~ What is your favourite random fact about Ganondorf?
One of the early designs for the human form resembled his offshoot Agahnim.
He was originally going to gradually transform into a demon beast/dark beast in Ocarina of time.
He shares the title incarnation of darkness with the demon king Malladus.
His favorite gem is Topaz.
Malice and Calamity concepts first appeared in A link to the past.
Yuga's battle theme in the eastern palace is Ganon's battle theme from A link to the past in reverse.
Ingo has a portrait of Ganondorf in his room after the timeskip in the 3DS version of Ocarina of time.
1. The unused models from MM3D show that at some point Ganondorf, Sheik, and Impa were all concidered as potential fishing hole hosts/visitors. That goes well with his fishing rod fascination in TP.
2. Among BoTW concept arts there's a short comic where a more modern version of OoT Ganondorf examines an alien alongside Link. In it, Ganondorf has tattoos and a Metallica t-shirt.
He’s one of the few Zelda characters with round ears.
As a Ganondorf super fan, considering he is my favorite character in all of fiction, I'd like to point something about Ganondorf I've not yet seen any mention of: His writing. All three appearances we've seen prior of Ganondorf have been in games directed by Aonuma Eiji; he was very much Aonuma's Ganon, and he was written very consistently as the same character in Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.
Sixteen and a half years later, Aonuma is no longer the director of the Zelda series; Fujibayashi Hidemaro is, and he is the one writing Ganondorf for Tears of the Kingdom. While not a fact, per se, I have a feeling that this portrayal of Ganondorf will, consequently, be very different from Aonuma's Ganondorf.
Prior to Tears of the Kingdom, we have seen exactly two examples of how Fujibayashi writes Ganon: First in Oracle of Ages/Seasons as the resurrected Ganon and in Breath of the Wild as Calamity Ganon. In both, Ganon is more of a force of nature or a mindless beast, consisting of pure, raw power and hatred given form.
Given Skyward Sword essentially retroactively changed Ganondorf from a corruptible man with good intentions for his people before succumbing to the power he came to personify into a mere vessel for Malice incarnate as a result of the curse of Demise and demon tribe, I predict that Fujibayashi's Ganondorf will follow the pattern of Ganon being synonymous with Malice itself, desiring destruction rather than conquest.
In fact, I'll go as far as to say that I anticipate Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom to be a vessel or puppet for Malice similarly to how Calamity Ganon, itself, is strongly believed to have been a vessel or puppet for Ganondorf, himself, in Breath of the Wild. Mark my words: Ganondorf will much more strongly resemble the curse of Demise and the demon tribe than he will the Ganondorf of OoT, TWW, and TP.
Only time will tell! So excited for May 12!
Super video as always SZG! I bloody love Ganondorf and everything about him, fantastic watch :D
Glad you liked it dude! 😁 always happy to talk about Ganondorf
I hardly know anything about him (I’m incredibly new to Zelda) so this was very informative!!! Thanks so much
I’m glad I could help introduce you to more about him 😁
That is a very nice video! The sheer amount of little obscure tidbits of lore surrounding Ganondorf in particular is kinda fascinating.
My favorite ganondorf is the WW one. He’s just so emotional and his monologues are just perfect
He is fantastic I want to see more character development like that in future games
It’s CRAZY to think he’s only in three games
Exactly the same amount as Vaati right now
I love the Ganondorf in "Twilight Princess" just because he's so damn smug 🤪 Though I do like the one in "Hyrule Warriors" for his fabulooous haaaair! 😆
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf might have my favourite design though all of his looks are awesome it’s hard to pick between
Always great content. Thank you for taking the time to put these videos together.
Glad you like them!
You know who else had rounded ears? Demise. Ganondorf only has "Hylian" ears when he's gained either the full Triforce or the Essence of the Triforce of Power.
This was really fun to watch! Learnt a lot, that’s for sure!
glad you enjoyed it! :D
"His ears are rounded" - while his square polygonal ears are on screen. 😂
lol yeah 😅😂 if only i could get some good footage of the 3DS version
@@SuperZeldaGirl Ah well, the point being made was clear, just a funny observation. 🙃
10/10 intro! Time to break out the organ!
Haha XD
2:42 so if they would have managed to bring ganondorf in the oracle games he would have been in 3 games with round ears as seen here 3:38 so what would the connection be between those games?
MAKE A PART 2 Pleaseeeeeeee
planning to at some point :)
My favorite fact is 9. Why cut the speech short like that!?
It really is a shame we didnt get the full things, its so cool
@@SuperZeldaGirl this is probably just wishful thinking that isn’t likely at all, but if TP ever gets remastered for the Switch, I’m hoping they could add in the extra dialogue. Kinda like a directors cut
