Josh is putting a major spin on the ruling in Prisha's case. The judge actually granted 5 out of 7 motions to dismiss in her case. The only 2 he denied were on the counts of Fraud and Civil Conspiracy. And what the judgement said is that these 2 claims as stated in the original Complaint, if treated as true, would be sufficient to stata a claim. However these two counts are in fact going to be the hardest to prove in a court of law. Having read the complaint in these counts, I see no way they will be able to prove these claims. This case will ultimately fail. The question is how much time and money it will cost both CMP and Prisha herself in legal fees and sanctions.

Thank god for the brave people fighting for those who have been harmed by this terrible ideology.

When I saw you had invited a lawyer, I was not particularly interested. But this episode turned out to be fascinating and so gut-wrenching too ! It's amazing the quality of this podcast when you could think that, after so many episodes, the topic would be exhausted or at the very least feel a bit repetitive. But no, I'm still learning so much and discovering new perspectives thanks to you.

Transitioning, detransitioning,....just live people!

Im glad there are people fighting this in law, thank you for your work. It is extreme injustice being done to misguide unwell kids and adults.

I thank God that I didn’t go further than a couple of months on T and that I was well into adulthood when I did that. I listen to as much info as possible about detransitioners, and I try to learn their stories and remember their names. Even just the very subtle changes to my body that I experienced caused a lot of distress and it has taken half a decade to recover from the whole experience. I pray all the detransitioners will find joy, peace, and purpose in their lives.

Its come to the point where it os abundantly clear that "gender affirming care" is more closely related to a religion then to science. When new information comes to light, science changes. With "gender affirming care" when new information becomes available, its vilified and disregarded because the faith won't be questioned.

In short, I can find nothing about him. You are left to draw your own conclusions."

Joshua Coleman was with Focus on the Family, which was a staunchly Christian conservative group started by Chuck Colson (Nixon’s Watergate dirty trickster). Colson found Jesus in the slammer, so FotF was hard core Republican moral-majority type stuff. FotF supported conversion therapy and staying in abusive marriages, because the bible said. Coleman distanced himself from conversion therapy, but never apologised for the harm he did.

Seems like we need to work on getting thesestatutes of limitations changed also. These people have just created a bunch of work on top of all this trauma.

It’s definitely medical malpractice to willfully lie to and mislead vulnerable people experiencing a mental health crisis into believing that these extremely life changing and destructive surgeries will cure them from what is essentially a mental heath issue.

The cynic in me says this won't stop until the insurance companies don't reimburse for these procedures, the hospitals won't get paid for these procedures, the puberty blockers get stricter prescribing controls and the lawyers win a few cases to establish precedence.

Statute of limitations assumes people with mental illness can make rational decisions within the legal system's definition of "reasonable." The irony is that "gender affirming care" proposes physical and surgical solutions to mental illness, which is irrational. I guess it could be argued that puberty blockers and hormone treatment are akin to psych meds, and someone with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder can't really give informed consent either, when in a psychotic episode... I had a supervisor who used to say that teenagers are mentally ill by definition, so there you go.

Canada needs a similar law firm. The 'expert' witness testimony during these trials will be very interesting.

Look, these lawyers aren't taking on these cases out of the goodness of their heart. They see this as the latest cash cow. It's all about the money, honey. One cannot undo the harm done, which, had the doctors and therapists not got on board, they would have been drummed out of business. Transitioners chose and used the bully pulpit to get what they wanted at the time. Now they want to play the flip side. Good luck on that. This lawyer, and his cohorts, see $$$$$$ signs.

I continue to be entirely mystified by statutes of limitations. They only seem protect offenders.

The movement for bodily autonomy, for children and vulnerable adults, need more lawyers like this man. Many more. Non-therapeutic practices, including surgical procedures on children need to be stopped. Children cannot by definition give informed consent- especially when their bodies are healthy. This goes back decades.

So that law firm can't have won any cases yet. That said, I'm sure they'll be winning a shedload of them down the road. But they have to have had some serious investment into their firm. Hey, if I had the chance to invest, I'd have put my money up well. It's hard for me to see how anyone could think these cases are anything but winners. They're doing God's work though. (And I say this as an atheist.)

I can't gloat over lawsuits against gender affirming 'carers' because each one represents a person who has had his or her health seriously compromised, but this litigation does seem to be one of the few things that might put the brakes on this awful medical malpractice.

One of my frustrations is that leftist groups have gone full focus on identity and libertine sexual practices instead of workers’ rights. I love that gender critical groups are growing, but the amount of right wingers running these groups alienates me a second time.

When you cross a boundary - where you concede to something you know in your head and heart is wrong - you sear your conscience. Then you no longer get the flashing red lights going off in your mind the next time you are asked to do or believe something that shud be offensive to your beliefs and morals. Very similar with sexual deviants or abusers.

Instead of assuming that these kids and older individuals are born in the wrong body, few if any are considering that they might be entering the "Dark Night of the Soul." They may be averse to delving into the depths of their psyche within the underworld of their unconscious. Standing on the threshold of their Rite of Passage, they are unaware of how to navigate their inner odyssey and mistakenly believe that their journey is merely about changing their outer garment.

Terms such as "chest feeding" is not neutral language, it is de-humanising language.
