I told them that they could come along on a trip and get all of the sound and data they needed. This video will help those learning to fly the Citation X (in the sim or real world) by showing how the FMS and Flight Guida...

Hi John I fly the Tempest Flight started flying that Citation X (Frist X type) beginning of the year after flying falcon 900. and lear 60, but the crosswind landings on final on this video, wondering if you could talk through the final 200 feet of the landing on your CZcams what you doing with rudder? and aileron combination Thanks for your feedback. can you add voice to this CZcams as you're doing it. explaining it. Thanks again.
Thank you for the comment. I have been meaning to do a video that goes through exactly that. I just have not found the time to get around to it. I appreciate the motivation!
@@johnkluenker could you add voice to this video just curious
@jakebeile that’s a simple solution rather than making an entirely new video. I like the idea! I’ll try to work on that this week.
Hi John, GTSY! Very cool to catch A Once In a while " Plane Anomaly!" We saw that " Globe master " I think ??? a few Years Ago at the Stewart Airport N.Y. Thunder birds air show! Stewart A.P I believe was one of the Back up Airports for the Space Shuttle cause it's so Long !
Hi Frank, that was a C-5 Galaxy doing some pattern work at Stockton, our home airport. We do get some pretty cool military jets in there that practice touch-and-goes on occasion.
@@johnkluenker AH! Thanks for the Info! I have some pretty cool stories on Plane Sights!
Did you see the look of thrust jealousy on your poor Citation’s face?
Haha! I think my Citation X still has the thrust-to-weight advantage. Did you see the look of weight jealousy on the C-5’s face? 😆
@@johnkluenker whatever it has to tell itself 😉
@RetreadPhoto 😂
Wife and I have been members for 3 years....awesome place
That’s great! Fantastic atmosphere and wine. And to be able to land an airplane between the vineyards is a DEFINITE perk! 💕 🍷 🛩️
She’s a big girl
Is that Travis AFB? Looks like California in the background.
That airplane is most likely based at Travis but we get a lot of military traffic at our home airport of Stockton that show up and practice touch and goes.
@@johnkluenker Yeah, not Altus AFB or Dover AFB based on the terrain seen.
Thats a really nice ride...
The airport by my place is an old airforce base. They still do this with the military planes even during regular commercial flights. I can never get enough.
Love it! We get a lot of military traffic here that practice touch and goes at our home airport. We have a great spot on the airport to watch from.
What's the difference between the flash 2 and flash 3?
Best of both worlds!
Thank you!!
Thank you so much sir , really helpful video🙏❤️
You’re welcome! I’m so glad that you appreciated it.

VERY, nice Pirep, John. My wife Katie and I want to take our RV-8 to HR. Only 40 minutes South of our KLVK HB. We fly into Auburn all the time for breakfast! Nice work on the video!
Thank you!! Yes it is definitely a special place… with fantastic wine, both at HR and in the surrounding area.
Amazing approach!!
Thank you, buddy!! Looking forward to working out a collab sometime!
co frowns on touchdown ...lol
Always fun watching a coupled VNAV approach!
Thanks for watching!
Beauty. Just like you drew it up!
Thank you!
Any chance to get that checklist to be used on Cessna citation x on xplane 12?? It’s very realistic!! Txs
What does that little fan shown on the nose cam do and what is it called?
That is the avionics cooling fan.
Great landing!
Thank you!
Welcome to San Diego guys.
Thanks Neill! Great to hear from you. 👍🏼
Oh man ... the Cit X is a real beauty!
I definitely think so! I feel lucky to get paid to fly them!
And I can't wait for the FlightFX Citation X. 😉🛫 The only chance for me to take it to the sky.
@gnashermedia it’s going to be pretty awesome no doubt!
Yeaha....what a nice Approach. Thanks for taking us with you. It's allways a thrill.
Thank you! I’m glad that you appreciate the videos. 👍🏼
Great video John
Thanks Brian!!
That parking garage on short final, LOL. Nice job, guys! Looks like fun!
Thanks! It actually looks worse when you see it from the ground. Ha ha!
How is your company able to use the ForeFlight Call sign. Also, love the content, more flights please.
Thank you! It is actually an included service with a ForeFlight subscription. Not many people know about it or take advantage of it though. It’s a way to be a little more incognito.
Thank you for that!! Good to know!!
@Flynmc You’re welcome!
Amazing video
Thank you!
Always a good day when John uploads!
Thanks Julian!!
Enjoyed that approach and landing. Having recently visited San Diego, spotted several familiar sights.
Awesome! It’s a beautiful city with lots to do. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Beautifully landed Gentlemen 😎
Thank you!! Get lucky sometimes. 😀
Great landing! Just don't stop flyin' the plane after touchdown - now you are in an expensive weather vane.
Absolutely!
Hi, your callsing is ForeFlight ?? Nice videos!
Thank you! Yes, that’s a service that ForeFlight provides to its members. Helps you be a little more incognito.
Out of interest, if there is a true emergency and you had to evacuate could you just hop in the plane, start the engines and fly away without programming the computer
Yes you could absolutely do that. By my estimation you could be airborne in about 3 minutes from connecting the batteries if you really had to in an emergency! No computer programming required. You can fly it like a Cessna 172 if need be.
Yee Haww! I think I can do it now... great lesson.
😂 Levi. You could do that while sitting backwards and blindfolded! 😆 But thanks for watching that!!
Nice video. My only comment is: why do that VFR? Probably saved you a minute or 2, and then you had to worry about keeping clear of clouds.
Thank you. If I remember correctly that day there weren’t any clouds reported so it was a bit of a surprise. Going VFR simplifies things a bit and we can get some awkward routing on an IFR flight plan. If we had known about the clouds we probably would have filed IFR.
citation x is one of the aircraft i have flew in x-plane,its fmc works the same as the real one as you had shown us.what are the procedure to follow in case of a single failure?if its possible i would request you to show us a video of that.thank you.
Very cool! I have heard that the XP12 Citation X is fantastic. Are you asking if I could make a video about the procedure for a single engine failure on takeoff?
@@johnkluenker yes sure please
So many cool places in NorCal to fly!!
So true! We are pretty lucky. 👍🏼👍🏼
Might as well come out and say it, "extra terrestrials"? I know that tv is a lot of bs so it's hard to believe, but tv's terrestrial life is also bs. They play up EVERTHING too much, so it's no surprise to me that their take on "et's" would also be over dramatized making it difficult to believe. I have had only very little personal experience with ghosts and orbs and I'm not a superstitious person, but I CAN say that they are very real. I can tell you that the real experience is nothing like tv makes it out to be. Thanks for posting this video and all of your others. Great job catching all of this on camera!
Thank you so much for the comment! Yes, it certainly is interesting and makes you wonder. Sounds like you have quite a bit of experience with the paranormal. Very cool!
My new favorite channel. Great work John!
Wow!! Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. The channel has struggled to get traction over the years so it certainly motivates me to keep going when I get comments like yours. I appreciate you tuning in!
What did ATC want you to do with “stay outside lemon”?
ATC told us to do that in order to keep adequate spacing behind the airplane in front of us. 👍🏼
Was it a IAF for the ILS and they wanted you to fly around it? Was trying to follow along. I’m a new jet guy at FSI working on my X type rating. Your videos have been tremendously helpful. Also, any chance you could share your ForeFlight checklist 😊
Yeah music was a stupid idea
The “quiet/no music” version is here: Flying Across the Ocean to Hawaii in a Citation X Corporate Jet - QUIET MUSIC VERSION czcams.com/video/badFXbljGm0/video.html I completely faded it out in some areas. Just about everybody prefers it over this one, including me! Sadly CZcams seems to push the loud music version instead of this one and I don’t understand why. If you check out the other version I would really appreciate a comment to let me know what you think of it. BTW it turned out OK for me. Due to so many negative comments about the music being too loud, the YT algorithm deemed the video to be “buzzworthy” and pushed it out in front of people. Sooo it’s the only video I’ve made that has ever really taken-off! 😆
Buick made thoz. Rite

