Love this style! If anything I wouldn’t mind spoiler at all so that you can dive into specific scenes when talking about certain categories
I watched this film for the first time with my cousins during halloween last year, and holy shit, I cannot get certain parts of this film out of my mind. When it comes to horror films, this one is at/near the top of my list.
They did all of the horror elements very effectively.
Dude I’d love to see more of these. So much fun. I’d almost like to see him go more in depth like into the plot but I love this so much

At the time I brought my mother to watch Hereditary thinking it would be another popcorn horror movie... I can really say it wasn't a fun time 😂 Hereditary is one of my favorite films though...

I know I am a little late but I watched this movie with my parents around a week ago and I couldn't finish it. Idk if scary is the word I would use but it is disturbing, VERY DISTURBING. This movie f***s with your mind. I still dont know which movie was worse in the scary sense, this or the Excorcist.
Most disturbing/horrifying movie I've ever seen. To me it perfected what makes the ultimate horror. Building and maintaining a sense of dread and terror throughout the duration of the film without relying on jumpscares. Jumpscares usually only break the tension. Hereditary didnt really have them. It was physiological and played with your mind In a really twisted way. Kind of like what the movie Sinister would have been without the cheap scares

This movie bored me to hell
I agree but I wouldn't exactly say it was boring but it definitely isn't "scary," that's not the right word, I could take 'unsettling' or something. People over hyped the shit out of this because, I don't know they never had a horrifying nightmare or something before? It's a kind of interesting enough movie that progresses along so I wasn't totally bored but this definitely isn't a horror movie, or at least not at all in any typical sense if you expected one. I truly did dislike the movie but I can't hate it for being well made that I'm sure it would be one of those that's better on a second watch with lots of things tying in nicely, but so many things about this being a 5/5 "terrifying movie, scariest of all time" soured the entire thing when I got around to watching it.
Hot take: Hereditary is one of the worstovies I have ever seen, im all for differing opinions, but to call this your favorite horrorovie makes me think you probably haven't seen that any movies at all.
