  • In this video I show how to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 to scout out and preview the spots that I land at in the real world. It is an AMAZING tool to use for this purpose! I also go over how to tweak and adjust the engine and flight model configuration files to accurately re-create the flight characteristics of your actual airplane. STOL flying. Backcountry flying. Simulator flying.

Very cool! Flight simulator sure has come a long ways from its earlier years.

Thanks John. So much really interesting and information content. The split screen really gives an excellent insight of how realistic MS2020 can be.

Wow! That is really cool! So maybe I can fly after all !!! L.o.l..... the Technology is incredible!! I occasionally go to the Albany N.y. Int. Airport to watch the Jets . There is a great spot on the west side of airport that allows you to park right up to the fence where the planes are taxing to the north end if the wind is right. And I found A flight radar app. That shows where all the planes are going , which type of jet...... Very cool stuff! Thanks again for sharing this stuff !

Hey, this is really useful. I appreciate you sharing this. I just set up FS2020 on a VR/motion seat setup at my house, and have been wondering how useful this could be.

is it possible to ground loop in MSFS yet?

Unfortunately there are some aircraft which the sim designers have encrypted and you can not change these spec’s and the Aviate Husky is one of them…

@@johnkluenker I do have quite a few liveries out for the Husky and did managed to get an engine.cfg to work which does give you a means to adjust that side of it through that mod, but no one has had any success with getting a Flightmodel.cfg mod to work. Got Gravel has a wonderful set of performance mods out for the Savage Cub and even a “Highly” Modified “STOL” version which he calls GRRAVEL, if you can’t get into and out of the smallest of spots, well… It even has a NOS tank in it for those “Cheek Puckering” moments.

Sometimes I wish Trent Palmer and some of the other guys out west would show us more detail on the off airport spots they go on BLM land. Like a map or something so us guys out east with no good off airport spots can at least play in their spots on the sim. CT area sucks for trying to find real world off airport or back country flying. Best we have is the occasional grass strip or private property. The latter is very uncommon. By the way, I have a livery copy of my personal airplane at “flight sim.to” my super cub is a Legend supercub, but the livery is done on the savage cub. Look up “slow poke”. I’ve made some videos with it on CZcams as well!