I run a c85 stroker. The 1946 c140 had straight pipes also.not as long as the vetterman, but I still would like to see some before and after dyno numbers on that motor
Nice! That C85 is an awesome STOL engine for turning a long prop. I should add the dyno report chart to the video. Was recently on a dyno. The report showed 130 HP at 2828 RPM and it was still putting out as much as 125 HP all the way down at 2400 I believe. Pretty good for an O-200!!
First view! Man, I miss the Citation. I only got to enjoy the Encore and XL though.
Thanks for the comment! The only Citation type rating I have is in the X. I definitely enjoy it! All airplanes are fun!
La cordillera de los andes ???

Well done John!! Thanks for sharing!

Nice camera work Klink! The flying was sharp too!! LOL!
Thanks, Trevor!!!
I think that is the sky reflecting off the surface, instead of you being able to see the sea state at 47K. What ever right!
Yes, that’s exactly what it is. But when the sea is rough, you can’t see the reflection of the clouds like that. It was a commentary on how calm the seas were that day.
For simulation purposes, you and Citation Max taught me almost everything I needed to know about the Citation. Thanks for that! The FMS’s quirks and nuances are quite challenging, and there’s not much out there on it. It took me probably 6 hours of trial and error and reading the manual to figure it out, then another two hair-pulling hours to master the format for entering manual waypoint coordinates. The reverse thruster took some trial and error, at least on X-Plane. I finally figured out FLC, but the TOGA button and “takeoff mode” is still rather a mystery. The bank limiter was a mystery for a bit, as was the pressurization and APU. Definitely a lot of work compared to a Skyhawk, but a very satisfying challenge. Really appreciate what some of you great CZcamsrs do in support of the aviation domain and those who love it, including sim pilots.
Wow! Thank you! To be put in the same sentence as Citation Max is humbling, to say the least. I only have 3% of the subscribers that he has. 🤦🏼♂️😂 Glad to hear that you are figuring out the X! The TOGA button is actually pretty simple. It brings the Flight Director bars up to I believe 13.5° which is optimal for takeoff or go around pitch. Pushing that button will also sequence to the missed approach in the FMS if you are shooting an approach and have to go missed. Thank you so much for the comment. I greatly appreciate it! I grew up on Microsoft Flight Simulator long before flying in the real world, so I am thrilled that I have the opportunity to give back a little bit to the Flight Sim community!
@@johnkluenker I think I finally discovered that about the FD bar on TO, just haven’t used it since then (memory fades). So it sounds like the GA part of that is like the Suspend button on Garmin when going missed. I’ll have to try that. I never really practiced a Go Around on the X.
Wow, briefing right turn four times and programming it in, and then having them change it to left at the last second is insane. No wonder there’s so many oopsies out there. Nicely done.
Haha! They definitely keep us on our toes! Thank you!!
