wasn't following them or anyone tied to them, a lot of things went by without me even really noticing. I think the only real bit of controversy that came to me was-and I'll admit, my memory is *really* hazy on this one-a bit about a former member mentioning something about transphobic comments alongside the poor working conditions. But, this wasn't the sole focus of her statement and Gavin-and I think Michael, too-also commented on it. And from what they'd said, whatever comments had been made were never done with malicious intent, and they ended up apologized for it anyway so it really wasn't controversy that was worth holding on to. The fact that two members ended up being fired for pretty messed up reasons, including one being a potential child predator, is...yeah, I really have no words for that. And I'm kinda glad I stopped caring a long time ago or this news would've been more devastating to me. Hell, Michael looks so distraught in that brief clip you shared that I actually feel bad for him and everyone else involved. Still, it's nice to see you come to terms with their influence on you and be able to take the good from the bad. It's sad that they went the way they ended up doing, but at least they left an impact on quite a lot of us in the end.
Exactly. In the end you can't control how your influences change. To bury the good from the past because of the bad present is letting the bad win.
I looked away
