Habit Energies
zhlédnutí 71Před 3 měsíci
The cultivation of meditation is to understand and reduce our habit energies, which prevents asava (inflow / outflow of the mind). The less habit energies and asava,, the less the mind gets stirred. Contemplation and reflections are not meditation. They are, in fact, mental distractions caused by habit energies.

May I know what is the name of the background chanting please? Thanks
Hi ajahn, are you in Malaysia or Singapore ? Since you're a former monk, I think you might be the best person to answer this. What's the relationship between Thai rishi practice and the Thai Buddhist practices of maha nikaya (Thai city) and dhammayut (Thai forest tradition) ?

Hola, ¿has estudiado la tradición dzogchen?, acabo de pasar por tu canal y por lo que veo, tienes harto conocimiento, mis respetos, espero estés bien, aqui un amigo desde chile escuchando.
Hola. Nope I’ve never studied dzogchen. However, if we go deep into any of the Buddhist traditions, they will arrive at the same levels of insight and practice. Thanks for watching this amigo.

how much?
Hi Gwendoline. Thanks for your interest. However they’re completely sold out already.
hi dhammakamo, i would like to use some of this chanting in the background of a buddhist film of my channel mdesignffm. this is a non-commercial project. of course i would mention you in the credits. this would really help me. is this okay? thank you so much!
Hi, this doesn’t belong to me so feel free to use it :)
@@dhammakamo ok, thank you!
Thank you Venerable.
@Cyn thank you and I’m glad you found this beneficial. I appreciate your acknowledgement but I’m not a monk so you can just call me DK :)
Good day DK (or Ajarn DK, which one would you prefer 👋🏻🤲🏻). Would you mind sharing a short katha that can be used universally & generally when we pray or meditate towards any Ruesi figurine? I came across "Ohm Lek Lur Lek Lur, Namapakawa, Itihli Cakpatanang, Mahalapang, Ahang Wantami, Namo Puttaya." Is this correct? I've recently got into learning more about the Ruesi tradition & school of thought - please don't mind me I'm an absolute beginner. Many thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge on your journey.
Hi Alwin, the Gathas I use are mostly in Sanskrit or deva language. For the Thai type of Katha, you can use: Om surawepoya ruesi poya namaha x 9 Followed by: Om Imasaming Pra bprakone tap pra muni thewa hidtaa dtumhe bparipunchandtu Dutiyam pi Om Imasaming Pra bprakone tap pra muni thewa hidtaa dtumhe bparipunchandtu Tatiyam pi Om Imasaming Pra bprakone tap pra muni thewa hidtaa dtumhe bparipunchandtu
I'm trying to learn the occult ways of the rishi can you teach me. Are there any literature you can point me to
There is no universally concise manual and most of the literature are scatted everywhere. Every lineage master will have their set of precepts, practices and texts. This is the exact reason I made this video.

Where is blessing done in Singapore?
It can be something to do with the individual mind,,, if the person had this kind of culture/upbringing, he will behave in this way,,,, not necessarily the person is pretending,,, it it his mind that makes him act out in this way.
Cool
Very interesting thank you 🙏
wonderful presentation
when you start this again thanks?

It took lots of efforts and practice to attain first jhana but the jhana state will not last long. May I seek answers to these 3 questions: . (1) What is the technique to re-enter jhana state repeatedly in the next meditation sessions? (2) what should a yogi do to maintain or lengthen the state of jhana in order the contemplate dukkha anicca and Anita? (3) at what stage or what are the signs that a yogi is ready to proceed to the second jhana? And if so, what practice method a yogi should observe to drop the first factor of jhana ( vitaka) and go direct to the second factor of jhana (vicara )? 🙏🙏🙏

Impressive short and concise talk on Samatha and vippasana. You are well verse in the subjects you shared. It’s more helpful for those who have some basic knowledge about meditation . Perhaps, in the next sharing, you could share elaborate and relate Samatha with the 40 subjects of meditation as taught in Visuddhimagga. Happy with the contents you shared.

I have been saved from a fatal accident many times through the grace and protection of Phra Lersi Phor Gae Taafai and Phra Lersi Pujao Sermingprai. But I am interested to know if these Phra Lersis connect to one base on faith or some other connections?
May I know what would be good for beginners to start with when venerating or worshiping the Rishis? Would be going vegetarian good as well as fasting , including prayers daily? I am attracted to Rishis such as Lersi Taafai , Lersi Pujao Sermingprai as well as Lersi Narod and Petchalugan. Have been praying to Phra Phor Phuu Lersi Taafai , Phor Gae and Pujao Sermingprai and I can sense their presence and energies. Lately been feeling Phra Lersi Pujao Sermingprai and Phra Lersi Taafai very strongly.
1. The recitation of their kathas 2. Meditation on the breath (I won’t recommend and kasina or visualisation unless you received specific instructions from a master) Vegetarianism and fasting is a personal choice and isn’t part of the prerequisites or aspirations for following the Lersi path. That being said, going vegetarian and fasting are very good for the physical health, which in terms allow the body and mind to feel lighter which will enhance one’s spiritual cultivation. Regarding fasting, it’s best to not overdo it. You can research online on how to have a fasting regimen (pre-fast, fasting period, break fast period).
have you explored Rishi traditions from its motherland India? what's the common features and differences there?
Hi Showa, there's always cross-culture references. What's most important is one's penetration into the nature of reality, and the development of compassion in order to help others.
@@dhammakamo It's very very fortunate that you have Buddhist monk training as your strong foundation. I have seen Thai Rishis honest interview on youtube sharing that they had been engaging in occult killing of another human being just for the sake of their livelihood (with announced price tag and guaranteed death within a period of time), using needles using bees + pottery scraps etc. Never had I came across a Rishi showcasted on youtube that stress the root intention of "penetration into the nature of reality, and the development of compassion in order" By all means please share more in youtube about your work :)
showa showa thanks. I do have some videos of my teachings and guided meditation in my channel. Do watch them. I’ll be releasing more of such videos in the near future as it’s more beneficial for the masses
@@dhammakamo Thanks for sharing on your meditation videos. It will also be interesting if you could shed more insights on the Rishi path in your tradition which I believe that it is more esoteric and not known much to the general audience.
@@dhammakamo Vidoes such as "Myth or Facts about Rishi" , "Common misconception about Rishi" , "Top 10 FAQ about Rishi" would be interesting in my opinion.
Rishis seem ot have some common features with Paccekabuddhas in terms of livelihood
can you share about Myanmar Weizzar (wizard) tradition, if you have knowledge about it?
I don't think it exists anymore in Burma. Only Buddhism and astrology.
there are other chinese ethnic Rishis practitioners showcasted in youtube.
