Can you get a masters or mba using this?
18:00 could you do a video over this?
They need to learn to stop scamming
I like this format compared to not showing what you two are talking about. It’s great for visual learners.
Umpi or SNHU what do you suggest for BSCS for online international students?
I love these life-changing stories so much. Congrats, Damien! Well done!
I wanna do masters in Accounting. Could you suggest me which university should I go for? Which would be worth it and I can land a job?
Do you have any comments about Coursera?
It’s great, and some of their certs transfer into some schools as credit hours 👍🏼
What an amazing story. My experience parallel with his because my children who have completed master’s degrees have inspired me to complete my undergraduate degree. I have appointment with CH this month to relaunch my college journey.
We can’t wait to help you get set up! 🤩
A lot of these have touchstones now. US History has one. US History 2 has one as well. Art history 1 has touchstones too.
Indeed! This video is over a year old, Sophia adds touchstones every month.
I hate touchstones
what are the reasons between choosing a thesis or non-thesis masters program?
What you intend to use the degree for
Doing it for myself, then going to get my BA. Have a pretty good paying position beforehand.
You got this! 🥳
Strayer is expensive and for about 10 of my classes I didn’t know of any scholarships until I was readmitted back into the school and let the enrollment specialist know where I worked and provided paystubs. Other than the expensive price tag I chose Strayer because they took most of my credits and used them as electives. I actually learn and retain the information. By far one of the best schools I’ve attended. I graduate next month and I’m so excited and thankful for the opportunity for Sophia learning which I had no idea 🤷🏽♀️ about until I started at Strayer. #1892 you better ask somebody !!
Today. The courses cost $79. Id still say its worth it
I am currently enrolled at WGU and have been on and off with them for some time now. I am at the point of considering withdrawing and never returning, and instead looking for other options. The "instructors" are definitely hands-off, or rather, stand-offish would be a better term. As a business professional in technology for over 20 years, the degree for me is just a piece of paper, something for an HR department to get excited about. Their competency process is not what it claims to be. I didn't pass a proctored test, but subsequently passed the pre-assessment twice. Despite this, the instructor would not allow me to take the assessment again, even though I scored high on the pre-assessment. The response I received was to read and complete 90% of the activities in the book (even the content I already knew), and then she would open up the assessment for me again. I went to Sophia, had an amazing experience, and actually learned. However, WGU refused to accept those credits even though Sophia is listed as a partner on their website. I might schedule a consultation with you because WGU is lackluster and what they say and brag about is not what they do in practice.
This was a great interview and pointers!
So we're paying for degrees now? Is that how worthless they have become
If that’s what you gathered from this video then I’m afraid you’ve missed the point.
@@CollegeHacked I see the point of the video I agree with everything you have to say it just feels useless to get a degree now and it sucks that some jobs require it when people are more than capable of doing those jobs without degrees It's BS that society wants you to have degrees im going to college and literally it's all common sense I don't even feel like continuing I feel like I'm getting dumber lol
@@albertoguadiana1008What you just said is exactly how we felt before College Hacked was born, and we agree with you that there should be a better way, and that’s why we do what we do. And as it turns out, there has been a better way for many years but most people don’t know about it. Our department of education has sanctioned an alternative way to complete college for much less, and a bunch of schools even specifically support it and allow for it! And yet… people question it or don’t know about it and so things largely stay the same. I don’t know what school you’re at or what your goals are, but chances are good at least some of what we’re talking about here can be applied to your degree. The trick is just to find out what you truly need to spend time on, and what you can get through faster that won’t hurt you later.
While keeping a straight face can you tell me that a college degree has value if you're able to finish it in a short time while not being able to finish at other colleges? Issue with these specific feel good stories is others will follow it which is the purpose of this video it'll become an obvious trend like going to ITT Tech and these people being unable to find a job while end up sueing these colleges.
The education landscape is changing. Just like we all do as time goes on. Would you rather people take on quite a bit of student debt, as opposed to do the 3rd party workaround (money saver btw) to achieve the same concepts in their education? A lot of what we do in our careers is learned on the job anyway.
@@RyuRonin1 The question is will employers actually take these degree's seriously? Are they any better than a udemy certificate at the end of the day?
Actually, those who hack college have better longterm outcomes. It’s more difficult to hack than to attend school normally and just be told what to do. If you think the length of a degree indicates its value, you don’t understand competency based education. If you take some time to look into it, you might feel differently.

Any online schools for Construction Management? Anyone? All the schools you named don't offer this degree.
Purdue University Global has Business Administration with a concentration in construction management. Or Thomas Edison State University has a Bachelor of Science degree with an area of study in construction management.
@@CollegeHacked what’s your input on National American University (NAU)? Looking forward to hear your feedback.
So the final test you could call it. Is just an essay your write in your time and just have to make a passing rate to pass the class. No final test?
Correct 😄
my freshman year was calculus 1, II, III, uni level chem, technical writing and in the summer i’m taking uni level physics I & II. i work ft. bro all this shit got me on suicide watch. it’s not something to skip over.
All depends on your major, friend. There are much less stressful ways to complete college without skipping the things you need to be successful.
What a load of shit. Usually freshman year has degree requirements that must be taken at that school. But if you overload your schedule you can skip senior year. Not freshman.
*Overload. Also, you are not correct.

