My favorite playable Zelda was definitely the one in Spirit Tracks. Wind Waker was my first Zelda game, so owning Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks was a given by that point. Though I vibe with Tetra a lot, the Zelda in Spirit Tracks was so much more relatable to me. I loved her progression through the story, the fact that she was an active companion, and any emotional story beats that involved her. Everything about that game was so fun.

I'd love to see a timeline where Sheik is their own character. Like they take inspiration from OOT Zelda/Sheik to incorporate into their own timeline?

I often asked for this or a game with out Link and fans would always get pissed and yell at me. "only Link can defeat Ganon / use the master sword" fans were so smug certain we would never see this.

The game leaves it open with Mipha mostly because Link doesn't talk and the player puts their own feelings on him. Maybe she offered him the armor and he accepted, but they planned to make their love official after the calamity. Maybe she planned to offer it to Link but was killed before she had the chance. And maybe she made it, offered it, and Link couldn't because his heart belonged to another, and that's why she locked the armor away, because he'd rejected it. Any version is tragic and heartbreaking. Him accepting it or rejecting it are both sad. But if he didn't know then what a horrible shock when he realizes the armor fits him, and he only then learned of her feelings, long after she died.

implying wand of gamelon is not a main zelda game is sacrilege. it deserves its place on the top next to ocarina of time and breath of the wild.

The monster dragon that wears the armor laughed at the hero’s drumming. Because the townspeople said that he lives in a place that doesn’t have time, but really he is just a big dragon that sits around in the same place.

I'm still a bit bitter that we didn't get to play Zelda in TotK It would have been so cool to explore the Zonai past with her. I can see why the developers didn't want to make another map and stuff, but still a little disappointing

Cadance of Hyrule: not a mainline Zelda game. Hyrule Warriors: not mainline Zelda games. Spirit Tracks: youre still playing as Link most of the time, and Zelda isn't Zelda as much as she is a playable armor knight. Wand of Gamelon & Zelda's Adventure: well... you know. So, Echoes of Wisdom is still a monumental achievement.

my favorite ship is marin and link! they are just so cute in the game. malon and oot!link are top tier too! i wish we had gotten to see your opinion on some more ships! i wanted to see what you thought of both revalink and ravioli, the ships between botw!link x revali and albw!link x ravio, i've seen quite a bit of those on the internet lol

Kind of surprised there wasn't a ship with Link and anyone of his many fairy companions on this list. Even the old cartoon leaned into the whole "Peter Pan & Tinker Bell" trope with the fairy, Sprite.

I'll always have a soft spot for TP Zelda because of Brawl. During the entire Subspace invasion, this badass magic lady kept her cool even in equivalent situations where Peach is taken by surprise instead. And the sneaking mission with her having transformed into Sheik for it was so cool cinematically (because in gameplay I just switched back to Zelda immediately, I cannot play Sheik for the life of me lmao). Both Hyrule Warriors games were my only other times playing as her. I borderline became a god of combos with her rapier in HW Definitive Edition, and I thought her Sheikah Tablet moveset in Age of Calamity was so much fun that even when she unlocked her true powers I just stuck to the power of technology (indirectly fulfilling her canon wish for her to be able to fight back to the Calamity without these accursed powers whose attempts to awaken just caused her stress and nothing else).

I disagree about it not making sense to redesign a TP version of Sheik just for Smash Bros. They'd changed the Link and Zelda models to match their TP designs for Brawl from their OOT designs in Melee - so it wouldn't make sense for Zelda's Sheik transformation to keep the Ocarina of Time art-style, when her alter-ego was in the TP art-style. As to putting her in TP - One of the key reasons TP is my least favourite 3D Zelda is that it copies far too much from Ocarina of Time already. Repeating a story beat from Ocarina in having Zelda be Sheik again would make it three games where we've had Zelda with a more action oriented alter-ego that reveals themselves at the denoument... Sheik, then Tetra... then Sheik again... To my mind it would indicate that the series had run out of ideas.

What I'd really like to see is a game where Link and Zelda are seperated and trying to get back to each other - Say one in the Dark world and one in the light world - What one does in one world affects the other - allowing you to switch back and forth between the characters to open up new areas.

I love Zelda in AoC, she's my most powerful character. I love raining divine destruction down on my enemies with the bow of light!

I just wish for her first official solo outing, she was actually cool. I would have loved to see her as Tetra for example. I love both Hyrule Warriors, but the first is my favorite of the two because of Impa and her design. Also, the fact she uses a Nodachi and a Naginata.

Actually, Zelda uses a wand as her weapon in Zelda's Adventure, not a sword. But it does look and function pretty much identically to the sword in other 2D Zelda games.

Id really love to see another crossover game like Hyrule Warriors that leans into her mystic abilities like that game did. I think the Warriors franchise is a little too grindy for my tastes. So something more like an RPG or an exploration fighting game could be really interesting. Something like Kingdom Hearts, for instance.
