I do as well. There aren't many boats to compare it to either. My knee jerk reaction was Fleming and maybe Beneteaus Swift line, but these are so modern and stylish that they kind of have a design of their own.

Somehow, Fleming seems like the benchmark all the others should be compared to. I personally like that Fleming had got speed when you want it as an option. Fleming is also twin diesel vs single and as much as I understand the pros and cons of both, my personal preference would be to have a spare engine with you just in case 😉

Personally, I think it depends on your intent for the yacht. If you plan on having groups of people onboard regularly, then this has the perfect layout for entertaining. If you plan on just husband and wife cruising, then the layout might not be the best option.

I'm a big fan of fast trawlers. Cruise at slow speed when you need the range, power on up when you want to beat the weather, or get to a destination. This one would be a great option for the loop where you would ideally want a mix of both 🤠

Good question, it looks like at around 5 knots she has over 4000 nautical mile range based on the fuel figures at boattest.com/boats/fleming-yachts/65-2020 The aft cockpit is massive. You could also look into a temporary fuel bladder, but not sure how that works with weight and stability. I've never used one myself so far.....

Thanks Billy. It seems USA likes fiberglass, Europe favors steel, and Austrlia favors aluminum. As far as fiberglass goes, this has to be one of the strongest boats I've been on. I'd trust her a lot more than most boats of a similar size 😉

It's actually a common practice at boat shows when the boats are privately owned and not for sale. The amount of people coming through boat shows greatly increases the risk of the soft furnishings being damaged.

That's one drawback to boatshows is that you normally have restrictions on what you can access onboard. Fortunately, I got far more freedom than I ever expected when I was onboard

Nordhavn 52, that is

This one might not have the most headroom in the engine room, but it's all compromise. It has plenty if room for doing maintenance, great headroom in the accommodation, but a relatively low air draft.

Nordhavn 52 definitely has more headroom in the engine room, but also a significantly higher center of gravity than the Fleming.

@@GarnockReviews YES a very affordable vessel for a big pocket person. I enjoyed many weekends on my LARSON. The only trouble I had was docking perfectly. I had a trainer who had his captain license take my boat out with me and my wife. After his training. My wife would get everyone watching her back perfectly into slip. They would come over and just say, your wife is a pro.

@@GarnockReviews sorry I mean a very, very affordable boat for a young couple who wants a overnight boat. Can tell you from mine it was perfect for that. And the fishing set up on yours, all I can say is the buyer if he or she doesn't get fish, don't blame it on your great boat. It is ready to fish. Those rod holders are well thought out.
