  • In this video we're checking out SimBox, a piece of software that allows you to run an FMC / MCDU from your Android or iOS tablet. Compatible with PMDG, Fenix and FlyByWire, this is a great way to get an FMC on the go without pinning yourself down to a specific aircraft type.
    Many thanks to the developer of SimBox for offering us a free licence so we can check this out on the channel.

    Hi 👋🏻
    Thank you for your video 🙏
    MD-11 is planned of course, hopefully sooner than later.
    From my experience - iPad tablets are the best for SimBox. New ones of course. Everything should work great on Android, too. It’s just my personal opinion.

    How cool is that. It works with the 777! And it works very good. Thanks AirNOTT and Flyingart, I purchased an 8" Android tablet purely for Simbox which was as expensive as one Winwing MCDU/FMS. It has the perfect screensize for showing these things.

    Great looking product. I tend to mainly fly the FBW A32NX, and have used an old Android tablet for the FMC, which works really well, although I would like a tactile feel that a touchscreen can't provide. That said, if they provide support for the MD-11, I would probably buy it given it already supports the 777.
    Re using SimBox for other functions such as knob and dial controls, I have a Behringer X-Touch Mini that works really well and provides that tactile element. Once I get my hands on the MD-11 or 777, I'll see if there's a way to interrogate the sim variables to access via Axis-and-Ohs that can then control the X-Touch.

    Not used Simbox, but I highly recommend "Airtrack NG" on an ipad for simulating 737 / Airbus. I use this on every flight, as you can run your ipad in split screen mode and have the 737 Artificial Horizon/ speed etc on the left, and the moving Navigation flight plan with all the waypoints on the right. You can switch on live traffic (you can even add the call signs) , and also terrain map over the flight leg plan, it looks fantastic. No need for other gadgets. The flight plan you can import from Simbrief. You also have MCP/ Radio displays. Developers are also very helpful . I am not in an way connected, but just want other MSFS fans to give it a try. Maybe you can review Airtrack NG too.

    • @lupo_aim
      @lupo_aim Před 24 dny +1

      Yes, atleast in most cases. Some say they dont notice it, but not noticing it isnt meaning its not there… yes, popout windows will impact fps. There was/is a workaround tho, but its a bit unconvenient, you have to connect a second monitor to the mainboard hdmi/dp port and use the pop out window on that one monitor…
