- I received a LOT of comments about the music being too loud in my first version of this video so I decided to make and upload a new version of it with the music turned way down and removed for much of the dialogue. Enjoy!
Come along with Mark and me as we go through the process of planning and flying a flight across the Pacific Ocean to Kona, Hawaii. Awesome stuff!
Thanks for this quiet music versión. Much better than the original versión!
Agreed. Great video before, better after.
Agreed.
Sound overload on too many videos on CZcams. This is good
Wow seeing the view from the cockpit was amazing. I've never sen the clouds reflecting off the water before. The plotting your coarse old school was fascinating too see. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! So glad that you appreciated the video.
SO much better! Thank you!
Yay! This one is great with the music scaled back. Since I live in Hawaii, I am always interested in aviation videos taken around the islands. KOA is one of the airports that I have frequently flown into over the years and remember when they built it in the late 1960s when I was just a kid. Lots of private jets go to KOA as you may have noticed. Lots of vacation homes on the island for the rich and famous.
👏 wow much better !!!! Thanks!!
Great Video !!!!!!
Very nice music.
Much better with the music volume down. Enjoyed flying along with you guys and enjoyed the interaction that you two had in the cockpit. Not a pilot myself, but I am a techie and enjoyed watching the instrumentation. Heading down to Honolulu in May of 2024 on the way to Philippines. Looking forward to rewatching that leg of the trip in person. Nice job.
Very cool!! Thanks for giving this version a watch. Enjoy your trip! It’s incredible how much water you fly over on a trip like that!
TY so much for this version!
You’re welcome. Thanks for checking it out!
Beautiful!
Thank you!!
Sooooo Much Better!! Thank You So much, now I can watch :):):)
Much better!! Great video. Well done! Thank you.
Thank you! I really appreciate that you gave it another chance. Again, I really wish you two would push this version instead of the other one. Ha ha!
This is much better! Really great vid thanks for recording it so people like me can enjoy what you guys do up there.
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions. So glad to hear that you appreciate it. Makes it all worth it!
Awesome video, so cool seeing you guys do your thing.
Thank you! I’m glad that you appreciate it. 👍🏻👍🏻
My new favorite channel. Great work John!
Wow!! Thank you so much. That means a lot to me. The channel has struggled to get traction over the years so it certainly motivates me to keep going when I get comments like yours. I appreciate you tuning in!
Thanks for taking the suggestion to heart and making the effort to re-mix the music bed. It is a HUGE improvement !
You’re welcome! So glad that you appreciate it. Again, I just wish that CZcams would push this version instead of the original. Thank you for the suggestion!
this edit is way better than the first! thanks for taking the time to make the adjustments!
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions.
Excellent Flight video, I like this one better than the one with music that I couldn’t watch more than 8 minutes.
Awesome! Thank you for giving this one a chance. 👍🏻
This is excellent! Was fun watching a second time :)
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions.
much better, great video
Thank you!
OH My Gosh!! Awesome !!! Hope you had a nice vacation. Let's see the return trip>
Much better audio mix. Thank you!
MUCH better, thank you.
It was cool seeing you fly out of my hometown of stockton and fly to my new home in hawaii!
Thank you!!
10/10! Excellent video. Keep them coming. Sooooo much better than the original, lol.
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions.
Awesome video. I especially appreciated that you included some of the planning and position reports. Stunning views on the way. Also, my left ear hates you ;)
Thank you so much! Ha ha! I have not figured out how to adjust the mix between left and right. Not sure why it only pushes the cockpit audio through the left channel. 🤔
CPDLC is an amazing device. Nice video.
Ok, you need more cameras :) Thank you for redoing this video, I couldn't watch it before. (music)
I look forward to more videos. What a wonderful Flight!!
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions. I’m thinking I need to add a camera looking forward that shows the screens and the buttons that we are pushing.🤔
Great video, very informative.
Thank you!
PERFECT!
Awesome!! Thanks so much for giving it another chance. Glad that you enjoyed it!
I didn't want to overly criticize an otherwise stellar video but I thought the same and am happy you took the suggestions of your viewers.
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions.
Another thx for the quiet version. Music's nice, but being able to hear HF comms is also nice. Wish YT gave us a background music fader control!
Thank you! I just wish that CZcams would push this video instead of the original version. Thanks again for your suggestions.
Great video… with quite music. Lol
So much better.
Thank you! I appreciate that you gave it a second look.
@@johnkluenker These videos are engrossing.
Thank you! More to come.
Must be nice flying for the Bank of Stockton
It certainly is!
Lot better. 👍
Wow didn’t realize that the leg between west coast to Hawaii was the longest, I always figured lax to Australia, but I guess there are islands in between
FL470!!!!! My ceiling is 310 I couldn't imagine seeing the world from 470.
Thank you! It’s certainly pretty awesome. One of these days Mark and I will have to take the GoPro up to 51,000 feet. That will make for an interesting video I’m sure!
MUCH better.
Awesome video. The Citation X is an astounding feat of technology and engineering while also being a captivating work of art. I've always wondered - what is the function of that monitor/screen in the ceiling between pilot and copilot? Keep the great videos coming - really appreciate it!
