I’m currently at UMPI thanks to watching your CZcams videos.
Right now I’m on BUS 469 and I’m watching you again 😊
Awesome full circle!
THANK YOU ❤🎉
That is so awesome! 😁😁 Thanks for sharing this, it gave me a little thrill 😎
Regarding the technology degrees, don't forget about Data Science. Tech fields are moving towards specialization and it is important to remember that not every degree prepares a person for every role in technology. As an example, coursework for Python programming and data sources does not necessarily prepare someone for IT support, management, networking, cybersecurity, etc.
Great point!
As usual, great content. As someone who hacked a business degree, I find it to be very flexible. While it is general, it's a great starting point for a career in accounting, finance, etc.
Which school did you choose
Thank you for this video, it helps a lot
Ouch the Dallas Cowboys comment hurt 😂😂
😂
6:30: As a heads up, Medical Illustration IS an actual- albeit rarely offered- major; back in 2004, there were exactly five colleges in the US that offered this, no idea what the numbers are today. Unrelated graphic novelist Phoebe Gloeckner actually took this as a major. Still, great video. Thanks for uploading! :)
Amazing trivia 🤩☺️
This College Hacked youtube feature of 7 Best Online College Degrees have some illuminating details. Additionally, I confess that one of the online degrees referenced relates to a personal goal that I intend to strengthen for professional and monetary reasons by autumn 2025 andor sooner. I also enjoyed the persuasive feature from the youtube author referenced on what pursuing a college major communicates professionally about personal goals.
So glad we could add value to the discussion 😎
Hi, i just have a question and if you can give me advice on it. I work for pepsico and my tuition is fully covered, and im going to try to go for a bachelor's in businesses operational management at SNHU. I was wondering if this is a good program to go too? Also if theres anyway to quote in quote "hack" my general ed if possible with Sophia? Thanks again for the great content, you guys have been very insightful on this subject!
-Pepsi man
Yes, SNHU is a good school and that’s a great major. :) It is indeed possible to hack the degree, you can google SNHU Sophia.org and SNHUs partner page will come up where you can check which classes to take to hack the degree!
Great video! Im a Dallas Cowboys fan and going for a business Degree so that hit me twice lol
I did have a quick question if you don’t mind. Would you consider a BA in finance and data analytics a finance degree or a business degree?
😂 Nice. And it depends on the course breakdown (usually schools favor one topic much more highly than the other in a split degree like that. But I think most people would assume it was more finance than business. As long as it gets you into the job/grad program you want, I suppose it doesn’t matter too much :)
Great video, I’m actually doing health administration online
What school?
its not a good degree if you don't actually have healthcare experience.
Mr. Stumme, thank you for pointing out the best universities for computer science degrees. However, this may be an intriguing question for you. Is computer science better than software engineering, in your opinion, or is it the other way around?
It all depends on what you want to end up doing! Software Engineering is more coding based, where Computer Science is a lot broader and covers all aspects of modern computers. We tend to favor the more actionable majors, so we’d pick Software Engineering. But it all depends on the goals of the individual pursuing the degree 😎
I have a video that I would love to see.
I stumbled on your channel because my boss is someone who went to WGU and cranked out a bachelors and two masters degrees in under a year. I graduated Columbia University with a degree in Ancient History, and work in IT Consulting. So I am confident of two things. 1: Your specific undergraduate major is irrelevant to most careers and graduate schools as long as you have the prerequisite certifications. 2: The college you attend is irrelevant to all but the most selective companies as long as it is from a regionally accredited and not-for-profit school.
So, the video I would love to see is what is the absolutely fastest, easiest, and cheapest path someone could take to earn a bachelors at ANY regionally accredited not-for-profit school, with ANY major? What is best path for the average joe that just wants to check the "has bachelors degree" box on an application? What school, major, etc., and why.
At the moment, the answer is the UMPI Liberal Studies Management degree from their YourPace program :) They are really generous with their transfer credit policies, accept all the major hacking platforms, and are competency based (the classes last as long as it takes you to complete them so you can go fast).
PS: the two things you are very confident of are very, very correct :)
What are the best online schools for Healthcare Management?
@@CollegeHacked
do you have to have your hs diploma to start with Sophia learning. I'm going for my ged test in a month but wanted to see if I can expedite my academic journey by starting the courses to transfer to wgu
You do not! Just need to be 13 years old or older :)
Thanks to you I’ve officially learned about a chipotle degree lol. My initial plan was to do a BSBA, minor in Marketing, and get my CAPM then PMP certifications for project management. Do you think Chipotle would be better for me?
Depends on your goals! If you have a bunch of transfer credit, chipotle will definitely be faster and easier. If you have less than 30 credits so far, you could do a BSBA without it taking more classes at the school. If you are good at marketing yourself, chipotle works great. If you want the degree to do a lot of the talking for you, don’t go chipotle.
A business degree takes 10 minutes longer and is more targeted in your case. UMPI has a very hackable marketing degree. A buddy of mine finished at UMPI in just under 8 weeks after transferring a bunch of credit. Consider making an account on degreeforum (which can get toxic but overall folks are helpful) because they have a spreadsheet laid out already. I would say, why not do a bunch of free classes with saylor? Their tests and course content don't always match, but it hard to say no to free college credit.
