- Mark Zeigler Yacht Sales has for sale a 2003 Sabre 42 Express that is priced to sell at only $299,500. This particular example has less than 1,000 hours on the clock, and would make a fantastic liveaboard for the Great Loop thanks to that low air draft. The main cockpit and helm area are fully enclosed, and air conditioned, to allow you to enjoy cruising regardless of the weather outside.
The open aft cockpit is allows you to enjoy cruising, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and diving. There is even an extended bathing platform, with retractable boarding ladders, and both a hot and cold shower outside to rinse off.

Agree, Garnock's walk-thru reviews are among the best, in part due to tight editing, his narration style of presentation, and not the least due to the gems that Mark Ziegler seems to repeatedly turn up and ask Garnock to review..
Thank you! The Jacksonville boat show is later this month and they had a ton of local exhibitors and local information the last time I attended. It's mainly smaller boats say 18 to 30ft bow rider and center consoles, but still a good way to pass a couple of hours 😉

Hi Carnock Reviews, Thats a nice boat This Sabre 42 Express i love the wood work inside with 2 cabins one head the open galley with dining very nice .I think i would bring this one to Europe and steel the show there they are very rare over there great show
Thanks Manuel. She reminds me of the Dale and Nelson's over in the UK. Almost like a commercial pilot boat with a yacht interior. Very seaworthy but very comfortable too.

I would have great confidence in the ability of these Sabre boats to handle challenging conditions AND offer comfort aboard over extended periods of time. That typical Sabre interior joinery is oh-so pleasing to the eye, isn't it. Nicely presented, Garnock.
This is the type of boat you can say you are taking out next weekend......without worrying about the weather beforehand. I'd comfortably go anywhere this boats fuel range would allow, at any time 😎

A good survey will answer that better than I can. At face value, though, the boat looked to be in great shape for the money and its age 😉
I think the boat was professionally cleaned who is definitely a leak in the front cabinet and you could see the stains around the old shaft leaked and someone cleaned it with acid. Still a nice boat though got a lot of money.
I'd always recommend a good sea trial, survey, and inspection. That being said, I honestly don't expect this one to have major issues to report. Low hours for its age, and solid construction from day 1 😉
What is the max range?
I found this online which although is different engines, it is similar hp. I would assume you would still be in a similar ballpark.....
Cummins MerCruiser Diesel data show that, when equipped with a pair of 425hp Cummins Zeus 3500 (QSB5.9M) diesels, the Sabre 42 burns 4gph at an 8-knot cruising speed, for a whopping 747-nautical-mile cruising range, based on a 420-gallon fuel load. Bump up your speed to 30.5 knots, and the fuel burn rises to 41gph, effectively halving the range to 325 nautical miles.
classic beauty. just reupholster the seats with light cloth. 1,000 hp. seems she would be even faster

This boat is a problem waiting to happen it looks beat and not cared for
This one needs a few projects over the next couple of seasons, but I wouldn't say it's beat or not cared for. It's also priced far below most others on the market to accommodate the work needed 😉
