I generally use wax on black steel because I can put it on the steel whilst it’s slightly damp. If I let it fully dry rust forms so I’ve never used a spray. I would love to be able to seal the finish in as I find waxed finished can tend to rust after awhile or go slightly orange. Can your spray be applied on damp steel? I make large pieces of furniture so it’s difficult to dry and then immediately coat. Thanks

Around 2015 I made a picture frame using oak 2x4s and after this treatement it looked like it weighed 400 pounds. It was a 30x36 large frame and during the photography contest I saw people with their fingers stuck out just wanting to touch the frame but knowing it was poor etiquette to do so. I thought the frame was a great compliment to my 1901 water tower photo with a lightning strike behind it. I easily won that contest thanks to this video demonstrating the technique. Of course I used the Sculpt Nouveau product to complete it. I tried the silver paint but ended up removing it because it looked fake to me. I had good luck waiting for a rainy day and doing the rust activator in the garage with the door open. Very humid and took forever to dry. So pretty much 100% rust on the frame.

Does metal coating make the bones any stronger? Like more drop/impact proof?

Unfortunately no it would not add that kind of strength.

No but if you want to blacken stainless steel take a look at our Stainless Black video. So it is possible, but this is not the video to show you how to blacken stainless steel.

    Can you layer these patinas?

Yes but you need to go slow. Typically I will wait a minimum of 24 hours between layers of green and blue patinas. Too much patina and it can start to delaminate.