@@johnkluenker Thanks for the super quick reply - never would've guessed it was a cabin info display. Here's something that's been on my bucket list for 20 years now: get a ride on the Citation X. Or at least sit in the cockpit. Or at least do a walkaround of the jet. Or at least be in the general vicinity of the plane haha. 'Till then, I'll live vicariously through these videos. IMHO - you have a great job.
@@johnkluenker I'm based out of KUGN. Finished up my PP-ASEL now going for instrument and beyond. Saw a few Citation X's fly out of UGN during my training and witnessed an early morning takeoff of one. I was standing on the ramp and holy **** the sheer power of those Rolls-Royce engines. But yeah, hope you make it out to Chicago one day. Or I'll convince the wife that Northern California should be at the top of our travel list haha. Either way, I'll take you up on that offer - thanks!
Super! I’ve taken my adult children to Hawaii four times, each visit to a different island. When my son and I landed (as passengers) in Kona, my first thought was, “Wow, this is ugly, like a moonscape.” It was only the following morning when we could see the beauty and diverse landscape of the Big Island.
Agreed! Landing at Kona is definitely the ugliest landing of anywhere in Hawaii that I have experienced. But I certainly love the big island once you get out and explore. The ability to choose your weather and climate, depending on where you are on the island is a big plus as well, but you are correct. The first impression is not the greatest! 😆
That music during the landing at Kona was awesome. Was surprised to see you guys flying at FL43/FL47. At least it gets you up above the "flying buses" down at FL37 and below. Gotta ask: What are the weird things on your chest and around your neck?
Thank you! It is nice to be above all of the airline traffic. That is the oxygen mask that I have hanging around my neck. In case there is a pressurization issue I wear it so that it is right there up against my face. I pulled it down For the talking parts and to relieve some of the fatigue.
This one without music is better
Thank you for giving this version a chance and checking it out! Glad you enjoyed it.
Much better without so much music! We aviation nerds just want the natural soundtrack and ATC haha
OMG, soooo much better without all the music! Thanks for reposting, much appreciated.
When is the next video??
@@johnkluenker Best of Luck in your adventures! Just keep doing what you’re doing and these videos will take off, they’re too good to not watch.
I think I like the music version better
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m from London and am going to Hawaii in August via SFO, can I hitch a ride on your Citation instead of flying United! Great vid 👍
How much fuel did you land with? Some say the X pushes it to Hawaii but my guess is you must have a solid hour of fuel left plus reserves. Not to mention you did have the night winds.
The X actually does really well going to Hawaii. I have done probably about 20 crossings. I have had to fight 80 knot average headwinds on occasion.
We almost always land with over 3000 pounds of fuel remaining, which is plenty in the X. Going back to the mainland. We usually have a tailwind so once we know we have plenty of fuel, we push up the thrust and go fast.
@@johnkluenker ok so you have 1.5 remaining. So it has plenty of legs. Can you go with 8 pax? I noticed some airlines it there in your video.
Much better, but I’d kill the music any time your saying or listening to consequential info.. like you did during the clearance, checklist, etc. feels like I’m watching and conversing with you guys when it’s quiet. Although, I DID like the fade in and out for takeoff.
Agree with you, I like hearing the engines, cockpit sounds and atc. Really like this version
@@johnkluenker was only able to watch the beginning earlier, I see you dropped it in other areas, it looks great. Just like landing though right, always trying to tweak and adjust for the perfect product! :) Btw, I heard you were in a .84 climb, what was the rate that classified as “sipping”?
Pity you didn’t take the opportunity to fix your mic and ATC audio only going through the left channel as well.
I’m not much of an editor. I have tried to figure it out, but I can’t figure out how to do that with my editing software.
@@johnkluenker what software are you using? Most video editing software I’ve seen it’s pretty simple to adjust the left and right balance of audio to be honest.
@WhiteHawk77 I agree that it should be very simple. I use a program called Cyberlink Power Director.
@@johnkluenker I haven’t used that editor and it’ll depend on what version of Power Director you have and seems like it was easier in older versions but a little search on CZcams brings up these possibilities for how to do it.
Do you have Audio Director as part of the Power Director software package you got? Or Wave Editor? As it seems it’s done in one of those.
Might want to have a watch and experiment a bit as it as I mentioned it could be different in what version of the software you have.

czcams.com/video/dBYUanHuMAQ/video.htmlsi=_5uT06hShAxEFLxL
And here’s one talking about a bug in the audio editor that might come in handy if your version has this issue.
czcams.com/video/MGPZQrcjQxM/video.htmlsi=cwPDDNYfI6JU6Jfm
I think other video editors tend to make this a little easier and built into the main software instead of another separate application.
@WhiteHawk77 thanks so much for all of that information! I have the subscription service for Power Director 365, but it only comes with a basic version of Audio Director and the two don’t talk to one another unless you spend more money for the full editor’s suite. Go figure!
No music is needed at all in airplane videos. Please do music-free videos from now on.
