Hi. I've finally collected enough tolerance to watch the CGI corrupted S4, but I did read the manga. Either way I'm here because I have to process the ending a second time. I'm neither a writer nor any type of artist, I'm an engineer and an IT expert. So anyone reading my comments 2000 years from now in either direction, please take that into consideration. To me it seems like that any plot that has any inscrutable entity or force at it's core will, almost always end in disappointment. Because by the end of the story, both writers and viewers feel that some explanation and grand reveals are in order. However everything up until this point was themed/revolved around the fact that the entity is impossible to understand to begin with. Mass Effect tried it and failed handidly for instance. And very often it is resolved by pumping up the magic element, creating a grand finale with some huge monster (think of Full Metal Alchemist) and then poof resolved one way or another. Either way, at the very least, I can believe that all characters involved in it get really god damn confused. Ironically this invoved Isayama, apparently. But at the end of the day it's possible to distill the plot. Eren is using Zeke to connect To Ymir and thus controlls all the Titans and Eldians, but not the rest of the world. His objective is to make sure that the people he cares about can live a long happy life. This objective is further clarified into two points: A - The end of Titans and B - Giving Eldians a good shot at survival. B directly feeds to A and therefore A is the #1 objective. From the written story, it seem like the only way to stop titans from existing and therefore erasing the 13 year rule is to destroy the Eldenpede. To do that it's almost certain that one needs to convince Ymir to let go of it. For this the criteria seems to be Mikasa overcoming her love for Eren, which is done by killing him. And it's fairly safe to say that Mikasa is only willing to do this when the other option is to let the world die. This checks Eren into the rumbling. But! Let's not forget objective B! Paradis, due to the rumbling proves an immediate existential threat (idea perfectly sold by Willy Tibur) and a rich area worth taking for it's resources. Since the time is effectively "post world war" I highly doubt that any global coalition would have any significat stability. Meaning even if they could agree on trying to eliminate the rumbling by taken over the founder somehow, the moment this happens the alliance would likely fall apart immediately. No other nation would want Marley to take over Paradis, no matter how many high ranking dignitaries get smushed my Eren. I would say that the most convenient solution would be to join Marley eliminating the Founder, then start supplying the Eldian resistance secretly to force Marley into weakening their military by expending it on dealing with insurgencies. Oh by the way a lot of the math doesn't check out either. I often felt over the series that traveling distances were not taken seriously and characters kinda teleported between locations. But this is especially true if we consider the rumbling itself: Assuming that titans can rumble at the maximum lenght equal to the total lenght of all the walls this means that even in sinfle file, the titans are unavoidable; the planet of the setting is like our own Earth; Hange's assumption of a colossus moving at 50 km / h is correct and Titans simply ignore elevation or any type of terrain including the sea. The walls are around 7000 km in lenght. This means that if the Titans fan out and create a circle, then the farthest they can move from Mithras before the Rumbling fails is...well simply the sum of all the wall radii, so 1110 km. Even saying that they only fan out in a semi circle or that every titan tramples enough space around itself to warrant doubling this, that's just 2220 km. For the rumbling to truly destroy everything, the titans would have to travel half the circumference of the planet. that's over 20.000 km. With 50 km / h, that would be 400 hours or 16.6 days. Which is scary fast actually. However the the largest point the circle they create would have to be over 40.000 km in lenght and all they have is 7000 km. Not nearly enough for such an operation. And if they leave gaps, well there are gaps then to use. Still devastating but if you have an entire ocean to avoid something, not impossible. Either way, anything behind Marley from the perspective of Paradis Island is safe as the Rumbling was stopped while Eren was still in Marleyan territory. This means that large portions of nations would be annihillated, but some of them would be just fine. So 80% is a weird number here, like imagine that the areas farthest from Eldia would be untouched giving them an incredible advantage in future dealings. What I'm saying is that the size of the planet is maybe a tad bit underestimated in this story. So objective B is a lot more complicated in terms of possibility than A, because destroying the centipide and putting Ymir to rest is only dependent on Ymir herself. So any changes Isayama might have had considered boils down to Ymir herself and the mechanics of the magic system behind the Titans. The story could have been easily turned into a happy ending or a complete tragedy just by changing Ymir a tiny bit.

Part 4 has the best vibe and art style of the series

Most of my favorites are shows from late 70 to early 2000 and most big streaming platforms just not hosting any shows from said era on their catalog, or even worse they region lock it. Also since you mentioning Disney+, I'm happy that they had Macross series in their catalog, since Macross doesn't have much pressence compared to Gundam in the West, but to no anyone surprise, not all Macross series are available on Disney+, for example SDF Marcross and Macross Do You Remember Love? aren't available and both are absolute classic. Do you know why both series aren't available in Disney+? Basically back in the days Macross got localized to West under the name of Robotech, and the company who owns it, is the most frustating company to deal with (screw you Harmony Gold).

There is no villain in AOT. Legit no one is innocent. Eren, Reiner, Armin, Bertholt, etc. Everyone has blood on their hands. And you really can’t blame them. We were both shown that both Marley and Eldia were tyrannical empires. The Alliance and the Yeagerists both have good reasons. One side wants to save other nations and other side wants protect themselves. So you really can’t blame either party. It’s not to prove which ideology is right or wrong. It just shows what people have to do to live in this cruel world. My only problem is that I wish isayama gave the alliance a solution to have peace between eldians and the rest of the world if they were to stop the rumbling. I also wish he showed marleyans not as a monolith because he just made them and other races in AOT as just bigoted people that hates eldians. I mean could’ve had some of the non-eldians who wanted peace with the paradise eldians.

I love Anime, the reason why I don't buy Anime is because they are OUTRAGEOUS. I want to support them, but to EXPECT us to pay $80-130 sometimes for NOT even a full season(sometimes like 3-4 episodes) is the MOST ridiculous thing i've ever heard in my life. I used to buy them back in the day, first with VHS, and then with DVD, but once they started doing entire seasons/sagas for $40-50 and with how that is always the case for normal TV I just became unwilling to do that.. Yeah I get it's expensive to make anime, but if they have a TWELVE episode show, then you sell me a bluray for $40-50 and we'll talk! It is absolutely unfathomable to me that they think it is reasonable to charge someone the price of a full video game, for 4 episodes of a tv show.. I seriously don't understand where they decide these prices, especially when it costs them practically nothing for the disc packaging.. It's not like it comes with a figure or its some special edition.

I think his ending was actually written well in terms that it made sense with everything that had been established to that point… minus there being enough titans within the walls to encompass every part of the earth (realistically, they would have become spaced out enough while walking out from paradi that much of the world would see only one Titan or none by the time they came by). It also wasn’t realistic that 80% of humanity was killed off either unless that was due to ripple effects from destroying the ecosystem and other life around the area. Eren’s actions and motivations though, as well as many other characters actions and motives, were very understandable until the bitter end.