This is really helpful information, thank you! I have a question: Are there disadvantages to getting a Competency Based Bachelor's degree if you plan to go on to grad school? Do most CBE degrees show a GPA upon graduation? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Most CBE programs have a normal GPA system, yes. WGU is the main exception, but there are others. We have not seen disadvantages to CBE bachelors degrees as a stepping stone to grad programs. As long as the degree is regionally accredited there shouldn’t be any problem with it!
@@CollegeHacked Thank you for your prompt reply- so helpful!
Here’s you a good question that I’ve never heard you speak of.. Can LinkedIn Learning courses count as credits? To be specific I applied to UMPI for May. I’m currently working on Sophia courses but my job pays for LinkedIn learning. There’s tons of courses on there. 🤔
Yes and no! They do transfer to about 6 schools so far, but none are hackable/accredited properly. Third party credits accepted by regionally accredited colleges are accredited by ACE, something LinkedIn learning courses don’t have as of yet.
Thinking about starting Sophia to get credit for Liberal Studies at UMPI. Is it worth it to start Sophia (months) early? I have to wait because I won't be 20 for several months. I've thought about Liberty, but I've gotten the impression UMPI is cheaper and faster.
UMPI is about a third the price of Liberty :) It’s worth hacking in advance for sure. Most of our clients end up planning to hack for 6 months, then 6 months at UMPI itself, and then graduate in 1 year :)
Certain Sophia courses can be completed in a weekend. Doing as much research is best to find out which transfer and are required for ge and the major/minor you are going for. Check degree forum
Being ignorant, I always believed a general studies degree to be useless. Looking back at it all now, the Cliff Clavin degree supplies you with the tool of adaptability through broad spectrum education.
Because, out in the job market, it’s a bit uncommon to find people working within their original field of study.
Well said! 😄
Do you coach nurses going back to school? Many nurses are trying to leave.
Most definitely! There are a number of careers that make sense with that background, too :)
A friend works in logistics but has no degree and is stuck. I told her about degrees offered but she really doesn't need the business stuff she said. Could a liberal arts studies degree be given a supply chain or logistics concentration? She does the work for people who have degrees so it's not a need to learn the job. More a need for the degree to open the door. Her friend in hr told her a degree will help.
You nailed it! Sounds like a job for a Liberal Studies Management or Project Management degree from UMPI :) They have a YourPace supply chain degree, which means she can pick those classes as her required 10 classes at the institution and then she can pack the rest of her degree with any former college credit or Sophia courses :) Usually about 1 year and $6k. You’re an awesome friend!
Hi, is the 30% link still good? Thanks!!
The link for Study.com in the description of each of our videos? Yes 😄
Aloha, You indicate in the videos that you have a consulting group that advises on hacking options and strategies. How do we set up a session and what does it cost? - JRB.
Visit collegehacked.com to schedule 😄 Currently, the 2-session package is $399. If you already know which school and major you’re shooting for and just need the course map, a single session is currently $245.
Great video. I always enjoy watching your videos. I’ve been doing the teaching field for years now. I wanted to do my masters degree in early childhood education. Therefore, I want to do my masters degree in a major either in clinical mental health counseling, family and marriage therapy, or child psychology.
I would like more information on how to get a business degree and earn my H.S diploma my cousin wants to know how and what and where .Thank you
Sounds like you would benefit from a consultation with our team! collegehacked.com :)
Looking at online DBA degree… and suggestions?
Liberty University :) Great business department.
You are amazing, I will call you next week to schedule a consultation.
Can’t wait! 😃
Are these universities accept students from all over the world?
Many of them, yes!
First comment lesss gooooo 😎
Yo
Any tips for hacking a music degree?
Definitely! The music classes themselves can’t be hacked of course, but the free electives and general education can be at the right schools :) You could also do a build your own major and include the amount of music classes you want, and fill the rest of the degree with business or psychology or something easy to hack.
@@CollegeHacked thanks for sharing that. Which schools do you think would be best to look into for that?
Do you have any comments about Coursera?
It’s great, and some of their certs transfer into some schools as credit hours 👍🏼
How to hack as an international student? With out IELTS score. A bachelor's or master's degree is fine, but I'd like to get a master's degree if possible.
In the US a regionally accredited bachelors degree is generally required to start a masters degree. Do you have a bachelors degree or equivalent completed already? :)
@@CollegeHacked I have a bachelors and two masters degree already.Thank you for asking.
@@sukasuka601Wonderful! Then your next step would be getting your international transcripts evaluated by WES (World Education Services) so you can apply to graduate programs :)
@@CollegeHacked i appreciate your help. thank you
As a 15 years, first high-school student in Algeria, could I study at MIT after taking A college Algebra in modern states
Yes :)
@@CollegeHacked But MIT doesn't accept CLEP exams
@@OussamaDrir-mw1khAre you asking if you can gain admission even though you’ve taken a CLEP exam? If so, yes. :)
@@CollegeHacked But according to mit admission, they don' t accept CLEP exams.. They require SAT or ACT.. Could you please tell us as subscribers how to get admission to ivy leagues (mit, harvard...), how to write the best college application essays
@@OussamaDrir-mw1khA CLEP is a different category of exam than the ACT and SAT. Those two are admissions exams, a CLEP is a college course in exam form. Your questions are things we cover in our consultations, if you’d like to purchase one :) collegehacked.com
Can you please provide me study/sophia promo codes?
We don’t have one for Sophia, our Study link is in the video description! 😄
