Wolfenstein 3D - Total Conversion

This is some gameplay from the often overlooked "Total Conversion" mod of Wolfenstein 3D (so called as it's a total conversion of DOOM), which runs on the on the GZDoom engine. The King's Demons with New VFX (Classic Doctor Who)

With the recent release of the Season 20 Collection Blu-ray box set every story in that season has received updated VFX, with the exception of The King's Demons. Well, I couldn't have that :-) I based Kamelion's transformation effect on the one used in Planet of Fire, or more specifically, the Special Edition of that story that enhances the original effect.

After revisiting this I realised I'd been very unfair to Mr McCulloch and Mr Glynn's themes, so I've brought them both higher in the mix. This is a mix between the original 12" mix and the "Minimal" mix of KLF's 'Doctorin' the Tardis' using the classic arrangement of the original theme, along with a new middle-eight section that didn't appear in the KLF versions (plus, a tiny smidge of Delia's version too!). Just what CZcams needs - another Doctor Who theme remix!! This is a re-arrangement of Orbital's brilliant "Doctor?" which follows the same structure as the classic themes rather than just the, "melody 1, melody 2, bridge, repeat" of their original version. It also mixes in elements from the Delia Derbyshire mix. The visuals are done almost entirely in the excellent, and free, vizzy.io

I'm going to guess you were using the DVD sources for the pre-blu ray stuff? If so, those are also technically inaccurate. You'd need to find off-air broadcast sources for more definitive proof.
@@404TVfr oh good point, that's interesting, were the titles recreated for the DVDs? I didn't know that. I checked a few sources, DVD, iPlayer (which I assume is the same as DVD as they're certainly not HD) and the screenshots taken on the wiki page (which I think are a mix of VHS and DVD). Know anyone with off-air recordings? I lost mine years ago :-)
@@cunningmunki iPlayer uses the same source as the DVD prints (the blu-ray sources are exclusive to that release only), and TARDIS Wiki is a very questionable source for answers. As for off-air recordings, I sadly cannot tell where to look. I used to have a few, but lost those in a hard drive crash.
For what it’s worth Monsieur Munki, I still much prefer your effects to the new Tales Of The Tardis ones (especially your deflection shield), from reactions I’ve seen, everyone spots the modern CGI and knows it’s ‘the new bits’ and it pulls them right out of it. The one thing I did prefer was that they skipped the pyramid puzzles, they are a bit silly.
I think this is better than the updated effects than those used in Tales from the Tardis
All subtle changes but all excellent and blend veey very well with the original footage
Forgive me if no one was seeing this before, and if my saying this causes you to never Unsee it. The new VFX effects and the recent Episode of Disney Who, kinda makes it look like when Sutekh is coming through that tunnel that his red sleaves look like evil eyes when coming through and phasing out.
I love how the effects are basically "What could they do at the time with a bit more budget?" it keeps things from looking too out of place, while still looking clean and improved.
I prefer the old effects…especially the time tunnel (corridor) in the sarcophagus.
A new body and a new set of teeth "at laaashht!", which is nice. 😁

Did you work on the new Tales of the TARDIS? Because besides the time vortex being the modern look it all looks the same.

Thank you! Great question, as I'm about to tackle my first two-parter in S12 with 'The Sontaran Experiment'. I think they're generally quite lean anyway so I'll probably leave them mostly as-is, maybe just tighten up some of the cuts here and there where appropriate. Same goes for three-parters really, unless I think the pace needs to be improved or some scenes work in a different order

oh god no, I can't get six parters down to an hour! But yes, cutting them to two 50 min episodes cuts *a lot* of fat. The first three episodes are basically just the Dr and Jo going back & forth being accused of being spies. It only gets interesting when the Master shows up.

These are great! Deserve to be on the real thing.
Ideally, these CG updated effects should look feasible for the era the episodes were originally broadcast, which is something A LOT of past updates struggled with. You don’t seem to have that problem.

You are mistaken - this uses the 12" mix but I created it
25:00 - 25:18 Vastly better than the effect in The Special Edition, as that one doesn't work in principle. That is the Time Scoop shouldn't be able to enter The TARDIS, otherwise what was the reason for rushing back to it in the rest of the story, I often wondered if The 2nd Doc had landed in the Lab, Bessie was heading back to U.N.I.T. HQ, and in the Shada part, The Doc and Romana would punt back to the Professors rooms, plus the Police Box in the Blu Ray version doesn't match the prop in the adventure.
i think the ogrons and draconians should come back to doctor who in the new series 2024 or future series