What are the 3 upper credit level courses that umpi will take from Sophia
I couldve applied to other schools and not particularly busy, am I a fool for picking SNHU for an online degree over other schools?
No, SNHU is a good option :) Whether there are better options for you depends on your situation and goals. We offer consultations at collegehacked.com for that.
Do you know any university or colleges that will accept N.A credits? I got an Associates in Applied Sciences in Management but I want to transfer into a Bachelors of Applied Science in Management (to continue on) but it is a N.A accredited institute that I attended. It feels like I made a mistake in my education path which would mean wasted time & income. Please help!
Try Liberty University, Edgewood College, and South College! You’ll probably need to apply and send official transcripts for them to do a transfer credit evaluation to see for sure what might transfer, if anything. Good luck! 🤞🏼

Gabe was a nuclear engineer for the US Navy Then was recruited by Microsoft So can You!
Thank you for the information. I'm considering PG for a Masters in Psychology/Addiction Counseling. Do you have any information with regards to that program in particular?
I feel that open book like Sophia has can actually be a far better method of actually learning. Personally, if I have to look up something because I do not know the answer that really really sticks with me permanently, but if I am doing a typical test and don't really know the answer, guess, and get it wrong then I rarely if ever actually learn the correct answer to that question. I think a good compromise would be for Sophia to increase the passing grade to 85% or something which would make folks be sure of their answers and look up ones they are not really sure of without being all "well I know I am at least going to get a passing 70% so I don't care if I bomb these few questions I have no idea about."
We can DEFINITELY get behind that vision for Sophia. Great insight!
Avoid devry at all cost! It is a scam, I'm 75000 in debt and no degree! Mind you, I was supposed to graduate with my bachelors in less than a year.

Congrats!! 🥳🥳
I am truly hoping you can help me. I was attending Eastern Gateway Community College. I am about 5 classes away from getting my associates in IT. EGCC has "Paused" enrollment for the foreseeable future. I have reached out to a bunch of colleges and the majority that I have spoken to say they will only accept a small amount of credits I have earned towards their IT Degree. I currently have 41 Credits, the majority of which are IT-focused. One college told me they would give me around 16 credits towards an associate degree, but if I go for the bachelor's, they will give me 58 credits. Apparently, the IT classes I was taking at EGCC were bachelor-level courses. I have been told by schools that the class numbers don’t match up to their associate-level courses but do match up for bachelor's degrees. I don't want to start all over again. I would rather not skip getting this degree. I have worked insanely hard, 30 - 40 assignments a week plus at least 2 exams on the weekends for each class, kept a 4.0 the entire time, and made the dean's list. With all of that I am still having all this trouble finding a school to transfer to that will accept the majority of my credits. It has been incredibly discouraging and heartbreaking. If you can think of anything that could help me in this type of situation, I would seriously greatly appreciate it. Thank you for making these videos.
It's really encouraging to me to hear just how many people actually drop out of college every year. I dropped out toward the beginning of my fourth semester of my undergraduate, after I changed my major once and then had all of my friends move off campus, leaving me to go through my third semester practically alone, which made my depression and anxiety hit the hardest that it ever had. I would have been kicked out at the end of that 4th semester for failing my classes if I hadn't left in the middle, and I was able to move to a place where I was able to go to therapy, get back on my feet, and start working jobs that I was qualified for from being in the food service industry for several years already. But I got really tired of food service. And I chose the wrong year to try to switch from that to teaching piano lessons, because in 2020, the place that was going to hire me closed down. And now, 4 years later, I haven't had a full-time job since January 2020, and now that my husband and I want to start a family, we know that barely making it from emergency to emergency, never being able to build up our savings because of the unexpected costs of owning a condo, I will have to go back to work for us to be able to afford to raise kids... It's a pretty miserable thought, since I had always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and probably homeschool my kids, too. Both of us were home schooled so we have a positive opinion of it. At this point, I've gotten off of all of the meds that I got on when I dropped out and they said I needed stuff for my anxiety and depression, and I've finally gotten a real diagnosis that explains everything, and a lot of things are starting to make more sense. But it feels like it's taken way too long. We really can't afford for me to go back, and even transferring my credits and taking a couple courses at an online school in order to graduate with an associates would be too much for us to afford without taking out loans right now. And loans really suck.
I am reentering the workplace after an extended break (i.e. life, kids, traveling spouse). I have been out so long, I feel irrelevant and unemployable. BS already done so looking at a graduate degree.
Do a LOT of research first to pinpoint what grad degree will help you get where you want to go. Not every degree will be competitive in every industry, so stalk some people on LinkedIn who have the job you want and check out what education/experiences/certifications they have. Maybe even reach out to a few to do informational interviews. A grad degree won’t hurt, but it won’t always help as much as it costs, so it’s important to crunch those numbers.

Hey Can you do an LSU online review next? Thank you.
They aren’t hackable beyond CLEPs, we focus on more hackable schools 😊
How do I make sure I retain information I’m learning while flying through courses. And are general courses even worth retaining if you’re just gonna focus on other things? I personally have not been to any sort of schooling for 8 years so I’m afraid to take a step and getting overwhelmed with schoolwork and not learning anything at all since I don’t think I remember much of what I learned in High School.
Flying through and retaining are two different goals. You need to get clear on what your PERSONAL goal is-whether to complete the degree as fast as possible and learn very little, or slow down so that you’re still going much faster than traditional college but giving yourself a chance to learn and retain. Everyone has a different brain and different skills and abilities, so your job is to find the sweet spot in your journey. Start with Sophia so that it’s low cost and low pressure, work through your nerves and fears there, then you’ll be ready to attend the school you’re planning to graduate from.
